What do you dislike about the product?
Thoropass' original pen test partner was difficult to work with, but they have since mitigated this issue and their new pen test partner is much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently decided to pursue SOC 2 certification. We were initially overwhelmed by the process, but we were referred to Thoropass by a friend. Thoropass has been an absolute lifesaver. They have made the SOC 2 compliance process so easy and straightforward. They are an excellent value for the price and they will make the process so much easier than you ever thought possible.

While working with Thoropass, I found that some third-party companies they recommended, such as pen testers, were on the more expensive side, even after discounts were applied. If you're willing to invest time in exploring other options, you should be able to find cheaper alternatives.

My company needed to achieve SOC2 compliance. SOC2 compliance is crucial for companies that handle sensitive data, such as financial information, medical records, or personal data, as it ensures that they have the necessary security and privacy controls in place to protect their customers' information. Thoropass made the SOC2 process seamless.

There are a lot of helpful features in the platform - some are just not ready yet.

Thoropass was essential in establishing a set of policies and procedures to prepare us for a successful SOC2 Type I assessment. The integration capability, employee training/acknowledgment functionality and offboarding are just a few of the features that make the platform helpful in maintaining a compliant state. As a fintech, every due diligence effort starts with "do you have your SOC2?" question.

They told our team exactly what we needed to do to obtain our SOC2.
This process was slick, and they provided updates so I wasn't chasing endlessly. They also provided documentation for prospects mid-process to confirm we were getting the certification and a rough timeline. This helped me close deals now.

I can't fault the Thoropass team. They made it pretty straightforward for us.

What do you like best about the product?
Thoropass has helped us achieve SOC2 Type 1 compliance from scratch in record time: 2 months! Our compliance architect was very knowledgeable; she answered all our questions with straight-to-the-point answers, ensuring we didn't waste time and focused on what mattered.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating the platform can be confusing at times. There is a "Progress View" and an "Implementation View" that contain duplicated information. Sometimes the text also does not match, and it creates confusion when discussing with colleagues or even with the compliance architect. There is a bright future for Thoropass Integrations, but they don't cover nearly enough yet. We had to provide many pieces of evidence manually, but they could have been extracted automatically from our cloud platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika has helped us achieve SOC2 compliance from the ground up. It also helps us remain compliant and integrates with our cloud platforms to automate compliance evidence.

What do you like best about the product?
Going through our compliance for SOC 2 was much easier than we thought. Laika provided all the steps and templates we needed to set us up. Our compliance architect (Hey Amalia!) and our Customer Success Manager (Hey Paige!) were both instrumental and critical in our success.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish more could be done in Laika. In the end, many processes that I wish could be in Laika (incident report, security-related ticketing, access change requests, etc.) end up being hacked around either through whatever developer project management tools we already have or with emails and Google form.
This would make evidence collection much more manageable and the whole experience complete.

What do you like best about the product?
Laika is an easy to use tool that helps track and manage the SOC 2 process. Our team went through Type 1 and Type 2 audits, which were managed closely and well by our customer success team. We worked with Michael who went above and beyond for our team over a matter of years.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the tools were being released when we were starting our initial audit so it got better as time went on. The only feedback I have is to support more automated integrations.

Laika walked us through the SOC 2 types 1 and 2 process and helped us become compliant. They also gave us tools to help manage our compliance throughout the compliance period and beyond.
