Transformed our UX Research practice!
What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy to draft up and launch tests, and insights come in so quickly! Their templates are super useful and their Support staff is always there if you have a question. I'm also obsessed with the Highlight reel creator - it's insanely easy to make clips and piece together videos for hard-hitting insight reels to share with the team with the simple copy/paste of a hyperlink. Plus, we love the Live Convos feature - these are practically on demand 1:1 user interviews. Can't say enough good things about the platform - don't know what I'd do as a researcher without UT.com!
What do you dislike about the product?
Recently I've needed to test cross-devices (pushing a user desktop to app, for example) which isn't supported yet in Unmoderated testing. I also think the Transcription could be improved a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying issues in core shopping flows, understanding natural user behavior on certain sites/pages, assessing the performance of prototypes of upcoming feature work/experiences. This platform really helps us keep tabs on our current experience + ensures our future experiences are vetted before they go live.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Leverage the templates & Learning Navigator provided by UT.com, + their support staff and your customer success manager!

Great Experience with User Testing!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to source rapidly is amazing. I really appreciate it's ability to help us scale our research practice
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I dislike the quality of users. The training they receive can smetimes be detrimental to our goals
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to understand users' needs and make sure our products meet their spoken and unspoken needs. We've reliably been able to relay these insights to our partners
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend that Usertesting users really jump in and try using the platform. I think it has potential to serve almost any industry
Overall great experience with opportunity to be better with more interactive help and screening.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to get started and run a test quickly with high confidence that we'll get back actionable results.
What do you dislike about the product?
troubles with users not following directions and wasting time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We often run testing on prototypes of New feature flows we are working on. Good to validate that folks are understand a process and are getting information and help where they need it. We often get broadly applicable insights from even small, narrowly defined tests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think about what you want to get out of you test and how you might communicate that to stakeholders before starting to run tests
Start-up business greatly benefits from using UserTesting—highly recommend the investment!
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting provides fast and actionable results. Our team can make decisions by end of day based on real users!
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a few times that a user has had some technical issues (links not loading, prototypes being frozen), but every time UserTesting has replaced that user.

As a multi-channel company, we test a lot! We have an unlimited testing plan so we try to launch a few tests a week for all teams at the company. We've realized our tests have cross-functional impacts. Some common tests:
1) Competitor comparison: how does our site/feature compare to similar companies?
2) Design validation: do people like a design/feature before we build it?
3) What are user's perceptions around non-design things like shipping, pricing, and copy

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get your whole company involved! I've run a few lunch and learns/trainings and the more people are interested, the more they'll want to be involved!
Great way to quickly reach relevant users for qualitative testing
What do you like best about the product?
The review features like being able to cut clips, annotate, and share those out easily, has made it super easy to share research out with the product team and get by in outside of just research/design.
What do you dislike about the product?
I know there are some integrations with things like Optimal Sort which I haven't fully explored but I'd love to see more flexibility in ways we can conduct research while tapping into the great usertesting.com network of testers/audiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Validating both explorative ideas as well as usability testing. I use it for qualitative interviews and then for more nitty gritty UI details.
Usertesting is one of the most favorable portals to host a study on in these quarantine times!
What do you like best about the product?
Instant access to the database of users...and the fact that all studies have a voice recording.
What do you dislike about the product?
The survey capabilities can be improved a whole lot
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick usability studies on digital features. Consumer insights on behavior patterns and lifestyles.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It definitely adds value to your research, with the voice capture feature!
Great for small batch remote UX research, Not as great with quantitative research.
What do you like best about the product?
Enables us to launch research that fills up quickly with participants who give great feedback. Like the note taking and video sharing features of user testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could have a more simply formatted excel sheet that is shared out. Also wish that user testing could enable us to do larger quantitative studies. It would be amazing to be able to use it as a one stop shop for user testing. Also with each update to the UI the way we plan and schedule tests feels more convoluted. I wish they could think through a simple way to save and choose a set of screener questions. Especially for large corporate accounts that multiple teams fall under like ours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving problems around how to structure UI/UX for banking customers both in the marketing/selling space and in servicing. We've seen great benefits for quick turnaround testing and quickly recieving feedback.
UserTesting is really good for Usability Testing, but be cautious of "Professional Testers"
What do you like best about the product?
The tools for setting up a test, as well as for evaluation and note taking are really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pool of users have begun to come across as "Professional Users" and do not accurately reflect users which are less experienced in digital products – we've seen differences in users which come from our own recruitment methods and those directly from UserTesting. In addition, when introducing screeners to weed out certain users, sometimes some users get through who seem to have figured out a way to always qualify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User Testing helps us spin up tests quickly to catch problems early and often.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It really is a great tool for usability testing if you can weed out the professional users and find the users that really do match your audience. There are not logic based survey questions included – which I think could be really useful.
Helpful for remote testing capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Seeing interactions and hearing oral feedback
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes laggy/slow, but may not be UT's fault
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to capture data from multiple users quickly. Quick turnaround
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand users' remote capabilities and train them on expectations for remote testing.
