Platform needs more integrations & a bit clunky, but the team behind it is super supportive
What do you like best about the product?
Laika’s human component is the biggest value-add. Their team is knowledgeable and can dive deep into case and company-specific nuances for SOC2 compliance (and I imagine other certifications as well). They made themselves very available for our compliance team and were a huge help to getting our certification over the line.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest draw of a compliance program and audit management tool is automating evidence collection and submission to auditors. Laika's platform, despite some process improvements and their stellar support team, still lacks many integrations that would allow for a plug-and-go evidence submission process. Instead, the process is still fairly manual, with relatively incremental improvements on a non-automated evidence submission process.
The platform also still has some other features that still need to be built out (e.g. access rights review automating, bulk vendor management, MFA flagging, etc).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Achieving SOC2 Type 2 compliance, and building + maintaining a more robust data security & risk management program. Laika definitely is great at communicating ideal states for these programs, and providing guidance on how to build appropriate internal processes to meet the ideal states.

Easy to Get Started HIPAA Compliance Software
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Laika is how easy it is to get started on the platform. After having an introductory meeting with a member of the Laika team, I received an overview video to watch that helped explain the interface and gave me a good understanding of how to utilize the platform. Once on the platform, it became clear how easy and intuitive it was going to be to complete the compliance tasks. Features such as the simple, but effective roadmap overview and the assign task function made getting started with the platform and tracking progress a breeze. After that, it became as simple as completing the tasks and reaching out to the responsive Laika team if any questions arose.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, there aren't too many downsides to using the Laika platform for compliance documentation. In our specific scenario, it would have been nice to have templates that were a little more geared towards our company. As an early-stage startup, some of the templates didn't seem to be super applicable to us, so having a more robust template library that can be more easily altered to fit companies of all shapes and sizes would be a great feature to have. This is understandably difficult to do though, so it is doubtful that any other providers have done a significantly better job in this area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is helping us with our HIPAA compliance and documentation challenges. By working with Laika, our company is well-positioned to be fully compliant and prepared for market entrance.
Excellent and timely support throughout the process
What do you like best about the product?
Laika is always there to support questions that we have about the compliance process. Their response time is timely, and their breadth of knowledge is great. They go above and beyond when supporting us. Feels very white glove.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are elements of Laika's software that are not intuitive, and there are some features around role management in particular that I'd like to see. But their product team has been receptive, and the platform is constantly improving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is helping us achieve HIPAA compliance, which is a major requirement for our company. They have provided a hands on service to help us get audit ready, and their support has been greatly appreciated.

All of the support they provide. Someone is always there to answer your questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides at all. As they continue to grow, I'm sure they will improve their platform, but they are great where they are!

Compliance security. They walk you through every step and more to become compliant.
Comprehensive Compliance Guidance
What do you like best about the product?
Laika provides excellent guidance and partnership throughout the compliance certification journey. Having a dedicated Compliancr Architect was extremely helpful for our team as we pursued ISO 27001 certification. They ensured that we didn't miss any details, and served as liaisons for our auditor relationships. This level of close-touch service was one of the main reasons we selected Laika, and had proven consistent throughout our engagement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Laika's web interface is pretty good and has recently released some new improvements, but one area that could use more attention is the policy document editor/uploader interface. It forces a user to copy policy documents into a less-than-great in-platform word processor, which can negatively affect formatting from Msft Word or Google Docs. Ideally, we would love to see an option that allows for Google Doc policies to be linked into Laika directly, so as to avoid creating redundant files.

What do you like best about the product?
The Laika team members are very knowledgable and respond quickly to posed questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software has quite a few redundancies. The audit uncovered a lot of required evidence that wasn`t previously asked for or redundant information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
Laika offers a wide range of tools and integrations to help manage and automate compliance efforts. These included playbooks, checklists, and auto-generated evidence collection via connection to softwares that we are already using such as Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, Jira, and Gitlab. It made it easy to track our compliance progress and ensure that we are meeting all of the necessary requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Laika offers a good variety and partners for additional security requirements such as pentest, we found there were better quotes from other independent providers. It would be great if Laika can continue to expand their network of partnerships and keep their quote competitive so that we can take the full leverage of the Laika platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the things I appreciated most was Laika's user-friendly interface. The interface was intuitive and easy to navigate, and the software provided step-by-step comprehensive guidance throughout the compliance process for both users who are new and already familiar with compliance alike.

It helped us with our SOC-2 certification and with our HIPAA compliance. Laika provides a roadmap and guidance in what order you should achieve the sometimes cryptic requirements for regulatory requirements.

Laika provides a clear, easy-to-use roadmap for either an expert in compliance or a novice. Everyone needs a project plan and a straightforward way to approach certification to be successful. Laika was able to provide this from a platform and people perspective.
What do you dislike about the product?
The recommendation or roadmap elements did not apply to our environment in a few instances. This could be enhanced by personalizing each company. Some of the integration features did not always fully meet the need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a streamlined and straightforward path to certification and a tracking mechanism to maintain ongoing success. The platform is excellent for this. Laika also supports with expertise and guidance. This element is essential; we could not have accomplished certification without it.

1. Excellent customer support and guidance throughout our SOC 2 Type I certification. I want to give a shout-out to Kristal Aygoren (Compliance Architect) and Joseph Miller (Customer Success Manager) for being extremely helpful in our SOC 2 effort.

Nothing major. I'd recommend Laika to anyone.
