AGOL platform useful with sales and presentations
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to build an app and share with the organization.
Very useful for presentations and prospecting other organizations.
Very useful for presentations and prospecting other organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to track the connections between the app, corresponding web map, and the MXDs or Pro project that helped to create it.
It would be helpful to be able to see how the web maps are linked to different applications so you have a better understanding of what you are ultimately affecting with edits.
Importing company branding and fonts are helpful.

GIS Online for everyone
What do you like best about the product?
Many types of products for different products to choose from depending on need and skill level
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many different types of products that the right one for a specific need is not always clear.
I don't like how the types of users keeps changing.
I understand how ArcSDE works and how data is saved, related, accessed and versioned. But I'm not sure how layers are stored, related, tracked in AGOL/portal.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing data, real time accessibility and updates. Everyone can access gis and I you have kept me and my skills relevant. I used to be scared that I wouldnt have a job anymore once everyone could do their own gis, but you have made it easy for me to climb the ladder too. Thank you

It’s easy and just works
What do you like best about the product?
That it always has the latest tools and functionality. You do not have to be a developer or know code to make amazing maps and apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
That everyone needs a named user within an organization to view items without sharing them publicly. Be nice to have this available without going to Portal.

Educating the public about our history and current events using story map, apps and ops dashboard.

Awesome ArcGIS online
What do you like best about the product?
Allows users to publish their own maps, allowing sharing and collaborating with many other departments. Allows the GIS team to create quick OTS applications and share them inmediately, securing it as needed within the organization or outside entities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The standard applications provided by application builder are too simple, widgets do not stand up. The user interface is not very friendly, specially for editing. Managing AGOL can be cumbersome; one has to use third party tools to manage users and mailing lists.
Organization of items is not easy to achieve. Everything goes to the root directory by default, and when moving from one user to another, does not create directories by default.
Hosted feature management is almost imposible, changes are very complicated.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many applications have been quickly created and put online with the use of Application builder and AGOL. Standing up applications is an easy process. One can serve static data through web maps and move the load from the enterprise network to the cloud. Security is easy to maintain and control.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plan ahead how will applications be organized. Establish guidelines for users to create applications or web maps, often times, users create applications that are left behind and become obsolete for lack of updates and because the data becomes stale. They are, nevertheless, exposed to the public in general, sending the wrong image and providing the wrong message.
Make sure to clean after users who have not used AGOL in years, or have left the company and have applications or web maps left behind

Occassional User
What do you like best about the product?
The templates make it easy to create slick applications with minimal GIS skills. I'm particularly fond of imbedding options that allow me to combine a variety of functions like dashboards and sliders.
What do you dislike about the product?
That publishing from Pro forcres data to be hosted in a maner that consumes credits instead of sticking to our SDE
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Public outreach regarding project information status and collaboration with member jurisdictions relative to growth forecasting input.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allow server hosted/SDE data publishing from Pro w/o forcing credit consuming AGOL data hosts.
