One stop shop for qualitative user testing
What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy and fast to recruit participants. Takes the work out of setting up recording and compensation. The features I use the most are the balanced comparison, highlight transcript feature, and the metrics section. I also like that it gives me the flexibility to use their own panel vs users from our own website.
What do you dislike about the product?
The transcript feature is very inaccurate. The metrics spreadsheet is formatted poorly and takes a lot of work to derive coherent data from it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Takes the work out of recruiting, compensation, and figuring out a way to record mobile devices. Metrics built into questions like time on task and ease of use also help with benchmarking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your team conducts qualitative user studies frequently and needs results quickly, then I would recommend UserTesting to take a lot of the work out. I would recommend for a mid-large sized company with a dedicated budget for user research. I would also say UT is helpful for both exploring early stage concepts (which you can use moderated testing for) and task-based optimization (fine to be unmoderated).
Great tool for improving UX

Pricing is expensive considering competition. But ease of use is is better.
Fantastic Service, unique insights
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly get participants from the UT pool. I love adding in demos to quickly test something to get results within an hour. Our research team is much stronger with the ability to do this.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any participant pool the quality can be somewhat variable. It is no where near as bad as some services we have used, but there are times where we will have to throw out a participant or a few and replace them. UT support is fantastic at helping with this process, however.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to get face to face interviews with our users and test new products on people who have analogous demographics. We mitigate a lot of risk by testing with these populations and are able to quickly and emotionally demonstrate how our users interact with our products.
It has been fantastic
What do you like best about the product?
I love how fast we can get direct feedback from users. It has allowed us all to rapidly iterate and improve our ux.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that my payment tier allowed for us to target our actual users. I get it tho, the next payment tier allows it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have discovered and solved a bunch of UX issues that we never realized
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The one thing that is frustrating is at the end of a video. You are asked to rate the video and it seems like you are summarizing the video but it’s actually reviewing the tester. Sometimes I accidentally send the participant the summary 😅

Pretty good for the basics.
What do you like best about the product?
Great for unmoderated testing. Love that you can control the speed of playback, and the note-taking functionality works well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The design is a little dated and unmoderated testing isn't great for certain types of research.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly clarity issues with established interface and content. Unmoderated testing shows us where the problems lie.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a solid choice for a limited type of testing.
User testing is a great way to receive insightful feedback.
What do you like best about the product?
I'm a product manager/interaction designer try and use it on all my projects. Even with projects I'm confident in I'm always able to take away new insights and findings from watching users interact with prototypes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to navigate through previous tests and setting up a test can be lengthy. It's also difficult to collaborate on tests, especially when the other user has limited permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I typically use User Testing for testing new website features, especially when we're hoping to guide users through a flow. It's helpful to get insight from people who may not work in tech/use your product everyday.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
User testing is an essential part of bringing a new product live, whether you feel the updates are obvious or now. UserTesting is a quick and flexible way to gain insights into your product.
