Jamf works as it is advertised
What do you like best about the product?
I like that jamf keeps me from going to each device individually. I can run updates quickly. Support is always helpful. The certification courses and online resources are beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf pro is one of the more expensive products on the market. Switching from JAMF Pro to JAMF school is difficult because I need to connect my ASM to two servers. I also wish there was a way to make multiple local accounts on the device in JAMF or a version or a more cost-effective version of JAMF Connect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the summer, it would take me forever to update computers. Now I have made a policy that quickly installs the DMG file. I also use JAMF to run scripts that lock down student devices.

Jamf Pro makes it pretty easy but not without a few oddities to manage my Apple fleet.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how widely spread Jamf is used in the Apple community and how responsive Jamf Nation is when I have a dilemma or issue that I can't resolve myself. It is also nice that I believe Apple put's it's stamp of approval on it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't know why some endpoints, mostly computers lose connectivity with our Jamf instance for no rhyme or reason and also why some configuration profiles won't install for no apparent reason. The two issues may be related somehow but, that is still a mystery even after speaking with Jamf support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf is solving the issue of our inventory on the Apple side of things in our environment. Also, being able to deploy installations to endpoints by use of SmartGroups has been extremely useful. We have used the Jamf to perform MDM commands like wipe, erase, etc when needed as well.
Great management tool for Apple devices
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf works great when it comes to handling and managing all Apple devices. Whether it's a Mac, iPad, or iPhone, you have the ability to control and administer policy commands, patch updates, and locking/wiping of devices. Would highly recommend it! Plus, you can get certified as well with the MDM and the courses are free to take.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike I have with Jamf is its customer service. Though support reaches out initially in a timely manner, when it comes to follow-ups or repairs, the initial fixes feel more like band-aids than actual repairs. When the issue is escalated, the next team handles the issues phenomenally and follows up and keeps you up-to-date with what's happening or causing your tech issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Patch management when it comes to updating macOS, iOS, or apps that are for Apple products.
Nice bird's eye view
What do you like best about the product?
it allows me to get a sense overall of what is happening with a device and push software as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
not much. the annual recertification for certificates of apple, etc. just something that doesn't happen that often so it is a to do
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the ability to push software and configurations is huge. the added device level security is nice as well.
MacOS System Administrator who actively uses Jamf Pro professionally every day.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can manage a massive fleet of devices across several models for our district. I like the ability to manage scripts and packages for software and view computer records for hardware information inside of Jamf.
What do you dislike about the product?
They constantly are updating the software so while new things are good, they actively will deprecate functions of Jamf so you will need to upgrade the way you do things. I also feel like they have different features between different Jamf apps that should be ported over to Jamf Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps to manage all of our fleet of devices smoothly. Allows us to manage applications for computers and iOS apps for iPads and iPhones. Gives lots of power to admins remotely for devices on and off campus.
Jamf Pro is the best!
What do you like best about the product?
Managing devices and pushing apps takes little to know time. We sync it with our ticket system for reporting and auditing.
What do you dislike about the product?
None at this moment. I have taken a few courses to be familar with it. It will be smart to take as much training as possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management and inventory.
Powerful MDM
What do you like best about the product?
The product speaks for itself, it does what a MDM is meant to do. Empowers us to manage a districts devices with ease and customization for users where needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it helped manage our Windows devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated device setup, manages apps and configurations.
Apple's go to MDM
What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of benefits of Jamf Pro,I think it is easy to use and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
macOS updates are not as streamlined as it can be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying policies and profiles that help make onboarding and setting up a new user.
Jamf Pro is the Standard
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro makes it easy to manage your Apple devices using MDM profiles, custom scripts (macOS), and extension attributes. Smart groups allow admins to manage device states, and new features like App Installers make patching simple for even novice Jamd administrators.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf Pro may be too pricey for some organizations, especially in education, and certain features require a SaaS subscription (App Installers). It would be nice to see the Jamf Pro binary updated to run most, if not all, API commands.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro allows us to manage Apple devices across our company's fleet with an intuitive UI, a native and lightweight agent, a Self-Service app, and up-to-date MDM specifications.
JAMF Expert's Review
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf is cloud-based and doesn't require a VPN to connect to the server.
What do you dislike about the product?
The limited nature of payload options in Patch policy. Not being able to leverage all the psyloads of a standard policy, dates this portion of JAMF
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It replaces the limitation apple DEP presents.
