Easy tool to gather and synthesize findings
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the the ability to clip quotes heard, this allows me to to share opportunities with key stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the clips would sometimes be more accurate, sometimes I have to rewrite the clipped quotes to match exactly what is being said.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to quickly get research done when internal research doesn't have the bandwidth.

It's useful and very fast to get responses you need to further your analysis.

Being able to quickly receive feedback on ideas and prototypes to validate assumptions or design.

The quality of each test can differ. Sometimes the amount of detail in a test is lacking.

Whether a customer segment would like a certain product. And what customers have to say about the design of an app.
UserTesting Brings Quick and Actionable Feedback
What do you like best about the product?
We have easy access to real users and receive quick feedback on real sites/ads as well as prototypes. Our team is able to easily create and deploy tests, screened to a relevant target audience and quickly dissect critical issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found there are some positivity biases and it can be difficult to get critical feedback. It increases the burden on asking the right questions which means that while the tests are easy to create, it requires someone very critical to design the test.s
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to try new app designs and have relied on it heavily with new website feature development. Additionally, it's been useful to get thick, rich description of how our target audience reacts to our advertisements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend that users understand that question and test design are critical. Make sure you are asking thoughtful questions that prompt detailed and precise feedback and avoid "everything looks great!"
Even great for a specific demographics
What do you like best about the product?
We were able to recruit users with our very specific demographics: industry, job role, etc which was so great. We got to get insights from our competitors too as some of them are customers using our competitors' software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is hefty. Almost a full time hire a year.

No other problems.

It was good - then it got expensive.

I like the platform for the user testing. Easy to use.

The pricing went from a "buy credits" to needing to pay for way more than we needed. So it was too expensive to keep.

We are a small company and we need to find quick ways to user test as needed. UT helped us with that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go back to allow the purchasing of credits so smaller companies can still use your product.

User Testing provides a great resource for researchers while being simple enough for designers and PMs to use independently.

What do you dislike about the product?
Using My Recruit - we still use it and like it, but I think there's room for improvement. It is a big lift to email a large pool of our customers and ask them to download the software and go through an unfamiliar flow. A simplified UX might be better for My Recruit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use usertesting.com frequently for usability projects, prototype reviews, and occasionally for generative research. We catch a lot of unpleasant experiences - generally I'm already aware of them working in design research, but clips and highlight reels provide great ammo when making my case to stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It takes a bit of time to get familiar with the UX but the best way is just to dive in.

Understanding potential demand of a new product, and also understanding feedback from users.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've done more user and market research through UserTesting than we have done before with other platforms. Not only are we able to do do user testing on our current prototypes, but we're also able to just send out surveys to find the right users to do background research that will yield insights to later drive design decisions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely take advantage of all of the features of the platform AFTER testing. We just found out about the highlight reel, and are excited to use it in our next presentation. I'm sure there are other features we haven't taken advantage of yet, and look forward to finding/learning about and implementing them!
