Great asset for my holiday rental business
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the super simple app; it's so easy to quickly capture my virtual tour using my Insta 360 and my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would like it to more easily create a simple fly through video with my own path.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Matterport to allow virtual tours of my 2 holiday rental properties, it allows guests to get a real feel for the size and furnishing of the properties. Also great that I can add to Google street view.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Matterport is the ease of use of the software and hardware. The cameras can pair up with multiple different types of devices and it works on both the Android and IOS platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest dislike I have is how limited a user is editing the scan on the website. There are still some features I would like to see them add to enhance the experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best benefit Matterport offers is the ability to access a site without having to travel to the site. We solve the issue of having to revisit a site because of not capturing something on the last visit. Whether you realize you need it or not, the scan captures the information. It solves the problem of having to share 100s of photos with the design team. The field survey is on the web and can be accessed by the team as needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Research the plans before purchasing the camera. And make sure you have someone or a group of individuals that can focus on learning the hardware and software so internal training can go smoothly.

What do you like best about the product?
The easiness of use of the equipment and the portal.
What do you dislike about the product?
besides not working in Android, at this moment we do not identify any major flaws.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Document facilities. There are many benefits of having all our facilities digitized.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Visit the phenomenal video library for training and start with a small project. Seems easy but you will have to spend a few hours looking at videos so when you do the work of scanning an area do not fumble with the equipment.
Exciting new technology always improving!
What do you like best about the product?
The technology is super exciting and I appreciate the workshops Matterport holds to share use cases for its software. I use the snapshotting from the tours, the highlight reel/slideshows and the floor plans very frequently. The customer support is also fantastic!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that some of the automatic editing and overall quality of the image composition seems to not be improving. Very often I have to pull snapshotted photos into Photoshop to fix the edge of a table or a corner of a wall that has strange chunk that is offset halfway through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think, especially with the pandemic, the opportunity to provide virtual tours to people looking at homes is definitely solving a problem and there is a huge benefit in the sharability and user-friendliness of the tours.
Matterport using the iPhone - a great alternative to using the Pro2 camera
What do you like best about the product?
The quality of the digital tours created using the iPhone 13 camera.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little that I dislike. While the quality of a digital twin using the iPhone camera is not quite as good as using the Pro2 camera, it is more than sufficient for my real estate clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A Matterport digital twin provides my real estate clients with an additional tool to make their listings stand out.
Great tool for residential real estate
What do you like best about the product?
Matterport provides visitors to our online platforms with a truly immersive way of touring our listings. We initially purchased the camera to assist with virtual showings during the height of the pandemic, but it has proved very useful in a variety of ways. We LOVE the ability to order 2-D floor plans for our listings. The floor plans are very accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
A word of warning re: the square footage calculations that Matterport provides - they will always be less than the actual livable square footage due to the way Matterport calculates the SF. The floor plans are very accurate, but we hire an appraiser to measure the house if we want livable SF measurements that are industry standard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accurate floor plans; interactive marketing tool; a marketing differentiator since few of our competitors take full advantage of the platform; ability to have buyer's agents do a virtual walk-thru of a listing to see if it is suitable for their clients.
Matterport has been a BIG help in servicing our customers
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use. There are multiple workshops, Q&A discussions, helpful tips provided by Matterport.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike is not so much what's lacking on Matterport's part... I haven't been able to invest the time to master the tips and tricks they've shared to make my projects even easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matterport was a tremendous help during the onset of the pandemic, when our customers were not traveling to our plant to complete in-person inspections. Use of the 3-D imaging, coupled with our own videos, allowed us to create a 'virtual' inspection for our customers. Quite frankly, the tools within Matterport itself often allowed for details to be seen that may have been missed by the naked-eye.

What do you like best about the product?
Matteport is a great way to show your space and help us in business. Matteport app is straightforward to use, and the result is excellent. Also, we appreciate a lot additional learning and improvement material provided by the Matteport team. Much thanks!

Nothing in particular. It would be great to adjust the borders of the 3D model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matteport provides faster and user-friendlier virtual tours.
Excellent Selling Tool For Real Estate
What do you like best about the product?
I like the true representation of a home that the Matterport 3D model offers. I also like that I can extract stills from a space and add them to marketing the home.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only things I dislike are the wait times for processing the scans and the sometimes fragmented imaging (which I'm reducing by making more scans within a space).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great tool for reducing in-person showings, when a seller or tenant is unable or unwilling to make their home available. The 3D Showcase seems to draw truly interested buyers to a home, weeding out the simply curious.
Matterport for 3D Capture and Progress Documentation in Construction
What do you like best about the product?
Using the Matterport Camera to capture a model of the jobsite allows remote stakeholders to tour the site virtually, safely and take accurate measurements .
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is the time that it takes to scan. But smaller cameras with faster scans are not as accurate, so it's a trade-off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better coordination during meetings by being able to bring the model during a video conference to show people on the call the actual condition in the field.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool if you value superior quality and dimensional accuracy over ease of use. Smaller cameras can capture spaces faster, but the end result is inferior.
