Necessary for understanding your user
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting has the largest user base in their panel, and they let you get really specific, so you can really narrow down to your target audience.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's pretty expensive and their plans are not that flexible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting allows us to understand who are users are, what their pain points are, and pair qualitative insights with quantitative data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're not already doing a form of user testing, you should be getting real user feedback.

A+ Experience!
What do you like best about the product?
I receive quick results and useful feedback from consumers every time I use User Testing! It is an easy to use platform and they offer helpful customer support. This tool has definitely improved my research toolbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting layout of tasks can be glitchy at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User Testing allows for my team to test the functionality of our digital channels. Through the use of this service, we can easily identify pain points in navigation/design.
Great tool for UX Researchers!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how fast it is! It helps us run research quickly and effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are working on building up new features that we don't currently have access to (ex. survey tools, repository). The card sorting feature could use improvement but I understand it's being worked on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us get quick feedback on generative research and we also use it to get feedback on prototypes we want to test
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have fun with it!
A Must-Have for Any Company
What do you like best about the product?
The intuitive tool guarantees results each time. If you ever need help, the employees in chat are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and will get you the right answer each time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had a product that would track success as the testers work through the challenges.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily work on improving the design and UX of a website. After developing prototypes and drafting initial designs, our team uses UserTesting to gain insights on our ideas. Many times, we will run multiple UserTests to specifically drill down on our objectives or any new information gathered from the test. In the end, we have a data set that we can present to our larger team to make an informed decision about website changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It should be a no-brainer. This product is easy to use, incredibly reliable and extremely insightful. Our team does not provide any new recommendations without conducting a UserTest.
Pinnacle to our UX Process to gather user insights
What do you like best about the product?
My organization loves how we can gather qualitative insights quickly so we can iterate on design concepts, prototypes, strategy, and live products to direct us on next steps.
What do you dislike about the product?
UserTesting makes it fairly simple to write user tests with templates, however if you have not stepped into the user research space, it can be more daunting. A good place to start is the University to learn more about user research.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Navigation and find-ability in prototypes, mobile app and responsive website testing, marketing preferences, and lexicon concepts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Usertesting.com is an awesome way to gather quick results. If you are not familiar writing test questions, I do recommend using their templates, University, or consulting with a UX Researcher to ensure you gather the data you need.
Makes getting quality insight easy!
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to get quality customer insight with the tools UserTesting.com enables users with.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I dislike. Sometimes my prototypes get cached and I've had studies go haywire because of questions not matching up, but I'm not sure that was UT's fault. That's where in-person has an advantage - the ability to improvise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User testing prototypes to ensure usability of solutions to customer problems.
A great platform for reaching out to eager users
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to set-up and run quick experiments on knowledgeable individuals; love the compiled results in spreadsheet output format, this helps my team spend their efforts on designing the next experiment instead of compiling and preparing the results
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it seems like a user pool can be quite limited when specifying FreshEyes, it would be great if UT would recruit in those areas when it sees slow or limited qualification. The automatic transcripts are often of poor quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing mobile and web interfaces. So great to see and hear the user's experiences and be able to run through them in an accelerated speed immediately after completion
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommend this as a great go to in checking the attractiveness, responsiveness and usability of mobile and web experiences across multiple computing platforms
One of the best tools out there for user research
What do you like best about the product?
Quality of participants, ease of recruitment, highlight reel capabilities, ease of using metrics
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing videos isn’t the easiest, transcript (beta) needs more work in terms of accuracy, annual subscription cost
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Evaluative research, being able to take time-sensitive research questions and turn around a study within a day or two
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If cost is a consideration for your company, consider how often you will need to test and compare the per-study cost with some of the alternatives in the market. Usertesting is great for being able to test as often as you want, but for instance a very small company might not have enough to test to justify the annual subscription plan. They do offer different tiers, but the startup plan is very limiting.
Empowering a Non Profit to Increase its Impact
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting demonstrates a strong desire for social impact and specifically supports my organization with its OneWorld Grant. The product makes it simple to specify a target audience, create tests, and share insights with the rest of the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was somewhat difficult to use on mobile without an app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting has been instrumental in empowering my organization to improve our digital and in-person services and products. We are continuously learning how strangers in our target market (of volunteers and donors) view our products, services, and brand, and we leveragw these insights to iterate on them and increase our impact.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learning Navigator is a great resource to learn the basics of UserTesting. The Customer Success Team is also very responsive. UserTesting is rolling out new products such as marketing insights which will help improve success in other areas of the organization.
Great options for companies, few opportunities for users.
What do you like best about the product?
Very easily get connected to users who match the demographic profile you are looking for. A low cost way to send small surveys and have have more confidence that you are hiring the best users for your study. The app and entire ecosystem make it really easy to use the platform, inspiring confidence in the user test results themselves. Additionally it makes it easy for a company to operate either remotely or with team members spread across the country.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the user side, you spend significant effort filling out surveys for free and hoping to be selected. This leads to fatigue and a decrease in answer quality which can impact the selection process. It is harder dealing with subjects that are so well trained to be talking through what they are doing and thinking. In practice this means that frequently you end up with trained user testers and there is limited exposure to users who are using this type of technology for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting connected to users who are most like our user population without having to treat customers as lab rats. Fundamentally we are looking to explore which designs / experiences will resonate best with our customers and work to change their behaviours. This is only possible by exploring many paths in a low fidelity way. Usertesting makes it really easy to scale the number of paths we are working on because we don't need to worry about managing a recruiting pool or tapping it dry too early in the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try the trial is excellent
