The Ultimate Tool to Unlock Data-Driven Growth

  • January 08, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Depth in data analysis:
Amplitude offers an extremely detailed view of user behavior. It allows for data segmentation and very precise funnel analysis, making it ideal for understanding what drives retention and growth.

Intuitive visualization and customizable dashboards:
The graphs and panels are easy to set up and understand, making complex data analysis more accessible even for those who are not experts in analysis.

Integrations with multiple tools:
It connects with CRMs, marketing tools (like HubSpot), and data automation platforms (Segment, Snowflake, etc.), making it easier to have a 360º view of the customer.

Prediction and machine learning capabilities:
It not only analyzes past data but also helps predict future behaviors using AI, allowing you to anticipate problems or identify growth opportunities.

Integrated experimentation and A/B Testing:
You can run tests directly from the platform to measure the impact of changes in the product or campaign, eliminating the need for additional tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
High learning curve:
Although the interface is visually appealing, fully mastering Amplitude can take time. To get the most out of it, it is necessary to have knowledge in data analysis and to define events very precisely.

Complex initial setup:
It is necessary to set up events, users, and funnels from scratch. If you don't have a technical team or a data analyst, this can become tedious and prone to errors.

Less effective for data not related to digital products:
Amplitude is amazing for apps, SaaS, or digital platforms, but it may be less useful for offline or physical businesses, where event tracking is not as straightforward.

Dependence on the quality of tracking:
If event tracking is not implemented correctly, the results can be inaccurate or incomplete. Unlike Google Analytics, where certain metrics are configured automatically, in Amplitude it is more manual.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of User Retention:
Problem: Users register or purchase, but do not return.
How Amplitude Solves It:

Analyzes which behaviors lead to retention.
Identifies patterns in users who remain active.
Allows creating cohorts to understand which segments are more likely to leave the platform.
Benefit: Improves retention by understanding which features or functions keep users engaged.
2. Low Conversion Rate (Funnel Optimization):
Problem: Many visitors do not complete the purchase or do not end up using the product.
How Amplitude Solves It:

Creates detailed conversion funnels to identify at which point users drop off.
Allows analyzing multiple paths and detecting bottlenecks.
Benefit: Optimizes each step of the purchase or activation process, improving conversions.
3. Lack of Understanding of User Behavior:
Problem: You don't know how users interact with your product.
How Amplitude Solves It:

Conducts a comprehensive behavior analysis to track every action (clicks, time on screen, features used).
Shows you which features are most used and which are ignored.
Benefit: Makes data-driven decisions on which features to improve or eliminate.
4. Difficulty in Developing New Features:
Problem: You are unsure of which new features to add or improve.
How Amplitude Solves It:

Uses user data to identify the most requested features or points where users spend the most time.
Allows you to run A/B tests to try out new features.
Benefit: Minimizes risks by basing development on real data and validating ideas before implementing them on a large scale.
5. Lack of Personalization for Different User Segments:
Problem: You treat all users the same, but their needs vary.
How Amplitude Solves It:

Segments users by behavior, geography, device, traffic source, etc.
Allows creating personalized experiences based on how different segments interact with the product.
Benefit: Increases satisfaction and engagement by offering experiences tailored to each type of user.

Gain quick insights with built-in testing while addressing reporting limitations

  • November 28, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have been working with Amplitude Analytics for around one year, mainly using it alongside GMP products like Google Analytics Four and Google Tag Manager.

We recently started using Amplitude Analytics and are in talks with Amplitude for a partnership. It provides valuable real-time insights, particularly beneficial for media services and e-commerce websites needing immediate data-driven decisions.

How has it helped my organization?

In Amplitude, clients can leverage existing models like the linear model and first-click model to compare their campaign performance based on specific requirements.

What is most valuable?

Amplitude offers flexibility in real-time data analysis, allowing users to make immediate decisions. It provides in-built A/B testing functionality, which eliminates the need for third-party integrations. A

mplitude's session replay feature allows recording of user interactions, which helps identify and fix user challenges on specific pages. The reporting functionalities are superior, particularly with Amplitude's ability to create multi-step funnels, unlike Google Analytics Four.

What needs improvement?

The free features in Amplitude Analytics need enhancement. The limitations, such as not being able to use the splitting method for certain events, restrict reporting capabilities. This contrasts with Google Analytics Four, where there's more freedom in passing parameters and creating reports.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with analytics, including Amplitude Analytics, for about one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been no stability issues with Amplitude in the time that I have used it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Amplitude is scalable, efficiently processing large volumes of data.

How are customer service and support?

Though I had a call with Amplitude Analytics support, the representatives lacked technical knowledge. I resolved most issues through the online community and did not raise any further technical support queries.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I switched from relying primarily on Google Analytics Four due to Amplitude's ability to provide real-time data and in-built A/B testing functionality.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup involves understanding the client's business needs and KPIs. An event taxonomy is created before development begins, ensuring no direct changes are made to the production environment to avoid data noise.

What was our ROI?

In Amplitude, clients can leverage existing models like the linear model and first-click model to compare their campaign performance based on specific requirements.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Amplitude used to charge based on monthly users. However, a recent notification indicated that event count also plays a role in pricing, causing some confusion regarding the cost structure.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend using Amplitude based on individual use cases, especially for real-time reporting and A/B testing features.

I rate Amplitude as an eight out of ten.
