Transformed Our Non-Profit's Workflows

What do you like best about the product?
At Ampere, our mission is to bring STEAM education to rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across Canada. With limited resources but ambitious goals, we needed a project management tool that could help us work as efficiently as a for-profit business while staying focused on our mission to make a meaningful impact.

Monday's Project Management tool has become the backbone of how we run our operations, from program delivery to donor management to tracking our social impact. Specifically for our team that has grown rapidily post-pandemic, it’s been a game-changer in aligning our team, streamlining processes, and ensuring we have the shared view of work from any location, which was a pain point when everyone all of a sudden worked remotely. Now we have that shared view and common processes, that make it easy to know the status of everything in play!

One of the biggest boosts for us has been the WorkForms feature. With multiple teams working across different areas—programs, fundraising, operations, —tracking requests did not exist, responsibilities were unclear on task assignments. So now we all use WorkForms for all new incoming work requests or projects, and everything is automated, tracked, and connected, so there’s no more missed requests.

Custom Support has been good, despite the limitations of the plan available for Non Profits.

Implementation and intergation has been a relatively low lift, with a semi formal change management approach and ongoing intenal coaching on process development and sharing of tips & tricks on the platform.
We are up to 70% adoption in just over 1 year, across all departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve for customization and setting up workflows takes time, but it's worth it. You’ll need to invest some effort upfront to learn and test a few automations before you can be confident that you are not missing updates/changes/dates/or tasks.

Some of the most powerful tools (like detailed user permisions and deeper analytics) are locked behind higher-priced plans which not for profits can get but they pay full price (no discount), so being creative and flexible has led to the best results in board designs.

If your team frequently works in remote areas with spotty connectivity, you might need to use offline mode, and most updates will get posted when back online.

How I Use Monday.com
Recruiting & Onboarding
Monday.com simplifies recruiting by allowing me to create detailed workflows for each stage of the hiring process. From tracking candidates’ progress to automating follow-ups, I can manage it all in one place. Onboarding new hires is just as seamless with customized templates that keep everything organized and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Client Management
My clients use Monday.com for onboarding, project management, offboarding, and even new hire communication. I customize boards to match their needs, making it easy for them to stay on top of their business operations.

Revenue Tracking
Monday.com is also my go-to for keeping an eye on my business's financial health. I track revenue streams and client billing, ensuring that I always know where I stand. The visual dashboards make it easy to see everything at a glance.

Storing Brand Assets
I love using Monday.com to store my brand assets. Logos, templates, and marketing materials are all neatly organized and easily accessible, saving me time and ensuring consistency.

Assigning tasks to my team is a breeze. Everyone knows their responsibilities, deadlines, and priorities because it's all laid out clearly. The communication features, like comments and updates, keep us connected and in sync.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there’s not much to dislike about Monday.com—it’s an incredible tool! But if I had to pick one thing, it would be the process of setting up connections between boards. While the functionality is powerful and allows for great automation and cross-board collaboration, I’ve found it to be a bit tricky and time-consuming at times.

That said, once the connections are in place, they work seamlessly, and the platform is still one of the most user-friendly tools I’ve ever worked with. It’s a small trade-off for the immense value Monday.com brings to my business!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping my business and myself organized! Ensuring that tasks that need to be completed are done timely and accurately.

What do you like best about the product?
monday.com has completely changed the way we work, in the best way. We first started using monday.com 3 years ago for task management. Granted, we didn't really have a similar tool in place at the time (not sure how). Now, we do pretty much all of our task management / internal review processes / campaign management in monday.com. Boards are incredibly easy to set up, edit, and customize. Pretty much everything in monday.com is very user-friendly and intuitive. Everyone on our team loves it. Over the years, I've also come to appreciate how a lot of documents, conversations, etc. now live in monday.com even after team members leave, rather than being forever hidden in their email inboxes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There honestly isn't really anything that I dislike about monday.com. It has been such a positive and helpful addition to our workflows. I haven't really ever had any issues with it in the 3 years we've used it. I've had a few small issues/questions, and the chat support is super helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
monday.com is has helped solve the problems that we used to have related to task management and internal review processes. Now, it is super easy for everyone on our team to keep track of everything, stay organized, and stay up to date with the transparency that monday.com allows (seeing status updates vs not having access to conversations in people's email inboxes). This has allowed us to work more efficiently, have better transparency and shared awareness, and also keep our internal review processes super organized so that we maintain legal and brand compliance with everything that we're working on (nothing falls through the cracks).

I love that one monthly payment allows for 3 people to share one account! This CRM is great and I would recommend it to anyone!

Best work management software. I've tried several!

What do you like best about the product?
I love the logic behind the boards and the overall setup. I tried several other work management platforms that claimed to be easier to use, but they were not. While Monday has a learning curve, it is definitely worth the effort to learn it. I prefer to start with the best rather than switch to it later after trying out other options! I use this platform for all my projects, and it makes my life so much easier!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike having to pay for three seats and the lack of a single-user option. As a solopreneur, the recent price increase strains my finances. It’s frustrating to be charged for three seats when I typically only pay for a single seat with other software. Additionally, each integration, such as Mailchimp and Gmail, requires its own monthly subscription. Since I already pay for a Mailchimp account, it feels unfair to be charged double just to integrate the two. I also pay for a business domain, so I don't understand why there's an extra charge for that. It seems that the cost of using Monday should cover everything the software offers. For example I use Dubsado as my CRM, and all their integrations come with the cost of the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It tracks my time and project process seamlessly. I am collecting data that I can actually understand and use to adjust my processes!

Intuitive and easily keeps team organized

What do you like best about the product?
The communication tools and different ways to visualize tasks works great for a remote team comprised of various roles. Templates help refresh everything for a new year quickly and make it easy to plan projects and assign tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found many downsides for my team particularly. The only potential downside might come for planning larger projects. If you need a big overview but also have to drill down into various different parts of the project, it may be challenging on the setup side but there are a lot of templates to help get started. I have found if I spend a little more time thinking through the setup, everything I need is there and works great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monday Work Management really helped visualize workloads. This helped us adjust expectations and give clear views of how much work goes into completing projects. We can give more realistic time frames and have a very small team working on various projects without losing track or missing deadlines.

What do you like best about the product?
I can organize my projects, assign tasks and have all messages and files in one single space. I also use the mobile app to solve things from everywhere on the go
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot, or do not know how to, integrate a custom domain email for automatic messages
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since monday OS is very versatile, we can have a good virtual space for the diferent types of projects we do ( architecture, web design, books, building management, scientific journal consultancy). We can build and customize boards and add new columns and functions when needed

What do you like best about the product?
It's a very good system, easy to use and understand. I use it daily, and it greatly helps with task organization. The number of tools is vast, and the integration with Outlook is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the system has proven to be a bit unstable, and the limitation of elements and automations was somewhat disappointing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monday helps me, especially with the large number of daily tasks. It has made controlling the workflow much easier.

Subtasks is an addon, one more layer could be better without the need to pay and teach how to use it more efficiently. App could be better.
