Good organization
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the ability to organize my documents in different folders and subfolders. It allows me to organize my files on Dropbox in a way that mirrors my company's internal file management system. Having consistent file organization makes finding the document I want a much faster process. Dropbox also allows for instant sharing of files between my office and other firms. Easy sharing of files between firms has made discovery and exchange of trial exhibits much more efficient, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when visiting other offices would not be wise.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Dropbox was a little more transparent about its security levels. While I do not necessarily handle overly sensitive material, I do handle confidential files at times. It is nice that the option for two-step verification is available, but setting a password requirement for certain client folders and/or their files would be a good addition. Additionally, it can't find a way to easily determine how much storage I am using. I should not have to search through several layers of my profile to find that information; it should be readily available on the home page for each folder I am accessing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox permits me to access items at home without transporting a flash drive or other external memory source between my home and office. Secure remote access to files without means I can access files from home without worrying about losing files outside of the office. Dropbox also allows for easy sharing of exhibits between my office and other firms. This easy sharing makes for a more efficient exchange of information, which results in lower costs for clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your company has specific requirements for security and confidentiality, you may want to double-check that Dropbox meets those requirements. Addiitonally, users will need to familiarize themselves with the process of finding storage information, which is located under "profile," "settings," and "plan." On the Plan page, Dropbox lists the amount of storage the user is currently using. Other than those concerns, Dropbox is easy to use and useful for accessing documents in different locations without needing to bring additional data storage items with you.
