R studio review

  • October 05, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Rstudio is an open source and freely available. It is very simple to install on any platform. It has a really good interface that allows us to install the packages that we need for analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The graphics can get better. Also R consumes lot of memory when you are dealing with super large datasets or matrices and can get slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use R for most of my research. RStudio provides a nice interface to R and it is easy to see plots on the same window while working on a problem.

    Research

Relatively user friendly but room for improvement

  • October 05, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-It's free
-Automatic / suggested fill for commands or data tables
-Packages can be developed by independent users
-Color differentiation for commands vs comments, etc
What do you dislike about the product?
-Difficult to remember commands / not very intuitive
-Tricky to search for a tool that I want if I can't remember what it's called
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No business problems, use for research (biostats, epidemiology, SIR modeling, survivorship analysis)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Everyone uses it and it won't be going away any time soon so as frustrating as it can be to learn how to use effectively, invest the time. Hopefully it will become more user-friendly in future versions.

Usage of R for Epidemiology Research Data Analytics

  • October 03, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Can always achieve data analysis goals with this product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the help interface is arcane and can pose issues when searching for coding solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving epidemiological data analyses in contribution to our research projects which are expected to see patients of radiation therapy. RStudio enables our data analyses which in turn contributes to product realization. Currently we have validated the usage of our research tool using data analytics with RStudio; we continue working towards validation in analogous but different contexts of radiation therapy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Anyone involved with big data, epidemiological research should use RStudio. Be sure to take advantage of the HELP option to work through problems with code.

R Studio Review

  • October 03, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the customizability of R Studio. It's easy to set up, configure, and start working. I also like that R studio is ubiquitous with R, unlike many other languages that have various IDEs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not crazy about the way RStudio arranges files and projects in the UI but it's a minor complaint at best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use R to handle more complex data problems than I can handle in excel or SQL. I often use the RPostgreSQL package to pull data from Redshift and then manipulate in R.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool and worth your time to try out.

Great upgrade to standard R suite

  • October 03, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is contained within a single window.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are issues when trying to save a graphic as a PDF. Maybe due to R packages being used, but such functions work with other programs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analyses of large datasets. Quick and easy to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great beginning software. Pursue workshops.

Very solid wrapper for the industry statistics standard

  • October 03, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The RStudio packs a number of important features that a standard R does not have. These include the ability to use pull-down menus to install packages, plot charts, import data, and execute blocks of the code. RStudio also offers a very nice editor for coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite all advantages, RStudio still stands far from commercial packages like STATA or EVIEWS in terms of its user-friendliness. Having built-in STATA-like abilities to perform regular statistics tasks, like OLS, GMM, time series tools, etc. using pull-down-menus, and duplicated by a code would be immensely helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Economics and Financial analysis of large data. R is very helpful because it is free, massively parallelizable, and has many useful tools other packages do not have.

R Studio for statistics

  • October 02, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
R is an easy coding language, but it is also flexible and can be used for both simple and complicated coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data cleaning, such as renaming, recoding, and computing new variables in R can be time consuming and results in bulky code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use R Studio for most of my statistical computing.

Great simple product to recover deleted files.

  • September 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and the interface is simple to understand. It's a great product to recover files but not too complex for a harsh learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing really bad to say about this product other than the scan time it takes for larger drives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we have accidentally deleted files, we were able to recover them saving us time.

Great for pretty plots, unclear when you have errors

  • September 27, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I usually use SAS for statistical analysis, but R by far as the most aesthetically pleasing in terms of plots and graphs. The forums online to help are also great
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have an error in the log, the errors are often difficult to decipher. I spend more time figuring out errors than I do actually coding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Presenting graphics in a clear way
Recommendations to others considering the product:
