UserTesting helps us validate or kill ideas, fast.

What do you like best about the product?
The speed in which we can launch tests, but mostly, the fact that they have the best user panel to test products. I also like the abundance of features user testing comes with... it's remarkable, especially when compared to thier other competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would have liked to see the user panel be a bit more diverse. They have a lot of users in some countries, but not so much in other places in Europe. I would also love it to have more features around organising the videos. Right now, studies cannot be mereged with other studies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for 3 types of tests. Testing for prototypes is probably the most popular one - we use this to validate ideas, fast, and this is the most powerful tool in my opinion. We use it to test our live product, this helps us find areas we would like to improve and helps us see our users interacting with our site as they speak their minds - this we usually do with our use-base. And finally, we use it to test competitors websites. Its of extreme value to see users testing your competitors websites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's expensive, but it's got the best user-base. We have looked at several tools when we were about to sign another year, and it really boiled down to their userbase. The amount of time (and money) we save when compared to other products is remarkable.

What do you like best about the product?
After designing a new feature I can validate it with my target in a matter of minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Depending who your target is you can encounter difficulties to find it in the User Testing panel.
I would include other feature such us card sorting, heat map, etc...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now I can maximise the impact of a feature quickly and with an accuracy I didn't have before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Is an expensive too but is worth it the time and the money.

My review for UserTesting

  • April 01, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
As a user experience designer, I find User Testing very helpful in understanding users because it's easy to set up interviews, customize and also share. Collecting valuable information and marking the important information from users are important and I like that feature. It's also easy to share with my team and this is valuable because I can use this to define and understand our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love UserTesting but the price is a bit expensive for one test. Also because sometimes I have a hard time creating questions, maybe having some suggestion/machine learning to help provide better questions or context of what we could potentially ask to get the results we want.

I do find UserTesting difficult to test in an Enterprise environment when the users are actual company employees. I can use UserTesting to define a design astethic but for best experience, it's tricky and different.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits I find with UserTesting is have a connection with users who can provide a better insight of what I am trying to solve and also discover something I hadn't thought about.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the idea of the market place, I think the fact that as a Product Manager you can access your actual users and define your testing terms base on different segments is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the platform do not have enough international testers. East Europe and US pretty good, but Kr, Ru, CN, JP, Au and Middle East very little number of users so if you are a global company you cannot get the most out of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User feedbacks for mvp before building the full featured products, UX/UI decisions for best customer experience, Stakeholder buy in for the new features and improvements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are an international company you probably cannot benefit as much as US company.

What do you like best about the product?
You can literally get an idea of your design in minutes. Their big pool of registered testers makes the process quick and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
The experience to create and set up a test can be painful sometimes, but after doing that a few times - you get used with the pain :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Validating UX/UI decisions.
It's a quick way to verify if your designs are going in the right direction.

Great feedback platform from users across the country.

What do you like best about the product?
How quickly we receive results and the ability to have a variety of questions included (voice, written, multiple choice). It's great to access people that we would otherwise not be able to talk to in person. The Excel files that you can export are great to help synthesize information quickly and compile different tests together. Additionally, the ability to give access to our team to view videos from users directly is a huge bonus to validate the research.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no logic that can be included in questions to help go deeper on specific features participants are interested in. Additionally, it would be nice to have deeper screening options though User Testing is probably ahead of most competitors with the options they already provide. Would be nice to have a built in app emulator that could run apps within usertesting.com that is beyond prototypes but doesn't require us to ask users to download the app on their personal device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using to to test new app prototypes for a variety of consumer facing products as well as using it to run qualitative interviews more effectively than what can be done in person. Because our products are digital, it allows us to reach people from a variety of places that can give us unique perspectives outside of our own bubble. We have been able to adapt products quickly by reducing arguments within the team around certain decisions because we can let the user decide how best to proceed with product development.

An easy way to get your company started with testing

  • March 31, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Best thing about user testing is how easy and quick it is to start a test. As a UX designer, sometimes the hardest part of testing is getting the right audience. User Testing incentivizes the testers and has them already ramped up to test which makes that process fast and simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is more on the tester's experience. Testers usually have to go through a series of qualifying questions in order to know if they can take the test. Sometimes a user will click on an entire page of tests and not qualify for a single one - but frustratingly so, users will burn time clicking through test to test and not be able to take any one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're allowing just about anyone to perform and set up a user-test rather than always roping in a researcher.
