MongoDB Atlas the goto Database for Newbie and Professionals
What do you like best about the product?
We can quickly create a Cluster, allowing me to focus on the application rather than the database. This is also beneficial for newcomers because they have a free tier plan. Unlike other databases, you do not need to install multiple components. Creating and managing Schema is not difficult.
What do you dislike about the product?
Restarting the cluster cannot be done by User. We need to contact support team to restart if the node is stuck.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do not have to worry because the MongoDB Atlas handles backup and monitoring. Even as the application grows in size, MongoDB Atlas handles it with ease. Encryption and controls are also beneficial. It is a more user-friendly database management tool than older database languages. Atlas simplifies your job, makes it foolproof, and backs it up so that even if you make a mistake, Atlas will cover you.
Managed Mongodb clusteres in the cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Cicking of a few clusters is really few clicks away with Mongo Atlas and connecting is also very straightforward & platform agnostinc since we are using the mongodb driver. Mongo Atlas Dashboard provides nesasary monitoring and managements featues. Connecting to the clusters
What do you dislike about the product?
Querying and updating the records could have been better when compared with Mongo Compass, which is a Desktop tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we needed MongoDB for our persistence layer, we had the issue who is responsible of managing these database servers. We did not have a dedicted database team who had the speciatly on database management and maintainace. Given the situation, Mongo Atlas' Managed databases were a life saver which helped us to focus on the application developent.
Light and efficient database

It's easy to get started with MongoDB Atlas and easy to implement
What do you dislike about the product?
Should improve website UI hard to understand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
use to store data and that integrates natively with major cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). it help to run my query faster
Best GUI
What do you like best about the product?
It give the GUI you required to work on. Apart from this you can manage all your collections and the project in a single application. Mongodb Atlas can also be run in local machine for testing the APIs
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no problem with Mongodb Atlas. One will find all the features in this application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily create out application with the Mongodb Atlas database. And also its easy to connect with any of the application. Easy to create the project and setup. One can also set-up network restrictions. The metrics and the usage graph is also provided for better understanding.
Simplified Database Management: MongoDB Atlas in the Spotlight
What do you like best about the product?
MongoDB Atlas has made managing our databases a breeze. It's user-friendly, scalable, and fully managed. We love:
Effortless Setup: Quick and easy start, even for newcomers.
Seamless Scalability: Scaling with demand is a cinch.
Fully Managed: No worries about maintenance tasks.
Global Performance: Multi-region deployment for low latency.
Strong Security: Encryption, isolation, and access controls.
Automated Backups: Daily backups for data safety.
Robust Monitoring: Monitoring tools keep us informed.
Integration-Ready: Works well with other platforms.
Community & Support: Helpful community and support options.
Flexible Data Model: Ideal for varied data structures.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certainly, here's a concise summary of what I find less favorable about MongoDB Atlas as a user:
Pricing Complexity: Understanding and predicting costs can be challenging.
Learning Curve: Adapting to the NoSQL model can take time, especially for users from a relational database background.
No Built-In Full-Text Search: Lack of native full-text search can require custom solutions.
Complex Schemas: Flexibility can lead to complex data structures.
Limited Transactions: MongoDB may not be as transactionally robust as traditional databases.
Community vs. Enterprise Features: Some advanced features are only available in enterprise versions.
These considerations are essential when evaluating MongoDB Atlas for your project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Atlas addresses many challenges associated with database management. It simplifies database operations, enhances performance, ensures data security, and allows for seamless scalability. These benefits have significantly improved our overall database management experience, enabling us to focus more on our applications and less on administrative tasks.
MongoDB Review
What do you like best about the product?
It simplifies deploying and managing your databases while offering different versatility.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks capabilities like stored procedures, functions, and triggers. It is also incapable of handling complicated transactions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Run applications anywhere and run it anywhere in the world with Atlas and Scale operations confidently and focus on shipping features.
Perfectly suited as offchain support for dapp
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, quick and well suited for proof of concept applications which generally need free plans.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit difficult to find things on the UI, which is not intuitive but perfect once you get accustomed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted to prototype a dapp on Ethereum and I needed an offchain cloud storage to maitain the document contents private. Atlas emerged as the most efficient solution, for its security level.
Nice visualization of data.
What do you like best about the product?
MongoDB charts is an good tool for data visualization using charts.
Many types of charts are included in this like bar charts, geospatialcharts, scatter plot etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now nothing to dislike.
In future maybe they have to add various tasks in data visualization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MongoDB Charts is solving the problem of Dara visualization.
Scattered data used as input in here and with their algorithms and techniques they visualize that data into more user understandable form.
A stable solution that can be used to store structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data
What is most valuable?
Sharding is an excellent feature of MongoDB. Atlas is an awesome feature of MongoDB that makes life easy.
What needs improvement?
People coming from RDBMS should have the flexibility to write queries in SQL that can be converted into JSON queries. This feature is working, but we can still achieve some integration and make it more flexible. It is not as easy as writing direct queries on Atlas. This feature will definitely increase a lot of users. RDBMS users think this is a different query language, MQL, which is uncomfortable for them.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using MongoDB version 6.0 for more than 12 years as a customer.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
MongoDB is a very stable solution. The solution is a leader, according to the Gartner report.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In our company, around 2000 to 3000 people are using the solution.
How are customer service and support?
MongoDB’s technical support is awesome.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used the RDBMS solution, MySQL.
MongoDB has five to ten times better performance than MySQL. MongoDB has a lot of advantages. With MongoDB, you can store any kind of data, including structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data. MongoDB has a lot of benefits over RDBMS.
How was the initial setup?
It is very easy to deploy MongoDB. If it is deployed on-premises, it takes an hour. It does not need any additional prerequisites or configuration details.
What was our ROI?
We have seen a lot of ROI with MongoDB because it gives five to ten times better performance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
MongoDB's pricing is not reasonable, but it is not as expensive as the others.
The solution's pricing depends on the deal, which includes how long you will use it and the number of deployments. They do not have a fixed cost. However, the maintenance and support cost is included.
What other advice do I have?
I am satisfied with the product.
Our organization has a DBA team of 50 people. However, the work for the DBAs is minimal because MongoDB intends to have zero DBA. They want to develop a product where the need for DBAs is minimized.
Users should approach MongoDB with an open mind, without thinking that it's a different technology altogether and has a different language. Users don't need to develop the application based on a schema. They can develop the application, and the schema will follow.
Overall, I rate MongoDB an eight out of ten.
