A reliable and easy-to-use solution that is reasonably priced

How has it helped my organization?
The product makes our organization more secure.
What is most valuable?
Duo is reliable and easy to use. I’m pretty happy with all of the features. The user experience is pretty good. People without any technical background can run the applications without any issues.
What needs improvement?
The technical engineers in the first line of support should improve their knowledge. We often have to bounce all the cases to different levels.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Duo Security for more than ten years.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support is pretty responsive. When there was an issue, support was able to provide a solution.

How was the initial setup?
From the security team’s perspective, the solution is pretty easy to deploy. From an end user’s perspective, it is very easy to download it and add the device to the profiles.
What about the implementation team?
We deploy the solution in-house.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is reasonable.
What other advice do I have?
Since I'm not an admin, I don't know how the device gets set up. The product is pretty good at securing our infrastructure. It protects everything and hardly leaves anything open. The infrastructure is secured.
Duo Security cannot do it all when it comes to reducing the risk of breaches. It can probably provide up to 50%, and the rest depends on the user. Things like phishing emails depend on the user. There is nothing that Duo Security can't do. The product does a pretty good job of protecting the infrastructure.
Duo Security’s user authentication and device verification are very good and very reliable. When we get a message to upgrade, we upgrade the tool. I don't have to spend a lot of time to get the device up to date.
The solution is reliable for establishing trust for every access request. It definitely is able to establish trust for the identity to protect the infrastructure. Our organization doesn’t necessarily believe that all resources must be considered external. We try to strike a balance between convenience and security. We don't treat everything as external. We keep certain internal stuff that doesn't have to go through the authentication.
The product increases the awareness of the employees about cybersecurity. Every time I log in, a Duo box pops up saying that I am authenticated and not leaving everything wide open. Try it and get a trial base, and then you will see the difference the tool can make.
Duo is the first platform that we used. My organization did an analysis to see how many potential attacks we'll have and how much money will be lost if we do not deploy Duo. I am not sure about the metrics, though.
Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.

What is our primary use case?
We try to use the solution for pretty much everything that we can use with it. The tool helps us to get into our dashboard APIs, and log into Citrix, VPN, and servers.
What is most valuable?
I love Duo Security's push notifications. It's simple, fast, and secure. From the user's perspective, the solution is seamless. The security aspect is great.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using the product for about two to three years in our company.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I haven't seen any reason to think the solution is unstable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product is very scalable from what I have seen.
How are customer service and support?
The solution's support is pretty good. It helped us quite a bit. Both Meraki and TAC have been pretty helpful.
How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We switched to Duo Security due to the cybersecurity threats that came with COVID. There was a big one that came against us at one time, but we were able to squash it pretty quickly. The threat was not able to get into the mainframe because of the solution.
How was the initial setup?
The tool's setup was easy and we didn't require too much outside help to set it up.
What was our ROI?
As a network and security guy, security is my return and it has been better with the product's use.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. Duo Security can get spotty at the back end but it doesn't break. It would be great if I could use the product to log into the routers or switches in the infrastructure. We already have Active Directory enabled in our routers and switches. However, if we could do two-factor authentication, then it could go a long way since no one's getting into them unless you want them to. We are all for more security in healthcare.

What do you dislike about the product?
Duo Security is an excellent security solution, and I can only think of a couple very minor areas for improvement. One of the limitations is the potential dependency on mobile devices for authentication. While Duo offers various authentication methods, such as push notifications and hardware tokens, the reliance on mobile devices might not be ideal for individuals who prefer not to use or carry them. Additionally, in certain scenarios, the requirement for an internet connection to complete the authentication process could pose challenges, especially in remote environments with restricted wifi. Although these limitations are relatively minor, they are worth considering for users seeking alternative authentication options or facing connectivity constraints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Duo Security provides an easy to use solution for security measures. What sticks out the most is it's robustness and friendly UI that can appeal to even people outside of tech. However, I do think that Duo could make their product easier to implement, especially at a small scale for small startups and students without the resources of larger corporations.

What do you like best about the product?
Duo security app can be easily downloaded through play store. It can be setup easily and use. All the access related to company sites or apps can be authenticate securely via duo security application. It helps remote employees to connect the remote servers without any problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes user needs to try couple of passcode to take security access of the company site but it happens very rarely it's not an big issue. Otherwise the application is best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As we are working remotely it's a challenge to maintain a security of taking access of any company related work here Duo app plays an important role for authentication process.

It was easy to install and verification is almost instant when accessing for my company VPN.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you do not click on approve quickly enough the request can time out causing the verification to fail.

It ensures that access to the sensitive information my company handles is limited to those who should have access.

The MFA is something we've needed, and the push option makes it easy for the users to authenticate.

Nothing specific about duo. Some users don't appreciate the added step, but the understand the need.

Duo security is solving the biggest problem of IT world by providing a form of authentication to access a app/tool. In this drastically changing technology world hacking has become a serious issue, any hacker can easily crack your password but with the help of Duo security we are now secured as only after authenticating access from duo security our access to app/tool will be granted.
We have been using Duo Security since about 2014 and it has worked well for our officers.

Very little has to be done in the system, it just works. Very few problems over 8 years of use.

May just be our older system, but would like more automation with Active Directory.
