Textron Axway experience
What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly and easy to grasp from a high level functional standpoint. Axway customer support is always welcoming of our feedback and striving to improve the product. Axway is also helpful when upgrading to newer versions.
What do you dislike about the product?
We saw varieties of issues within server logs and file tracking due to size limitations of files, jobs interfering with each other, DDoS attacks, etc. We since moved to the cloud and managed services, but if we remained on premise, I expect we would still be required to spend a lot of time resolving issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Axway MFT is our solution for file transfers to/from 3rd party business unit partners (vendors, customers, etc.), banking and financial transactions, EDI data, HR data, and more. So it is used internally and externally. We are able to encrypt, compress, sign, connect using the most secure standards, and email when files are not found. We are looking forward to utilizing the new enhancements that continue to come out.
Axway Review
What do you like best about the product?
Axway's Secure Transport gives you all the control you need to easily, securely and safely transfer files. Integrating multiple products from Axway is also quite easy and gives you all the flexibility you will need to keep your business running smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Axway Managed File Transfer can be customized to your needs. All of the customization options can be hard to manage if you don't stay on top of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Axway Managed File Transfer allows us to safely trade files with external parties. It also allows us to trade files with our internal customers across our organization.
Secure Transport is a good tool, but it's so different and not as mature as XFB Gateway
What do you like best about the product?
its API library
the capability to apply all security requirements MTSB defined on the company (RBAC model, SSO, .....etc)
how easy to implement an SFTP transfer
The support behind the tool

The support behind the tool
What do you dislike about the product?
How difficult to implement a PESIT-E and PESIT-E SSL transfer, how the logs on this protocol is not as explicit as the XFB Gateway, lots of PESIT-E capabilites are missing (sending PESIT-E messages, and PESIT-E message types)
How difficult to migrate from XFB Gateway to Secure Transport, how difficult to have Secure Transport experts on the market, how difficult to have feedback from Axway from the migrations they performed on the previous clients
How complexe the architecture is
the Secure Transport Edge is doing more than a simple Reverse proxy, for me it's more better to have a simple Secure Transport Edge as the Secure Relay of the XFB Gateway. Because the Secure Relay was easier to manage since all the logic was centralized on the XFB Gateway server, now on Secure Transport Edge it has some logic even if it doesn't have a Transaction manager you can still as exemple impact the authentication mode of each protocol and change keys and certificates, which make it more complexe to manage a simple connection from or to a partner if we compare it with how it's done on
it takes years to have new features on Secure Transport, especially features that were already available on the XFB Gateway

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
what the MFT tool is solving is the following :
- the fact that companies were put in a dielemme where they don't have choice but to migrate from the XFB Gateway, if the XFB Gateway didn't had an EOL I doubt that lots of your clients will migrate to this tool due to the big differences between the two tools and the fonctionnalities that exists on the old plateform and not on the new one
- although it is true that Secure Transport is solving the problem related to High availability and an easier management of the DR thanks to the business cluster
- Secure Transport has lots of great fonctionnalities and connectors that enables SSO, can connect to S3 buckets and blob storage and other SMB entries
- the security options that the tool has can satisfy the thoughest infrastructure and security requirements on the world
Written from Paris and best of luck evolving the platform and making it easier to use.

A complete MFT application that come with a lot of flexibility and high reliability.
What do you like best about the product?
Clean interface and easy to navigate, but yet powerful enough to support complex configuration. This application also support a large volume of files transfer with high availibility and very reliable. The latest version comes with many integration such as ICAP, HSM, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scalability is not on the level that we expected. To add/delete nodes cannot purely automated and still require a manual involvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Axway MFT serves as a core MFT for the company. It allows us to transfer back with the clients and between business units securely. LEC version is very stable and reduce a lot of down time that we used to have in the past when running with SC.
Incredible experience & travel with Axway till now
What do you like best about the product?
Secure Transport tool is really recommended tool in the market when compared to all other file transfer tools because of their security standards, their commendable tech support, functionality of the tool making things easier. We use the tool On-Prem & one of the instances is hosted in Axway Cloud. We use the tool quite frequently for meeting our Business needs. Tool is quite user friendly to accomodate and integrate with new features. Implementation via Secure Transport has been very easy and a good learning curve to get accustomed with the new technologies of Axway.
I appreciate the Bulgaria Tech support team, they are incredible and are technical savvy, and they helped us alot in overcoming & fixing lot of P1/P2 issues we encountered.

What do you dislike about the product?
Tool remains the same no matter it is managed by Axway Cloud or On-Prem install.
India Tech Team really needs lot of grooming which yet times we felt lagging behind and taking lot of time in addressing the issues.

The managed file transfer is built on some older technology stack and is a staple for Axway. There are updates but security updates to support Oauth features in the connectors is lacking.
