Making applications highly available, having a single point of ingress for accessing applications from the internet and intranet

It's easy to configure and very lightweight

Probably the lack of control plane in the open source edition

HAProxy is fast, flexible and reliable.
What do you like best about the product?
HAProxy has been an invaluable addition to our technology stack, from scaling out capacity for our applications to simplifying disaster recovery operations. From our first uses of the community edition and transitioning to the Enterprise Edition (HAPEE), one of the biggest standouts has been the documentation. The enterprise edition builds upon a great piece of software with tremendous documentation, developers and community support. It adds many additional modules and a dedicated team of account managers, engineers, and support staff.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would have to be the statistics dashboard if forced to pick something to dislike. It's effective at giving you a lot of data at a glance. However, it could use a facelift and a more modern user interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy has enabled us to scale web applications with ease. We use it for both internal and external applications. Also, we have improved our failover times during backend outages with the flexible rules and policies that can be configured.
Despite using the free edition of HAProxy, it is exceptionally versatile and useful.
What do you like best about the product?
We were able to accommodate a variety of scenarios that covered most of our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web interface is quite simple for the free version, but this is not to say that we were not able to do something we needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to balance all services that needed the feature. Extra bonus points: it can act as WAF for internet facing services.

We switched from our VM environment to Acroplis and it's not supported

I have nothing specific to report about things I don't like in the application.
