UserTesting is friggin amazing, but not for everything
What do you like best about the product?
I love how quickly I can get detailed feedback from real users on prototypes of all fidelity levels.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not so much a dislike as it is simply a limitation of doing virtual testing – some of the intent is lost when testing more nuanced flows (shopping for insurance, filing claims, other things that are emotionally charged).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting extends the capability of our user researchers as well as product designers. It makes it easy to get insightful feedback and share it out with other stakeholders via video nuggets.

Great Platform

Gives us a quick read on usability tests and provides a much shortened timeline for implementing changes.

Issues with customers dropping out of our sales funnel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the trial and see if it works for you!
6 years in and it's the best remote testing tool there is.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that my team can have users review our work within 2 hours of launching the test.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all participants are equal. Recently, we have had to remove 20% or more for not completing the tasks correctly or giving up early.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You don't know what you don't know. Users tell us where problems are that we normally wouldn't realize. We've increased conversion across several pages of our site thanks to users' feedback.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's the best remote testing platform there is. Most test are completed within 2 hours which means design changes can be made same-day.
Good tool for product designers
What do you like best about the product?
As a designer on the team, it has been a light weight tool to use and allows our researchers to dedicate their time to larger, foundational studies, rather than usability.
What do you dislike about the product?
The spam from all the emails that each study returns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly used for usability testing. Quick recruiting, completion, and early data output for quick iteration.
Amazing Tool to get real insights
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that you can get fast actionable intel from real world users. We use this tool to make design decisions on a regular basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only feature I wish was expanded was the amount of testers you can have at any one time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Userability for website redesign or design in general. We have been able to allow our design team to continue to innovate while also getting real feedback from our demographic
Works great for new verbs existing users for the product
What do you like best about the product?
Preference testing, screening users, being able to set the dimensions for users
What do you dislike about the product?
the interface gets a little glitchy when setting the test up, users not being truthful in order to pass the screener questions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
quick feedback from users in order to iterate quickly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
good for quantity of users, quick feedback
Easy, quick, and customer-focused.
What do you like best about the product?
It's so quick to get conversational feedback and intuitive to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not easy to synthesize results in a way that is easy for partners to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving for any disconnects between what people see when interacting with content and what they take away from the experience. We have realized placement and location of assets matters in a customer's journey.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand the order in which you ask questions matters in the kind of feedback you get! Start general and then narrow.
Surprisingly effective approach to insight research
What do you like best about the product?
That it melds together the quantitative and qualitative sides of research in an effective way. The counting of themes and word choice is a great thing to understand from a top level. And the interviews them selves, and the method, really seem to prompt genuine thoughts. As opposed to an open ended survey, where you have to think and then note your thoughts, this is free speaking of thoughts as they come to them, which is more valuable in my experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
The output of data could be a little more manageable. The Excel sheets are somewhat unwieldy, especially when it's a long interview.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to understand the job a piece of content should do. So we're asking "how would you use this" "what would you change about this in order for it to accomplish this task well for you".
The benefits we've realized are that there is no limit to the responses, almost like a conversation (unlike a short survey, which is our typical approach to consumer insights). It's like talking to someone about something, all kinds of thoughts and opinions come to them throughout the process that you don't get from a online or written assessment.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will be surprised by what you learn. Which when you don't necessarily have a strict hypothesis you're looking to prove, can be fascinating and highly valuable. It's a simple, clear, quick, and effective way to source the right opinions on something before a soft launch. It's like a soft soft launch.
Great intuitive user experience, & prompt customer support including during the interviews.
What do you like best about the product?
The amount and speed of customer support
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to screen out frequent participants
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick iterative testing.
It's always easy and there when you need it. Can't really imagine designing without usertesting
What do you like best about the product?
Audiences that can be tailored to your needs
What do you dislike about the product?
The overlays that block testers from seeing some of the UI elements of my designs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly design and usability problems, less on usefulness
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it each time you have to do usability tests. It does pay off
