Dropbox Personal and Business seamless use

  • March 25, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has been a very easy and seamless product to use to save and share files across devices and communities. I have found that the personal dropbox size of 2GB is sufficient for every day use at home, but the Business version is the most effective. There are no bandwidth or size limitations, but it does come at a cost. If you are sharing files, I wold recommend Dropbox over google drive. The reason being is that with Google drive, you lose some of the functionality of office products like word or excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about dropbox is that when you hit your capacity limit, it's hard to find large files to delete from the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am sharing documents across various software platforms (Windows, Mac, Android and Apple devices) with no issues. You can pick up where you left off on any device and anywhere in the world. I can share folders within dropbox with certain user privileges, so you have some control over it. Also, the notifications has been really helpful of when a file has been saved or changed.

What do you dislike about the product?
The layout when we push a file and it opens in the dropbox app, i think it's not good to work in some files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
I love Dropbox's integration within both my Mac and desktop PC computers. We use it daily in our real estate business and it is worth the annual membership. Dropbox is so easy to use and it's direct integration with both PC's and Mac computers is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox is integrated on both PC and Mac so myself and my team don't have any complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a realtor, we store all of our listing photos in Dropbox so that we have quick and easy access to them across multiple platforms and locations. This has made life so much easier and transferable!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is a super user friendly platform and I like the integration that it has on both my Apple and Windows based computers.

Great product that’s easy to navigate and saves lots of time.

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has been an invaluable asset to our business. It’s so easy to share files and keep them organized. Before using Dropbox we constantly were sharing docs via email and it took a long time to get tasks done when you couldn’t access the file on your own, that’s no longer a problem.

Being able to have certain folders be private and being able to edit who can see what has been a great resource for us. We assign folders to specific clients so they can keep up with their projects and upload their own info we may need from them.

When downloading Dropbox onto the computer locally, we love that it’s just like any other windows folder. It’s easy to use and didn’t make it difficult to teach some employees who may not be as tech savvy a new process, it didn’t feel like a large change to them. This was a huge reason why this product worked for us so well. We tried a couple similar products, but they weren’t sustainable for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The online version is a little harder for the older clients to navigate, but downloaded to the computer is exceptional.

There are very rare occurrences when files take a couple tries to be able to sync to the shared folders even though there aren’t any service issues. There have also been a handful of times a document says it can be seen by everyone, but it’s not showing up on all computers, but this is pretty rare and not a reason that would deter us from recommending or discontinuing use of Dropbox.

Otherwise we don’t have issues I can think of!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox has made it 100x easier to keep track of files and make sure everything is always where it’s suppose to be. Speed of projects and information sharing has increased significantly now that we have an easy way to share information. We have access to our files from our home, office and at the job sites since the Dropbox app is easy to use.

We have been able to share certain folders just with clients and they can upload their own information to us without hassle. Dropbox also easily integrates into some other software we use which makes using those products even easier.

We also started using Dropbox as a way to share photos of project site updates. Clients go to the folders and find progress pictures in real time. We had been using another product to share photos, but using Dropbox is preferred so that our clients only have to keep track of 1 software and don’t have multiple log ins, apps, and info to keep track of.

Speaking of being able to use Dropbox as an all in one software, we have been able to save money by using it. The prices are great and we have been able to drop some other products that were adding onto our costs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Dropbox Review

  • March 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is free and easy. It has a good and understandable UI. It can be used through browser and allows you to navigate through your folders easily. Each folder or file can be allowed to be viewed or edited by anyone you invite through email. Until then, all your files are secure and only available to you. It integrates with Google quite well, allowing you to login using your Google account and sends email alerts if and when needed. You get plenty of storage that can be further expanded by upgrading your account. You can share files with a URL if the person you're trying to work with does not have a Dropbox account. In addition you can use Dropbox as a medium of transferring of files between your PC and mobile.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far no dislikes, but there's some room for improvement such as being able to view different file formats and presentations on the web.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox mainly to transfer and receive files from my colleagues for work. While working from home, Dropbox solves a lot of issues with communication as being able to send files to one another and having us go through them at our own pace is a much more convenient option than screen sharing that takes up everyone's time equally for fixing trivial issues in coding. Dropbox has several features one of which is Dropbox Tools using which you can collaborate with other people to create documents and presentation files. It allows simultaneous editing and provides an access log where you can keep track of all the changes made as well as by whom.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Dropbox as it's free to use with up to 2GB of storage. You can easily get up to 2TB more of space through affordable subscription plans with more discounts for annual plans. You get secure storage and safe means of sharing your data.

