Outsystems to the best development platform
What do you like best about the product?
The speed of performing complex short temple applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm in love with the Platform and there's nothing I do not like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The constant change in business to meet business needs
Great low code platform with lot of power
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and power that is provided out of the box. Easily tackles the issues faced in the traditional development. Don't have to spend too much time on UI or thinking about the coding best practices (like design pattern). Just have to follow the Outsystems guide lines and by default it encourages modular programming. This will be very helpful when building applications as code re use is also encouraged. Apart from that things like monitoring and logging are taken care by the platform we don't have to spend too much time on it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Programmers still need to know Java or C# should they write extension, it would be much better if Outsystems can come up with its own programming language so we can write code in the IDE itself instead of relying on C# and Java. This will help developers to debug code and test it within the IDE instead of the integration studio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business would like to have the applications delivered fast with decent UI. So using Outsystems, this was easily achieved and visual programming allows the developer to do most of the QA testing too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely people should try Outsystems to realize how much work is taken care by the platform. This really allows the developers to solve business problems instead of technical problems.
Speaking My Language!
What do you like best about the product?
The platform allows me to concentrate more on the functionality and features in my applications rather than how to code it. I won’t even get into debugging. I used to always generate Visio flowcharts before coding. With this platform, the flowcharts ARE the code!
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren’t many things I dislike, but one thing that comes to mind is merging code when multiple developers are working in the same eSpace. It would be nice if it worked more like Microsoft’s TFS source control.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use OutSystems for in-house applications requested by employees and managers. The primary benefit is super-fast turnaround. It usually takes longer for users to describe to me the functionality they need than it does for me to generate a functioning prototype for them to test out.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Avoid advanced queries, keep all JavaScript organized, avoid tweaking processes automated by the platform.
Rapid development and ease of deploy
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive IDE with flow ideal for Technical Business Analyst.
Prompt and accurate support - consistently excellent.
The dev capacity of the platform is vast.

What do you dislike about the product?
Necessary to understand architectural patterns to leverage full power platform, and currently lack of external resources on this.
That said, the license provides x amount of support hours.

Best Low Code Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, the integrated dev ops platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Local debugging is a bit tricky but it is still worth it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Legacy System integration has become a lot easier and faster time to market
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely use it
Complete Life-Cycle management and High Speed developing
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about OutSystems is its combination of speed and flexibility for developing complex applications without sacrificing quality.
The platform enables rapid prototyping while maintaining scalability and robustness, which is ideal for enterprise environments. Additionally, OutSystems' strong integration capabilities with various systems and cloud providers allow seamless connectivity across platforms, making it easier to embed low-code solutions into existing infrastructures.
The focus on automation and AI tools further enhances the platform, helping developers streamline processes and increase productivity.

What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing costs can escalate quickly as application usage scales, which might be a concern for smaller organizations or startups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Name it; mobile applications, search engines, integrations with subsystems etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look no further, just get started
The best development tool for webdevelopment
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using OutSystems for more than 10 years, and it's really easy to use and learn. And it's also easy to teach someone even without that much technology knowledge.
What do you dislike about the product?
The prize of the platform it is a little bit expensive for small and medium companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The time to market is completely killed when using this platform. We can deliver applications really fast.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask for a demo or test their trial. Check the e-learning materials
Low-coding it
What do you like best about the product?
The intuitiveness of the IDE is very good and new developers can easily catch on. I also like the cost of change that is very low - this is important in industries where change is at the order of the day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the licensing model and pricing structure. I believe OutSystems can be more flexible in this regard. I also dislike the version control system as it is sometimes inadequate or cumbersome for larger teams working on the same projects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of mundane tasks frees up human resources that can be applied to other areas of the business where more humans are needed.
Focus on Business needs
What do you like best about the product?
The power key business users and product owners have to evaluate new strategies by having powerfull solutions ready very quickly instead of strugling with endless projects. The built-in UI and components are very helpfull.
What do you dislike about the product?
One must be very carefully when engaging a big developers team. Having many developers competing when publishing their last changes to the "code" sometimes can be a painfull process. As the platform's development modus operandi relies strongly on heavy files being transfered over the internet (for cloud based projects), merging and deploying tasks can be a challenge.
That's why it's so important to have in the team someone with expertise in software development processes and software architecture.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've rolled out some strategic projects in just a couple of weeks, re-written legacy systems with huge client satisfaction and guided developers on very short learning curve experiences in the most diversified teams.
