HAProxy is the best multi-purpose load balancer on the market
What do you like best about the product?
I like that HAProxy is:
+) Fast
+) Quite easy to configure once you get used to config syntax and know what you need/want
+) Uses little memory
+) Does not read or write on disk during the run (that's why it's so fast)
+) Powerful stick tables which can be synced between multiple peers

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of the following:
-) It can take some time to get used to HAProxy's config syntax
-) There are no ACLs for filters (I hope they will add them in later versions)
-) You can't use built-in cache in tcp mode

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy is a reverse proxy for most of our web projects and a load balancer for sFTP and database servers. We use it both - as classic Linux installations and as Docker images. Also there are servers where HAProxy protects web apps from DDoS attacks.

Amaze with performance and license price
What do you like best about the product?
It brings down HW Load balancing and it gives us the to use whatever HW we want to boot the HAProxy performance
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing this product does not support is a pool of source nat IP and we need to put source nat IP to each back end manually
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Perform much better then HW LBS like A10 of F5
- It gives much visibility of process traffic
- License which is not restrict to do certain things only

Very efficient and reliable
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to configure, very powerful and flexible. It gives east means to protect L7 applications and direct traffic to the appropriate ressource.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks an easy way to serve simple HTTP pages, apart from error pages
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of things, but to name a few : high-availability issues, server protection, SSL-offloading problems...
Very good meeting and presentation
What do you like best about the product?
The timers and disconnection flags, that are the best tools!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing particular. Sometimes the configuration can be quite long to do what we need (but this is solved by using ansible templates)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use haproxy mostly to understand ehat happen on the customers application and do some attack mitigation at a very low cost.
Haproxy is stable, fast and straightforward
What do you like best about the product?
Performance out of the box is pretty decent to start with. The configuration DSL let's you express some really complicated logic eliminating the need for other traffic steering components.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haproxy community edition needs a better UI, one that allows tweaking basic parameters directly from the UI without a full reload
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Haproxy solves traffic shaping and API gateway requirements for us. It also lets us express complex rules like sending traffic canary systems etc.
haproxy conf
What do you like best about the product?
it's fast, and more often backends can't handle rps that haproxy provides
What do you dislike about the product?
there's no control plane at the moment. but fusion is coming
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
scaling dynamic backends
HAProxy fast and easy to get started
What do you like best about the product?
HAProxy is fast, it will run well on the lowest spec hardware, and you don't even need to think about resources until you have tens of thousands of connections. Config changes, even things like adjusting TLS ciphers, can be completed with a service reload, which won't impact app availability. Coming from a windows environment where this would need a reboot is a breath of fresh air.
Configuration files are easier to read and far less complex than other load balancer technologies.
You can also start with the free open source version and only look into the enterprise option if you need the features.

What do you dislike about the product?
Default logging was always a pain, needing a local syslog instance or similar. I think this has improved but default logging and reporting out the box is very raw and you will need a good log solution to parse the logs and a tool such as graffana to make sense of it all.
Many SEIM solutions don't yet have haproxy log parsers built in. Not a fault of HAProxy but be prepared to roll your own.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast and effective web application load balancing. HAProxy allows us to adjust http headers, TLS ciphers and manipulate traffic to work around issues that we would struggle to do otherwise.
Nice experience & key lesson learned
What do you like best about the product?
Get better of infrastructure with lower cost and power consumption
What do you dislike about the product?
Cli automation need fusion to minier this work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All app using s3 object storage so need to quick file access
Front L4 load balancer for multiple Kubernetes clusters
What do you like best about the product?
Low resource usage, seamless reloads, powerful statistics, opensource
What do you dislike about the product?
Using OS version in multiprocess mode or on multiple servery has no easy way to agregate stats&controls
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Routing HTTPS session based on SNI headers, provides us with good basic visibility and metrixs
wonderful
What do you like best about the product?
simplicity and powerful. rocksolid software
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing, we use both community and EE for different workflow and support
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
single point of failure, automation
