Dropbox-Boon for users like me

  • November 07, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works very well in syncing across multiple devices. It provides free space till 4 GB. The software integrates with google docs and ms office, which helps in keeping data secure. The file and folder sharing system is very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although they provide 4 GB space, one always wants more. The one feature where one account could have been used for plenty of devices has been curtailed to 3 devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration for various tasks and keeping important work related data on the cloud to be accessed by anyone from the team from anywhere. It has been very handy to have all data handy anywhere on the go.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have been using Dropbox for over 5 years now. The tool has been robust and reliable and I have not encountered any issue till date. I would recommend anyone considering Dropbox to go ahead with it if it fits their technical requirements.

Dropbox Business - lifesaver for remote teams

  • November 06, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I honestly can't say enough good things about Dropbox. It...just works. The implementation on Mac, PC, Web and iOS is consistent, easy to use and reliable. The storage options/team plans on Dropbox Business and Enterprise are cost effective. Speed is strong. File org and syncing to desktop is seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest complaint is necessarily about Dropbox, but rather the process of getting corporate IT functions to "trust" the security of a cloud service like Dropbox. Understandable with the consumer facing implementation, but with the extra security and layers built in to Business and Enterprise, I'd argue that it's more secure and robust than our in-office solutions. That process was the hardest part of our implementation - not actually using the product!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a team in multiple locations and, pre-COVID, we were traveling a lot. We are constantly sharing files, and our server/VPN setup was not cutting it - reliability was an issue, but more importantly SPEED. Dropbox fixed all of that and with the new(er) Transfer features, it's allowed us to carefully share relevant files with people outside our core team. I like the cross-platform nature (we're mixed between Mac and PC) and the mobile implementation is commendable.

Great data storage and collaboration tool

  • November 06, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is a great tool for storing and sharing data. Dropbox is very easy to use and backing data can be done very easily. I think that the ability to work anywhere, even without internet access, is another great feature of Dropbox. There is another great feature that allows you to retrieve a document if it's unintentionally deleted. Yet another feature of Dropbox is the History feature that allows you to view previous versions of a file. I think that Dropbox is one of the best file sharing apps on the market.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been instances where Dropbox has not updated data in real time. This can sometimes be a bit frustrating when collaborating on data that is being updated in real time. I think another drawback of using Dropbox is the fact that users are not allowed to encrypt their data before uploading it to Dropbox. Dropbox also does not provide live support. Support can be reached via email. However, there is a Frequently Asked Questions section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There have been many benefits our team has realized from using Dropbox. Dropbox allows us to have access to our files quickly and easily. Data retrieval is great with this tool. Dropbox is also a great product that allows for easy navigation and organization of files. Dropbox has allowed our team to collaborate much easier.

Dropbox Review

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is a fantastic software for cloud storage. It's easy to use and the interface is well designed for beginners to understand. You can use it for free with up to 2GB space. You can upload files and create folders on Dropbox to sort them. This ensures that your files are categorized and are easy to find when necessary. You can share these files through email or you can share the downloadable URL with people and they'll be able to access them. In addition, it's also helpful when you want to move files from one device to another.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really say I've found anything to dislike in Dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox on a consistent basis to store necessary files. It's also provided me with a convenient way to move files from my PC to phone and vice versa. While working remotely, there are many instances where I need to share files with my colleagues and Dropbox has been very helpful to us in this area. Dropbox has been an excellent enabler in allowing us to collaborate during our daily work tasks as well as with our projects. Dropbox being accessible from any device is a huge benefit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using Dropbox as I find it to be a reliable and secure form of cloud storage. The fact that it's available for free is a good enough reason to try it, in my opinion.

