Great partner for SOC2!
What do you like best about the product?
I like how responsive and professional their team is. Laika stood out among other options we considered in their legal expertise and willingness to review your existing policies. They also worked with us to hit a demanding timeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software can sometimes be a little clunky, and a few times, we had to resubmit data that they should have been able to pull from our API. Laika broke the SOC2 process into two phases. I wonder if it would have been more straightforward and faster if there was just one phase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complete a SOC2 audit. Laika helped us do that quickly.

A bit clunky but does its job and comes with no-added cost SOC 2 audits.
What do you like best about the product?
SOC 2 audits are built into the price of the product, so you don't have to worry about finding an external auditor and/or budget creep because you need to pay for a separate external auditor.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI tends to get a bit clunky and definitely could be more built out. A lot of fairly easy quality of life features are missing - for example, the option to edit vendors in bulk. Integrations can also be a bit hit or miss (GCP integrations were broken for a while, Bamboo HR integrations are broken currently). Policies are really really long winded compared to a lot of other similar products, which feels super unnecessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It does do its job of getting you to SOC 2 compliance with less effort at a very reasonable cost! Not sure where the prices / savings in price compare to other similar vendors, though.

Weekly check-in meetings help facilitate a cadence to get things done AND a user-friendly dashboard helps manage tasks and to-do's.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any software, a bug now and then...they all got addressed.

SOC2 Compliance. With SOC compliance, we can offer the One Donation solution to enterprise clients.

Compliance meets human
What do you like best about the product?
The ladies we work with gently nudge us in the right direction and provide us with insight on what is up and coming. They never tell us what to do, but rather advise us on the best practice. Laika integrations are wonderful and are SUPER helpful, especially when it comes to finding minor hidden issues. The new UI is wonderful! Laika went from giving us a spreasheet for gap analysis a few years ago,. to a freaking awesome and easy website UI which makes it VERY nice for our CEO to view! PS: CEO loved the new gap analysis!
What do you dislike about the product?
Their integrations have become much better. They used to break often, however, If an integration breaks, there may be a newer version for you to upgrade to. Also, the ease of upgrading the integration is super nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are going for required compliance, and Laika has put a human touch on the pathway for us. When we have questions, they always respond in an hour or so. If you have multiple compliances your company has to get, they can now combine the overlapping tasks to make it easier to manage!

If your company needs compliance, Laika is a great solution! They are literally compliance with a human touch!

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Laika is hands-down the compliance architects. The team of experts is incredibly professional and insightful. The application is also very user-friendly and an incredible resource for collecting evidence for different regulations. We were able to achieve SOC 2 Type I, HIPAA, CCPA etc within a very short time.

I have no dislikes! Every step of the process was ultimately smooth.

Amazing partner for SOC 2 compliance (both preparation and audit)
What do you like best about the product?
SOC 2 rules are sometimes generic and confusing, and the Laika consulting team helps tangibilize the typical tasks needed for SOC 2 compliance. They also recommend non-required but nice-to-have security practices, as well as the best partners to utilize for each side of the business (from file storage to penetration testing)
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. We look forward to continuing working with them in the future.

We knew we needed SOC 2 compliance due to the nature of our business in order to be operational. We used Laika since the day we raised funding in order to build our infrastructure in a manner that would be secure for our customers as well as compliant with SOC 2 practices.

Laika's staff are professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and experts in their field. They are always available for questions and clarifications

The UI can be a bit wonky while uploading evidence, but the engineers are continually working to provide a streamlined experience

There was nothing I disliked about Laika. They worked with us to create custom policies from their templates that were appropriate for our current stage and business model.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika takes the guesswork out of compliance and SOC audits. The combination of software and actual human interaction really made the whole experience feel attainable. Laika helps us focus on developing our product and being able to grow the company with the confidence that we are following the rules. They were especially helpful when we were prepping for the audit and implementing controls; having people beside us to unpack challenges and answer questions was unbeatable.

There are some features that we have had issues with in the past such as alerts and people management, however, the Laika team has always been receptive to feedback and we’ve been able to see real results from enhancement requests we’ve made

Perfect SOC 2 solution for our startup (<50 employees)
What do you like best about the product?
Laika has an integrated audit approach - they helped us create our policies, collect compliance evidence, and actually conduct the audit (with their Laika integrated audit team). This helped our company get through SOC 2 at lower prices, faster speeds, and with less hassle!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike in particular. I think the notification and document requests could be a bit more organized during the audit - ex. when an auditor requests a document, I could only find that request in the comments (as opposed to on the dashboard or more centralized location). Kind of minor and I actually believe this may have been fixed in future releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Laika to become SOC 2 Type 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. We have currently received our SOC 2 Type 1 certificate and are currently in review for our SOC 2 Type 2. We've also been able to update our policies and support documentation through Laika's easy-to-use templates.
