What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, convenient, and quick to share. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in this program, and working with mounds of data through it. The fact that you can install packages for specific commands helps and makes working with it so much easier
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much wrong with it. Can be a little slow to install a package or compile, and the CRAN mirrors can be a little strange at times, but not much else wrong with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing data from alumni reponses at our summer institutes

What do you like best about the product?
I like using R, but I'm a very visual person and not being able to "see" everything I was doing sometimes irked me. I love that RStudio makes me feel more organized because I've got everything I'm doing with graphs/figures etc in tabs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I just wish that there were better "dark background" color schemes for my eyes, so that the ENTIRE program goes dark
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get things done faster and am more organized, so I can better communicate work in progress to my supervisor

Data analysis

Great software for beginners learning to code!

What do you like best about the product?
The interface of RStudio is great. Once you assign a name to a certain dataframe or object, it stores it in the environment and you can always view them. It is also really easy to install new packages. It is also open source, which is great, and all the packages are freely available and easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when I am looking for certain tools they don't pop up in the Help section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a beginner but I am able to do simple analyses that would otherwise take forever to do in Excel. I am also able to easily make charts and diagrams and if the data changes it is easy to rerun the script.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software for beginners. Really versatile and the many packages allow you to do many different things very easily.

Easy to follow, great for beginners in R and command line

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it has a nice GUI. When an image is generated, it pops up in the corner and the user has the option to zoom in and can save it from the GUI rather than typing into a command line. You can see what it looks like before you save. You can also see characters and strings you have created in the upper right corner of the GUI, so keeping track of what you've created in R is much easier. The drop down menus for installing packages from both CRAN and from source are also really nice!
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little clunky sometimes, though it could be my computer making it that way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis is much easier, and due to the graphical nature of RStudio, it's easier to see what I've done as far as creating objects and strings, and also images.
