Great for finding test users as well as using with your own users

What do you like best about the product?
It is really easy to find people to test with. Most of the users are really good and provide helpful information. Scheduling interviews is easy and UserTesting records all the interviews, so that cuts out quite a lot of extra steps. The scheduling is really easy and UT sends out reminder emails, so very few participants cancel or are no-shows. The videos are easy to export as well.

It uses Zoom and since just about everybody is on Zoom, that makes life easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
It definitely has some usability issues. It's not the more UX-minded platform. The dashboard is not great, kind of boring, and it easily gets chaotic if not properly managed. . If you use a shared account, only one person can be logged in at a time otherwise you get booted when the next person logs in. This is particularly problematic because when you click log in, it automatically logs you in with the most recent account you used. So if you have a shared account, you must always log out after each session or risk booting a teammate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for usability tests, general user and non-user interviews, A/B testing, surveys. Pretty much our entire UX research is done through UserTesting. We use it to schedule and conduct interviews with our users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to find test participants, this is a really great resource. Depending on your account, UT even handles all of the incentive payouts.

One of the best out of the bunch

What do you like best about the product?
It easily connects a skilled group of users and researchers together to be able to extract insights. It really takes the challenges of organizing meetings out of the picture and enables simplicity and transparency about pricing and expectations.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times where there can be bugs. One issue I have had was usertesting sanctioned video meeting was laggy despite perfect connections on both sides. Sometimes tests can glitch for the user and there are times when interviews can glitch and not allow users to apply.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are so many different types of research applications available on the market. This is the first one that has been straight forward, integrated and seamless. It saves a lot of time and money to do it this way rather than the conventional way.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to get a user test up and running quickly, as well as the wealth of templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be different to know where to start if you don't have a background in user research.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting qualitative feedback on websites and mockups, as well as comparing the effectiveness of different ads and flows.

Robust funtions

What do you like best about the product?
I love the additional option to do moderated sessions with real users. You can talk to them over zoom so you can see their face expression and follow-up to get any clarification n questions. It saves time from having to recruit users. These folks are also usually experienced in user testing so I don't have to explain as much. For the non moderated tests, it transcribes the user talking out loud which is very helpful and links to each question you asked so it's easy to skip around.
What do you dislike about the product?
We do a lot of tests, you can move things into folders but I feel like there should be a better way to sort or search tests. It's very hard to find an old user testing session because I can't remember the exact name I named the session.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves a lot of time by not having to recruit users. The tests also fill up super quickly. There are screener questions you can ask to make sure it's the right demographics. It's not a cost per test so it relives the pressure of making the perfect test and allows iterative user testing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a bit expensive but worth it if you do a lot of testing because it's a flat rate. You save time and money but not having to recruit eligible participants and schedule testing sessions.

What do you like best about the product?
Very fast responses from users, Very detailed qualitative feedback, Easy to use and set-up
What do you dislike about the product?
The export to Excel function could be improved. It works, but I often have to manipulate it when analysing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting is mainly used by our UX team (designers, writers, researchers) to inform the development of our Hi-Fi designs and content. It allows us to see whether users understand and like the designs before releasing updates to our app and onboarding journey. Members of the marketing team also use it in order to test different campaign designs and messaging.

Quick, viable, qualitative feedback

What do you like best about the product?
The speed with which we're able to activate projects and get real-time feedback from actual prospective customers is stunning.
What do you dislike about the product?
You do have to set aside the time to watch and analyze the videos, which can be time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great to get actual market/customer feedback on concepts, shopping experience, and search behavior rather than relying on gut or outdated research. We're able to turn around answers to real product and business questions almost in real time.

UserTesting allows research to be done efficiently and effectively with just a few clicks

What do you like best about the product?
It is super easy to set up moderated and unmoderated studies. The templates for tasks are time-savers. Results are ready usually within hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints. Customer support is very responsive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UserTesting has allowed us to truly understand customer issues. Having customers involved in the design process through different research methods has been key at addressing customer's pain points. UserTesting allowed us to remotely test both physical and digital products which is a huge advantage, especially during lockdowns due to COVID.

Indispensable tool in our UX Arsenal

What do you like best about the product?
User testing has provided a platform to generate a better understanding for both our product and marketing team. UT's immense stock of viable participants has opened up testing for us and sped up our processes. With a wonderful, supportive community, it truly is a platform that no UXer should be without.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be cost-prohibitive for individual contributors. It's something you may have to lobby for at your organization, but the sales team is great and can help in that regard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With a smaller team, I'm able to handle a variety of requests from the organization easily, leaving more time spent processing the findings than coordinating meetings, screen shares, etc..
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You'll find that once you start using highlight reels and sharing the findings with colleagues around the organization, interest in the tool will skyrocket.

Good experience so far

What do you like best about the product?
User testing makes it incredibly convenient to run moderated and unmoderated user tests. I particularly like the study templates that allows my team to build user studies quickly and not redesign each user study from scratch (e.g., Usability test, concept feedback, etc.).
What do you dislike about the product?
My team has only been using it for about two months, so we are not experts. Our major pain point is having to export User Testing study results for a summary in other tools. User Testing has a pretty good way of summarizing qualitative studies in their built-in insights tab. However, it's still limited in scope, especially in our multi-method studies that use quantitative data (from Qualtrics surveys, for example). Those multi-method studies require us to patch together a bunch of disparate data sources (User testing included) to complete a holistic research study.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting end-user feedback quickly for websites and mobile apps.

UserTesting delivers invaluable insights with speed and finesse

What do you like best about the product?
Recruiting from the UserTesting panel couldn't be easier. And the range of available participants has covered most of the use cases I need to test for whatever project I've worked on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be a bit fiddly but with use it gets pretty easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Usability testing of designs and prototypes. Also concept testing, including validation of labels and taxonomy. Quick insights on concepts at an early stage of a project give us a head start in our product design.
