Laika makes compliance a breeze!
What do you like best about the product?
Their workflow process makes compliance very clear and easy. They are very straight forward with what needs and requirements are to be met in order to become compliant.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are usually swamped. Therefore we have to schedule calls a week in advance to get clarity on any issues or needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to become HIPAA and SOC 1 and 2 Compliant. They were very helpful in getting us up to compliance and helping us with the audits. This helped us get compliant faster.

Moves toward a more interactive compliance experience
What do you like best about the product?
Laika's ability to easily converse about evidence and policies with auditors and customer managers is particularly useful: we made liberal use of it to avoid long cycle times of only catching up with someone on a weekly or otherwise recurring basis. They also have direct integrations with some common cloud providers, which was able to automate some relevant evidence collection.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't like the need to push policy documents into the Laika-specific GoogleDocs-like space. I would have preferred a more direct integration with our system of record, so that we could maintain these documents directly in Google Drive, and publish changes from there directly to Laika. I look forward to more/better/configurable integrations with external cloud providers to avoid even more evidence collection drudgery.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika helped us navigate the complicated SOC2 landscape as a relatively small company without a dedicated compliance team. They were able to support us where we were strong and explain the real utility where we were weak. Compared to previous vendors, I feel like we took a real step-up in security posture as a result of working with them.
We used Thoropass to prepare us for SOC II & PenTests
What do you like best about the product?
Thoropass has been extremently helpful in helping our organization mature, prepare for SOC II and helping us improve our Security posture.
Their platform has been extremely easy to use and intuitive in terms of helping us lay out a roadmap for preparing for our SOC II Type 1 (and eventually Type 2) audits.
Our designated account team has been friendly, helpful and always available.
Additionally, we used Thoropass to conduct our annual PenTest. Having been through many PenTest processes before, I would say that this was the most organized and professional PenTest I have ever been a part of. The team was absolutely great and communicative.
Overall, a great product and service - but I would say what really stands out is the team!

Honestly, there is really nothing I dislike about the service, products, or team. As mentioned above it really goes above and beyond our expectations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internally, we do not have the collective resources and experience to prepare for SOC II audits (Type 1 & 2). Laiks is providing us with the resources and roadmap to prepare for both. Without Laika, this process would be EXTREMELY difficult and resource intensive for our young organization.

As a small company focused on bolstering our compliance organization, we are happy to partner with an organization like Laika. Their team is helpful, responsive, and thorough with the questions we have and ensures that we have a solid understanding of the intricacies of different certifications.
The all-in-one Laika platform allows our team to have one central hub for our compliance work. The way you work through individual tickets to boost your company compliance breaks the journey up into digestible and understandable steps. Being able to bring in team members to help on tickets is valuable and allows us to effectively break up the work.

What do you dislike about the product?
A small nitpick, the sorting tasks by certification function doesn't work every time. When trying to work through one specific certification it would be great for this feature to work consistently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making compliance easy to understand and achieve is very helpful. The work our company does requires that we operate from a culture of security and compliance. Laika helps us enforce that culture and build upon it.
Easy to use product and a helpful/knowledgeable team
What do you like best about the product?
- Using the product was intuitive and easy to pick up. It made understanding the requirements of particular controls, collaborating across functions internally, uploading evidence, etc really easy which made the overall process significantly less painful than it otherwise would've been.
- Our support team was easy to work with, responsive, and thoughtful/respectful in talking through cases where we saw things differently.
- While I'm not directly involved in this work, it's my understanding that working collaboratively through these audits helped the team uncover a significant amount of opportunities to continue to mature our security posture as an organization.

What do you dislike about the product?
There were some features that were talked about during the sales process that either haven't lived up to what was promised or don't exist at all. Specifically, the diligence questionnaire populator and an ability to securely share documents with clients via custom datarooms.

Laika for best SOC2 solution in the market
What do you like best about the product?
Laika makes it simple and easy to approach SOC2 requirements. They are always available when we have questions and want to hop on a call, and they make an effort to guide our SOC2 efforts on a constant basis.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to find issues with the Laika platform. They had some product updates that made it even easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is helping us build compliance programs and security best practices through all of our systems, from organizational structure to in-depth tech needs. We are fortunate to work with a partner that understands the full stack needs of a technology company and SOC2 needs.
Laika is an absolute must for early stage companies when it comes to compliance!
What do you like best about the product?
The Laika experience is very simple to use and self-serve. Coming into the platform with very to little compliance experience, we were still able to easily progress through each task, collaborate, assign tasks to teammates, and connect with the Laika team on weekly calls whenever we had outstanding questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to mention! Since the Laika experience is self-serve, sometimes we needed a nudge from them on actionable tasks to complete week over week, or else the work would stall. Sometimes the playbook instructions were unclear at times on the requirements, but the Laika team offered to connect on weekly calls and were super helpful when we had any outstanding questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika made it super simple and straightforward for us to pursue SOC2 Compliance as an early-stage startup. Without Laika, we would've had to hire compliance experts internally and spend a lot more time and resources on our compliance. As an early startup, time and resources are better spent on building the company and finding product-market fit. Laika opened up internal bandwidth so that we could still pursue our SOC2 compliance while also being able to prioritize building out the business.
Great Customer Service
What do you like best about the product?
Having a dedicated CSM to walk through the tasks on our roadmap make using a Laika a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I had more access to the technical liaison for more detailed context.

They make checking off items to complete your SOCC compliance easy and understandable.

The constant interaction with the experts who work with you thru the prep, audit and post audit

The overall tasks seem overwhelming if there is no dedicated resource for ensuring policy and tracking. the audit (which is a separate org) can drag on for a seemingly long time than expected. The audit interactions could be optimized

What do you like best about the product?
Laika was very hands on with us and we had lots of face to face (virtually) interactions which was critical for us in that this was our first experience with SOC2.
What do you dislike about the product?
The human side was great the software side left things to be desired. We ran into a number of bugs over the time that were frustrating and the task tracking and UX wasn't great so it was difficult to understand where we were in the process, how far along we were, and how much was left. During our process we tried using multiple other tools including JIRA & spreadsheets to help us get a better grasp on this. That's probably an indicator that the project management aspect of their software could use some improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They helped guide us through a complex process of preparing for and being audited for SOC2 which is something as a smaller business we had zero experience with coming into this process.