What do you like best about the product?
i like that dropbox is a secure place for all your important documents ,data and all other informations. It let's you structure the data by folders as per your need. You can get shareable links of files for sharing purpose. You can securely keep and share you files. Also it has an android app so it is way convenient and secure to access your files across all your devices. The android app is also very good, secure and well designed. It is very useful when you want to access your files from a remote location
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that initially it offers a less space. you have to upgrade for more space. sometimes the application crashes on android and behaves abnormally. It is fast and convenient but not as good as Google drive and OneDrive. It is popular in enterprises but not popular for common users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I share my files with my colleagues and friends. It is a very secure way of sharing things. I keep my important documents in dropbox so that i can access the files from where ever i want. also it help meprotecting my secret documents.

What do you like best about the product?
Convenient, offers more capabilities than Google Drive. Easily accessible to all users, regardless if they have a Google account. Dropbox allows you to bring your files and cloud content together with the tools your team wants to use. It's a modern workspace designed to reduce busywork-so you can focus on the things that matter. Convenient, offers more capabilities than Google Drive. What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to cherry pick content you're looking for. Its preview functions can take a while to load making it less efficient than other file sharing apps. Navigating files can be difficult because the sharing options are not always immediately clear. In some cases, content can get lost and requires the admin of the account to reshare which has been know to slow projects down. It is difficult to cherry pick content you're looking for. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with video content often and Dropbox makes it easier to share it with our clients because their upload limits are higher. This also makes it easier for others who don't have Google accounts. I would consider what you need out of a file sharing service. It is better for large file types but is not as efficient as Google drive when it comes to images and documents.

Most Popular cloud Storage Service

  • October 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is very easy to use and store files on in a secured manner. Now a days people changes their devices frequently and they need a permanent storage to save the copies of important files and this is where dropbox comes to the rescue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox lacks metadata search functionality, metadata holds information about the file such as the creation date, etc. alternative cloud storage services provides this functionality.
Metadata is important in case if someone requires to know how old a file is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I constantly have to work on different devices and change my devices and phones frequently, Dropbox helps me in keeping my important files in a specific place securely which can be easily accessed from anywhere and is easy to share with others as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox provides free basic Account which lets you upload approx 2GB on cloud for free, however if you need more storage then the account starts at approx 11 dollars per month which i feel is on the expensive side.

Dropbox User Experience

  • October 22, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it has helped me to share heavy files with my colleagues and people outside my organization. Also, Dropbox has helped me to backup my important files and not have the risk of losing them. I like that with Dropbox you can access files at any time, not like other platforms that have a limited time to view or download the files. I have been able to receive files from people outside my organization without the problem of needing to have a business account from their company. The mobile version of Dropbox is very good, I have been able to access documents and pictures though my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that storage size is very limited for free users. I also do not like that people are not asked to enter a password when accesing the shared file, so I feel it is not very safe sharing files with people outside my company as they can share the same file with others. Their should be a security step where you enter a password or your email to access the file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been solving sharing size problems, as other platforms such as Outlook only allow a limited size of files to share. Regarding benefits, I like that I have a backup of the most important files of my company, and I can access them in my phone if I do not have a computer or if I am in a meeting outside my office.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it to share heavy files and to have a backup of your most important files. One advantage is that it can be accessed through your smartphone, so you can have your information anywhere.

Dropbox Review

  • October 20, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is easy to use and functions very well as a cloud storage platform. You can upload files to it from desktop, browser, and phone. Files once uploaded are only accessible to you by default but you can change the access level to invite others to view and download them. Aside from storing files, you can also share these files either via email or you can generate a URL from which the people you share it with can download. The servers are very stable and you can access Dropbox 24/7 with no downtime at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything I dislike about Dropbox yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been a user of Dropbox for several years, both for personal and professional use. It's a very secure platform to store important files in so that you don't ever lose them. In addition to storage, Dropbox also offers several tools for collaboration such as Dropbox Paper where you and your team members can collaborate on documents whether it's to manage your tasks or to work on presentations. This has been very helpful to us as of late while we work from home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dropbox is free to use and you can have up to 2GB of storage. This is plenty if you're using it just for work. I recommend giving it a try as it's one of the best cloud storage software available today.
