Which other solutions did I evaluate?
F5 is HAProxy's main competitor in the market. If its implementation, dashboard, and reporting are improved, HAProxy could be better than F5.
What other advice do I have?
If your team knows the product well, integrating HAProxy with IT workflow is easy. Otherwise, it is not easy. I would recommend the solution to other users.

Our main problem is that we need to react and adopt to every crazy customer requirement, HAProxy let us never down with that.
Excellent product and services
What do you like best about the product?
Among other available software based load balancers, I find HaProxy a very solid software that fills our all load balancing needs. The implementation is very easy and documentation and customer support is excellent. It support API based backend health checks that gives extra comfort when you are running tier 0 services in the backends.

We do not have any dislike so far while we have been using this product for many years.

Its helping us to have our tier 0 service highly available and effectively load balanced.

It has low resource usage, high performance and is very configurable.
One particularly useful feature is that you can apply configuration changes to a live server with zero downtime.

Nothing really, it does the job I need it to do.

It allows requests to be routed from a single front-end hostname to a group of back end servers. If a server becomes unavailable the requests will be routed to another server.