Drop is good like the application but needs more funtions

  • March 19, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is an easy platform to store files. I have used it in my master's program and I have collaborated with some of my colleagues on the platform. The view is easy and intuitive. We have also the ability to view files online. I am also able to share files privately and public sharing, however, I would like a CAD system integrated into the application.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would really appreciate it if they integrated a CAD system. I use a lot of cad files and it would be nice to view files on the platform without downloading the files. DXF & DWG files are standard 2D engineering files, so dropbox should be easily visible on the platform. It also has a non-intuitive way of making the files private which is a bit worrying if some accidentally get my link. I am sure there is a way to make files private but it is hard to find it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The application was used to share materials between students when we collaborated together. The material we had was easily shared with anyone who had the link. I also use dropbox for my business. This is where I keep my companies business and legal documents in a well-ogranised way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I am an engineer so I'm on the constant hunt for applications that help my trade. I am continuously looking for a document management system that will help me manage files and customers effectively. If dropbox has some file management tagging in place that would be nice.

Dropbox changed how I save and share files.

  • March 17, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of access which Dropbox affords me from multiple platforms. It is tad simple to use across the different platforms where-in it is available.
Its smooth integration with the productivity suite - Office 365, ensures I am able to use Office 365 apps. While backing up the app. Data on Dropbox.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quality of file previews on Dropbox is poor . I think the idea of file previews is to enable users view files without needing to first download them. The poor quality of file previews has now made it necessary for me to first download my saved files, before I view them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox addresses the issue of file storage and file sharing for everyone in my department.
The primary benefit I have derived from Dropbox is the ability to save backup copies of all my files, in a secured, cloud based environment.

Enough space for everything.

What do you like best about the product?
Since I´m a manager and I need to save a lot of documuents because of my work I always have needed to save a big amount of documents which was hard for me because I didn´t have enough space in my devices. When I found out Dropbox what I liked the most of this software is the fact that they offer not only a free trial but also a free version, which make it a lot better because I was doubting wether I should give it a try or not.

Once I bought the professional version of dropbox I discovered that they have many tools such as a debate option or a chat which made my job a lot easier because If someone at work had a doubt with a document I could simply fix it or explain it to them without any complication, as they aslos could put comments in a specific section.

Another thing that I found quite helpful was the fact that they have an option where you can link all your devices to that account without needing to create another one, so because of that I saved all my contacts and documents without needing to be worried that I loose something.

Despite that Dropbox itself it´s quite easy to use, they also offer training through pre-record videos or live videos, documents and offline, so that´s is the reason why I think that their training plans are really complete.

Lastly the one thing that I liked the most about the Professional version is that unlike the Plus version you could only send files up to 2 GB per transfer but with this version I can send up to 100 GB per transfer which is convenient when it comes to my work.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of my problems with Dropbox is that I had some problems when I started to use it so I decided to seek for help with their support team, but they never repplied to me so I think they should try to find a way to make their support team more effective and responsible.

My other problem is that despite the product itself is really good, the prices are a little bit high considering that they´re another space work softwares for free where you can get the same benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have solved my problems of saving a lot documents that are too heavy for my computer but I also solved the problem of not being able to send something that is around 3GB, as I have mentioned they have this amazing option of file transfer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If someone wants to consider to use Dropbox I would say to them is that they should give a look to the free version and free trial, because of the fact of just using them it shows you a lot of the benefits that they have.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox makes it simple to store, organize and share files within my organization and with other stakeholders. Dropbox also keeps our files safe but storing them in the cloud instead of on local devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox lacks when it comes to handling large files, from uploading, sharing and previewing... Dropbox needs work in this area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending large files via email simply does not work. Dropbox makes it easy AST to store and share files whether from any device.

What do you like best about the product?
The program is easy to use. I like how it can be used with other platforms, but there are some areas that can use some work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Should be integrated with google or other platforms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vendor to customer file sharing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always look for other types of programs, this one has some features that are considered downfalls to them.
