Great for testing collateral
What do you like best about the product?
We have found User Testing gives us a lot of flexibility to test ideas no matter where we are in the in the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had some challenges in the past with getting people outside of our team into the tool to listen to customer feedback directly, but most often it is behavior driven and not a limitation of the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have found User Testing gives us a lot of flexibility to test ideas no matter where we are in the in the process. We have even used it to test content for printed pieces of collateral (along with form) to make sure we are getting the message just right.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just get in there and experiment. Doesn't have to be perfect the first time around.

A useful product for any UX team or researcher
What do you like best about the product?
Responsive support, a fairly good panel, being able to run a lot of tests to get good data
What do you dislike about the product?
To make an app build for UserTesting requires extra developer work, which often results in bugs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used UserTesting for usability research as well as messaging and branding work. We've been able to spot issues in the product that might otherwise have been hard to reason about.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's not perfect, but it's the best solution we've found in the space. Compared to others, the support and continued innovation are impressive and worth the cost.
UserTesting feedback
What do you like best about the product?
I like how quickly you can get results back and participants using both the moderated and unmoderated testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes making the video clips can be wonky and cut of too early or too late. I also strongly dislike that here is no return to the top button and I am required to scroll a lot through the pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to reach a larger audience base of prospective students and parents of prospective students to test our products with a target population and not just using our current student base.
Usertesting is the best solution for remote tests
What do you like best about the product?
Building tests on UserTesting is extremely easy. The ability to select specific demographics is great for targeting the most relevant users. Screener questions also help make sure testers are really who you're looking for. When creating your test, UT offers quick task options and popular task options which would come in hand for those who are less familiar with running user tests.
Once your test is deployed, results often come back within hours. The ability to get results that quickly is a huge game-changer as previous studies we have done can take weeks. User testing removes the time and effort required with sourcing testers and scheduling testing time. It's also much cheaper than getting a consultancy who specializes in sourcing and scheduling.
When test results are all in, reviewing the results is a robust experience. You can see exactly what users were looking at as they run through each task you've laid out for them. Actually hearing and seeing users interact with your product is incredibly valuable. One of the best features I've come across is the ability to add notes to specific points in recorded video and see exactly where each task starts and ends.

User Testing Awesome Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I was able to pick up and use the tool with little instruction and tutorials. It was easy to use and troubleshoot. I would suggest that any team can pick up this tool and learn it quickly to get user feedback within days.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the users had trouble using the video tool (audio and video issues).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a need to get users voices to be heard by by stakeholders. We are making better informed decisions by utilizing these voices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Even if you think you users are unique, you can get information from User Testing
Get diverse product feedback in a pinch
What do you like best about the product?
Usertesting.com has proven to be an invaluable resource for our teams to facilitate qualitative research and collect important feedback about our product. It makes it really simple to setup and launch a test to prove a hypothesis and get results back in the same day.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit costly tool for team with smaller research budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Running quick qualitative testing on the fly with customers outside our customer base.
- Quick rounds of testing
- Quick rounds of testing
Provides great qualitative insight for your market research.
What do you like best about the product?
Its a great product for Qualititative Research because a number of times Quantitative Research (via surveys etc.) do not give the minute insights that a face to face conversation facilitates. This is a must have for your preliminary secondary research phase because it will help you build a hypothesis for the next stages. The video conversations with the customers were very insightful and the panel that was selected was genuine and very interested in answering questions. Took a lot of work away from my shoulders.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although all the participants fit the persona that we request, I think we should be allowed to select whom we want to interview. One of the team members got an interviewee who although fit the criteria, didn't have the household situation we were looking for. Some background information will be really helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me build hypothesis for the primary research phase, which is extremely complex. There is no way one can enter the primary research phase without having a solid understanding of what the market trends, drivers and expectations are, which UserTesting.com helps with immensely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its easy to use and you should not have any problems with it. Prepare your questions and hypothesis in advance.
I like it ok.
What do you like best about the product?
I find it simple to set up and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular stands out as a problem for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's useful for getting quick feedback on prototypes.
Great platform, fast insights
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can create a transcript of the video. Demographic controls were great. The ability to tag segments of the video on the fly is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
No pay as you go option! Pricing makes it harder for smaller companies to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Funnel optimisation
Great tool to optimize flow but time consuming
What do you like best about the product?
The first thing I really like the fact that it is a self service tool. Anyone in my team: designers, user researchers, product managers can use it by themselves as long as they have screenshots or a mock. I also like how intuitive and fast it is to use. The UI is really brilliant and it takes only a few minutes to understand what is asked. The fact that the mock can be shared with other stakeholder for reviewal is also a pretty good feature as often times these need to be double checked by team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike three things. The first thing that I dislike is when you set up the test with a mock (Invison) there is no clear understanding and how the questions you are writing map to a particular screen. I had to have another screen side by side with the mock and then write questions on the other screen. I had issues when I tested the user testing prototype and had to readjust. The second problem is that listening to all video is really time consuming and I wish I could get some sort of spreadsheet with data from each screen of the video that I could pull out in a reusable format. The third problem is when I wrote comments/notes on parts of the video I don't understand what I can do with that data. Where will I be able to find it later? how does that become insightful? It is a big problem when you try to turn around tests fasts like we do at Amazon and you feel like those extra tools are not helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been trying to do two things. The first one is understand how a feature is understood by a user and how do they formulate their opinion about it and the second one is what parts of a flow need to be optimized to minimize funnel drop off.
