Fast, great quality panels and very reliable!

  • December 19, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The quality of the panels is outstanding and reflected in the quality of the replies! The chat customer service team is also great and always available. The videos can be watched in fast speed mode etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of UX is unnecessarily complicated - for example, it took me ages to figure out how to switch between quant and qual accounts. I also think the panels could be more international - it's hard to recruit German, French and Spanish users, for instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working to localize our website experience to do justice to the cultural differences that exist between users' preferences. Evaluation of new feature ideas, exploratory research, benchmarking etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Brilliant for research with US and EN-speaking participants, but not for non-EN work - let's hope that changes soon!

Powerful and immediate

What do you like best about the product?
How simple it is to set up a test, and how you can focus on getting value feedback rather than the admin of overseeing tests.
What do you dislike about the product?
My team and I would love it if comments were assigned to profiles so we can see who said what.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team can save a lot of time through UserTesting. It means that when features move to development, we are a lot more certain that we're barking up the right tree. It gives us access to people with specific requirements that would be taken weeks to find ourselves.

Easy to use for usability and qualitative research

  • December 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly construct a test of any kind using previous tests, by copying and editing. A huge time saver. Also the editing capabilities when reviewing videos and the new transcription feature are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few work arounds to use your own participants and pay them incentives. It would be great to easily be able to add people from our customer pool and assign them a test as well as pay them with our own company gift card for their time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting has always been a great way to reach people who are prospective customers that we don't have access to from our customer database, ensuring that we get feedback not only from our loyal customers but customers to be. It balances our research to provide feedback from both points of view.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set up practice tests and hav a well thought out screener before launching your test. Test it yourself, and then only launch a pilot before launching the entire test to make sure that there aren't any hiccups you didn't anticipate. After watching the pilot test once completed by a user, make edits and launch the balance of your tests.

Fast, reflective feedback from actual users

  • December 18, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to launch a test and get feedback relatively fast. I havent had to wait more than a few hours and this includes occasions when there were multiple screener questions. The ability to rate users so over time the quality of the feedback keeps on getting better.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be expensive at times and harder to justify for small teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Usability testing for a variety of different demographics. Collecting feedback and ideas on future releases, allows us to prioritize some features over the other.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your product needs to scale and time is of an essence in your development cycle. This tool is great !
The feedback on usability tests can guide all members of the team and also shut down unnecessary design by committee meetings.
If you are a small team and dont use it every week, it might get expensive and you might have to connect with them to offer you a more customized plan.

UserTesting.com is Making Usability Testing Quick and Accessible!

  • December 10, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love the UserTesting panel. The turn-around for testing is so quick when you carefully screen the UserTestiung panel, and I can get answers in less than a day in some cases! I also love that it integrates with Optimal Workshop in order to get us access to card sorts and tree testing!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how touchy the video editing software is.. it's difficult to get an exact quote. It also would be great to be able to copy a test between MyRecruit (your own customers) and their panel. Right now you need to rebuild the test from scratch if you change audiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving usability issues, navigation issues, design challenges, and getting user feedback in a qualitative format. We've gotten large improvements in user comprehension by using UserTesting.com to test with users. It's a great iterative testing tool with a potentially fast turnaround time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The upfront cost is considerable, but if you can afford it the rewards are great. This tool allows you to reach out to potentially millions of users that you can screen to fit your target and record behavior and feedback, instant video clips... it's really a great way to fit UX research into your business, especially if you have varied / unusual customer demographics or you have no usability lab. At least do a trial and see if it's for you.

UserTesting has given our design team time and trust.

  • November 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting is a cost-effective and convenient tool for user testing. I can create a test plan and, in less than an hour, receive feedback from users. This gives me the information I need to design new products and test those that have already been shipped. Additionally, UserTesting has been useful for competitive research.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the analyzer screen for the questions can be a bit confusing, so it would be good to simplify that. I also think it would be good to be able to start testing from the first screen because most of the time you are just iterating the filters and don't have to go through the whole process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personally, I use UserTest to test the mobile application from the idea stages to live product testing. We have realized that sometimes less is more, but also sometimes a little additional information is required.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The evaluators are good, but I think some rush through tests to earn more money. The process to conduct a test is difficult.

UserTesting: User testing and experiential research made easy

  • November 24, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It surprises me to see how usertesting.com is able to find very specific user groups based on a set of screening questions. I have used it for several corporate and B2B websites with very unique users, and I was able to get results in a few hours or a day at the longest.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many participants seem to be "professional" testers, they provide excellent feedback but they are a bit more savvy than your typical user. There are ways to work around this, simply by better filtering them or activating the fresh eyes option to avoid having the same people over and over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We discover if the words and phrases we use are the same as those used by your audience. We mainly work on concepts and find that this gives us a good starting point.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
UT is undoubtedly the best tool that exists. It is much better than the competition in almost every aspect. It also becomes very good at moderate sessions and will surpass all competitions in this area due to the communication tool used (Zoom).

A No-Brainer

  • November 01, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how quickly user tests come back in, and how we can see their screens, and listen to their feedback. I can launch a test at 6pm, and I'll full results back before I get into the office in the morning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love more opportunities and options to share out results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It cuts dev time in half, and our whole design process. I am able to test prototypes without relying on dev to build out multiple options to run A/B tests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are in the user research space, and are looking to streamline the testing process, UserTesting is a no brainer. With accessibility to a huge range of users, it's easy to find or select a panel of users fitting specific criteria. There's really no reason for customer-centric orgs to NOT use UserTesting.

Fantastic for lightweight iterative testing of non-sensitive projects

  • November 01, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Rapid feedback, easy to iterate on projects and get directional feedback. Easy to use and rapidly improving. Extremely responsive customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing structure changes two years ago added significant barriers to usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Content refinement, design refinement, identify discoverability problems, attitudes, and comprehension of a multiplicity of projects. This platform has enabled me to quadruple user research efforts at my current company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fantastic platform enabling rapid iterative testing; it's not without limitations but is a phenomenal tool for scaling up user research.
