Anaplan's Customization & UX Consideratoins
What do you like best about the product?
Model Customization - It truly is an open box. This can be a double edge sword if not implemented right, or if requirements are not understood during development, but otherwise this allows for great flexibility in how things could be planned.
Traceability- With formula drill downs, input cell user history, and model history there are a multitude of ways to track and audit end figures in Anaplan. This is nice sitting in a finance team.

What do you dislike about the product?
Two major sticking points for me, Cube size and lack of ALM in the UX.
Cube Size - Unless you use Anaplan's Polaris models, it can become cumbersome to have many (or large) dimensions planned together. This can lead to size restraints, resorting to managing composite/concatenated list structures.
No ALM in the UX - Currently there is not a way to publish dashboard changes to a DEV environment, and then push them seamlessly to a UAT or PROD environment. As a result, it requires copying pages & repointing them - as an alternative of publishing changes across all Dev/UAT/Prod UX pages simultaneously.

What do you like best about the product?
True Integrated Business Planning (IBP) can be achieved through a end-to-end connected planning solution that joins supply chain, finance and sales together in a unified system. The Anaplan platofrm excels in this space.
The advanced modelling capaiblity enable the tool to be able to handle complex and simple problems business face. The speed to implement changes in the model, ensures business can react quickly to challenging, changing business needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
Due to it's incredible flexibility, Anaplan can become overly complicated if best practice to process and solution architecure are not followed. Anaplan's strength stems from it's flexiblitiy but it can be a weakness if these best practices are not followed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan solves complex supply chain problems very well across a wide range of different industries. Due to its flexibility it can accomodate companies with differing maturity levels.

What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is an intuitive and comprehensive financial planning tool that simplifies budgeting, tracking expenses, and managing investments.It is designed with a user-friendly interface, making it easy for beginners to navigate. The setup process is straightforward, requiring users to do their BAU activities what they were doing in excel, in Anaplan pretty easily. The customer support is very involved and have 24/7 support for any technical queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Issue: Complex dimensional queries can be resource-intensive and may slow down report generation.
Impact: Slow performance can frustrate users and limit the utility of real-time reporting.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan helps in support which focuses on achieving the best commercial results by offering valuable insights, expert advice, and critical evaluation. This is bolstered by strong price modeling to optimize commercial proposals and enhance market success potential. It also helps in Delivery support which emphasizes the use of specialized commercial tools to ensure that high-value, complex projects stay on track with approved targets. By implementing strong commercial cadence and governance, it provides insights and recommendations to drive project success and data-driven decisions.

- UX capabilities (huge improvements over the last 1-2y but still)

- Automatic data updates from the ERP
- High level of collaborations (multiple people working at the same time on the same model + ease of communication between the models/teams)
- Data security (with the roles, selective access, different workspaces...)

Versatile Platform with Strong Community Support
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a highly flexible and user-friendly platform that requires no coding, making it accessible to a broad range of users. The tool’s intuitive design allows for a wide variety of applications, with instant calculations that streamline analysis. I also appreciate the robust online learning resources and the supportive Anaplan community, which provides valuable insights and networking opportunities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform has size limitations unless you are on a Hypermodel. Additionally, it may slow down when too many users are accessing it concurrently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan provides a flexible platform that enables us to transition multiple Excel-based models into a centralised system, streamlining our processes and consolidating final forecasts with greater efficiency and accuracy

What do you like best about the product?
The more uses cases you have in Anaplan the more valueable it´ll be. More departments, more markets etc
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan have taken some shortcuts when it´s comes to expected featuers in the back end that would help the experience. It would for example be very helpful to know if a module or filter is being used on a dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I´m a consultant implementing the solution me client needs. The best solutions have been in rolling forecast, workforce management have been a bit more tricky but frankly also because it rarely is an area where the client knows what they want
Scalable enterprise planning system
What do you like best about the product?
Scalability and flexibility to support multiple use cases, ability to link models and data to create integrated solutions. Tool is easy to use for finance professionals with a reasonable technical background.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cube structure does not handle scalability across a large number of concurrent dimensions without increasing cost substantially. Initial implementation requires skilled expertise.

Anaplan allows companies to ingest actual data and create live projections and forecasts across multiple scenarios. Data is linked to create integrated business solutions.

Flexible Platform that Provides Enough Standardization
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan provides business teams with a flexible platform in which they are able to easily model new use cases and add enhancements to existing models. The platform adds the additional benefit of standardization across the models which ensures ease of maintenance and cuts down on admin work for teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Modeling needs to be thoughtful from the start of implementation of new models as workspace can become an issue if model builders don't think through design and sparsity before they execute.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan allows our users to take advantage of standardization across different models which greatly reduces the time they spend managing updates to spreadsheets and refocus on actual planning and analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
What sets it parat is the ease of implementation. The platform offers extensive customization options for models to meet specific needs of the organization, and integrating business logic is simple and efficient. This not only improves the user experience but also makes model maintenance easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The New UX has certainly enhanced dashboarding experience compared to classic dashboards, but it still lags behind some of the more advanced platforms available today. Another thing that i dislike about Anaplan is when many users are running processes simultaneously, model may slow down.A naplan executes one action at a time and places next in a queue, which can create delays, especially if scheduled imports are happening at the same time. During imports the model becomes inaccessible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is addressing key operational challenges by significantly reducing the time spent on account tiering and assigning account ownership. This streamlined process enables faster decision-making and greater efficiency. Additionally, Anaplan has optimized the way we assign quotas to sales reps, ensuring a more accurate andefficient distribution of teh targets. These improvements not only save time but also enhance overall productivity, allowing the team to focus more on strategic initiatives rather than manual tasks
