Powerful unified platform for scalable data workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Love that it integrates seamlessly across data engineering, analytics and ML teams. Collaborative workspaces are great for productivity

Interface can be a bit sluggish with large workloads

It solves the problem of data silos by unifying data engineering, analytics and Ai on a single platform.

Excellent data platform for large orgs
What do you like best about the product?
We are siloed in many different areas of the company. Unity catalog enables efficient collaborations across teams
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of cost monitoring support with gotchas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Performance tuning in many ETLs without constant monitoring. We looooove not having to directly tune in every ETL with databricks.

Could use a more polished ui for end users to consume the products built on it.

Helping centralize our data, processes and governance.
Unity Catalog streamlines efficiency, despite Compute mode limitations
What do you like best about the product?
The Unity Catalog bundles useful data types together like Tables (delta), Models, Views, Functions and Volumes (for unstructured data). Additionally, the Workflows tab streamlines efficiency to run jobs and pipelines updating and engaging with big data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The worst functionality comes with the compute modes, and the restricted abilities. For example, Dedicated single-user access mode is essential to utilize ML runtimes and some Spark context access; however, Standard shared access mode is key for the latest UC functionality such as engaging with Shallow Clones properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems with managing big data and streamlining execution time while also managing permissions and governance are all problems that are efficiently solved using Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and Unity Catalog.

What do you like best about the product?
This makes it simple and uniform to work with data. I love how it can just be the one stop shop for data warehousing, ad hoc reporting and is my gateway to AI
What do you dislike about the product?
Screen real estate on a web application can be limiting. There's so much content, but you can't just pull apart sections and put them in separate windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting the dots between various data sources to create a comprehensive view of all our data.
