The most stable and reliable Linux based OS

  • September 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is hands-down the most stable Linux client that I have ever used. The community support is extensive and there are many third-party developers actively developing apps and supporting the ecosystem which makes it relatively easy to run and use in legacy systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updates while frequent do sometimes end up breaking functionality and more often than not require a clean instal. The official company support especially on call also leaves a lot to be desired for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for all of our virtual machines, access to which is provided to service providers whom we employ to implement various IT projects across various organization decisions.

RHEL is the most secure and professionally maintained Linux ever.

  • September 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has a simple interface that is easy to access and does not cause hardware constraints. It is secure and has excellent support systems to get help if any problems arise. RHEL is a perfect choice for servers as the system needs almost no downtime for basic stuff. RHEL is also the first choice for software like Cadence. The community forums have experts from all sorts of fields and are helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to say here at all. Except that the code isn't fully open and costs money to maintain, there isn't much of a downside. CentOS is an alternative that has many of the same features but is free and completely accessible by the community, GPL license and everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Webservers need to be secure. While the usual Linux PC world is relatively safe, the same amount of security is generally insufficient for web servers hosting critical information for businesses and services. Softwares like RHEL make the process of securing a server like that much easier compared to that of a usual run-of-the-mill Ubuntu server.

What do you like best about the product?
RHEL provides the consistent, high performance, stable platform in a very cost effective way as compared to Microsoft OS. Perform very well for cloud services development.
What do you dislike about the product?
Training courses, documentation and certification is expensive and I think it requires better user-friendly GUI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Performance and stability is best in this OS and support from red hat is excellent. Runs our high use servers flawlessly.

RHEL is the most reliable operating system

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
whatever application I need to run I found Linux is the best Operating system for it, it's robust by its community, and for Red Hat especially the support is very powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing I dislike, only the support lifecycle for the old versions like V6, I would like it if Red Hat makes a longer support cycle for their Linux versions mainly for the security batches as we still run v6 for some applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
integrations, monitoring, management, and all operating system stuff are available and in the best way at RHEL Linux.
whatever problems i face during any phase of our operation, I can find strong support from a very professional guy of Red Hat.

The best and most respected Linux distribution for business

  • September 09, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Red Hat since RH 6.0 in 1999 and RHEL since it was introduced in 2003. It is the only software product I've been using throughout my career without feeling the need to replace it, which is proof of Red Hat's long-term commitment to quality and reliability. The best part about RHEL is the long release cycles and extended maintenance and support for major versions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to RHEL is the price. With the introduction of RHEL in 2003, Red Hat went to free to a rather expensive subscription model! I suppose they were pioneers of this model because now the SaaS/subscription model is commonplace amongst all software vendors. Ultimately, if you're a business, you need stability, security and reliability, and that's what you pay for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a solid, reliable OS that my company relies on for 90% of its servers. We use RHEL Standard for standalone servers and RHEL for Datacenters with unlimited VM support in our datacentres and other large environments. It allows us to streamline the management of our infrastructure and makes it possible to keep our 700+ servers and VMs running and up to date with only two sysadmins.

One of the best and most reliable Operating system in the market

  • September 09, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The community, vendor and company support for RHL is great.
Without worrying about stability issues, one can deploy for production environments.
Also, the software support for RHEL almost 100%, so there is no need to build some software from source code.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing cost is the only factor to consider when suggesting it to a client .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed to have a stable env that wouldn't need upgrading for some time for an onsite server not connected to the internet.
Have been using the same RHEL version for two years now. Works just great. And the long release cycle is just perfect for planning upgrades
