The platform's visual development environment is very user-friendly, allowing even those without a coding background, like me, to contribute significantly to projects. Also, built in collaboration tools are a game-changer for creating team dynamics,

One of the main issue is its pricing structures, which can be a problem for most of the startups. Also, the dependency on Mendix components can create issues when trying to integrate with certain other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Powerful and easy-to-use product, however, pricing and integration capabilities could be improved
What is our primary use case?
I used the solution to develop an application for a parking system. It manages everything from parking cards, payments, eGates, tickets, and more.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of the product are its ease of use and speed. My friend and I find it helpful as a team of just two developers.
What needs improvement?
One area for improvement is its integration capabilities. Creating a pluggable widget or integrating it with other systems is challenging.
In terms of features, it would be great to see advancements such as AI services and the integration of third-party services. Additionally, connecting external devices to the application requires multiple steps. Improving this will make it easier for the developers.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for the past three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is stable and powerful.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The tool is scalable. We had a single application in development, and there were two developers with 15 end users.
How are customer service and support?
Six or seven months ago, I interacted with the technical support team, but since then, they haven't reached out to me. I tried to get in touch with them by asking some questions, and they mentioned that someone would contact me, but unfortunately, no one has reached out yet.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I run my businesses and develop applications. My friends and I are a small group of developers. In the past, we worked with technologies like C# and React. However, we are now looking to take the next step using local platforms.
I switched to this solution because of its database handling. You can create and draw your structure. The UI has powerful microflow, workflow, and nanoflow capabilities. It has great speed. It is suitable for developers with varying levels of experience. You can achieve tasks with minimal coding. The CSS and paging capabilities are great.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is not complex. The deployment process took two to three weeks.
What about the implementation team?
I set up the solution on my own.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I would not recommend the solution to small and medium-sized businesses because it’s expensive. It’s great for big organizations. I rate the pricing as a three out of ten.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have used React.js, JavaScript, C#, and Oracle Siebel. However, we strive to move to the next level for future projects.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I rate Mendix a six out of ten.
Highly recommend Mendix
What do you like best about the product?
Mendix is a brand-new world. The low code concept must be the trend. I used Blue Prism before so I can easily catch these similar ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web modeler can't do some complicate activities so I had to switch to desktop modelers. But sometimes the web modeler is much easier to do some UI work.
It was slow and not easy to make sure both modelers sync very well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mendix apps replace the legacy application in a much better new level. The back-end data will be changed to Big Data so the front-end legacy apps can't work anymore.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I encourage everyone to take a look on Mendix.

Once you get the hang of it you can quickly build applications and keep them working while further developing them. Everything is moldable to how you want it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as easy to understand as I'd hoped - coming from a totally different background I still have to learn a lot. I can see why it's called low code but it's definitely different from no code!
Extra skills such as Java, JavaScript and CSS are more than recommended to optimally use Mendix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick solutions for in-house applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Mendix is a solution for big companies I'd say. Make sure you get seniors on board to guide your juniors!
Powerful development tool

Quick and easy to create basic web applications. You can start creating your own web applications with the basic training Mendix provides. However you have the possibility to create powerful core process applications with a lot of integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Platform restrictions that are defined by design decisions, you are limited by what Mendix offers you. However you can go 'outside' the platform and create additional widgets but they are harder to maintain and this isn't helping the general overview of the application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mendix helps us in delivering a multi language tool for clients all over the world. They struggled with slow development and updates, now they have the possibility to update every customer at once with the same version built.
