Great product
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can track events at real time with very minimal integration needed on my end. The SDKs provided make it very easy to integrate and use the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love the product so far. Not yet used it long enough to find something I do not like. Only used the tracker so far and it works well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I would like to track user events both in the backend and the frontend. Segment allows me to asynchronously fire events with information that I can then use to understand user behaviour and improve.

Exceptional product, with amazing support!
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Segment Connections for a while now, and the product has delivered on the core promise every single time. Built-in connections with the various platforms make it so easy to implement. The need for tech professionals' help is minimal, as the documentation is well structured and one can find answers to almost everything there. Even if some questions remain un-answeres, the support is always there for you. That creates immense opportunities for business people to use the power of data to support the growth of their business at any stage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though the free tier provides solutions for many challenges, there's still inconsistency with scheduling the destination data syncs. You can't plan a sync whenever you need; it's under a paid tier. There's a workaround, but I believe offering the sync scheduling option would be a huge relief for users still using the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment Connections make data collection incredibly easy. Thus businesses can benefit from the power of data at any stage of development. Not even mentioning the power of having data from various sources under one roof.
Segment is the perfect tool for combining user data across platforms and sources
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Segment is the ability to combine user data from very different sources. No matter if it's from an api, sql or even excel. This makes it possible to very quickly start extracting value from your datasets without first having to spend huge amount of time and resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to quickly set up tracking for spesific events requires some more setup than other tools like Google Tag Manager. This can be a problem for non-technical marketing people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unified tracking across all platforms. The ability to easily identify users across their devices and different touch points has made it possible to visualize and analyze the entire digital customer journey from A to Z.
Segment - The routing service that solved our needs
What do you like best about the product?
Event routing capabilities which help our teams route events to different destinations with the minimum amount of code.
What do you dislike about the product?
Segment should provide session id functionality which can help us in deriving important metrics.
Batching of events while loading to Data Warehouses

Less code and more UI driven functionality
Real Time event based analytics
Creation of Data Lake with less resources

The perfect foundation for a modern-day data stack
What do you like best about the product?
It makes focusing on what's most important a breeze, with easy add-ons of new tech and debug for the ability to follow your data in real-time
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Segment's been helpful where needed and i can't really think of anything i dislike. It works as intended, without downtime or bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It connects all our apps, allows for customisation of our pipelines through functions and reduces time-to-market and analysis.
Flawless
What do you like best about the product?
The integration to our application has been absolutely flawless.
The api is sensical and implementing a new event only takes seconds of expensive dev time.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's great for our use case, but a bit pricey for smaller projects.
It's hard to figure out which user did what from the debugger.
It's not so much a problem with Segment as a problem with another service we use, but one of the destinations we wanted to use would require us to upgrade our plan on that other service. Bummer.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not having to set up and maintain connections between different services. Which barely worked before anyway.
Segment has allowed us to level up our data game across every department
What do you like best about the product?
As a product manager, Segment allows me to get a great understanding of where data is coming from, and where it is flowing to. This allows me to make my data-based decisions far more confidently, as I am sure it is both coming from the right place & is accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike, segment has really made my job easier in terms of data needs.
One recommendation would be the ability to see a longer history of violation history on the home page. Currently, you can only see 24 hours or 7 days. I would also like the option top see the past 30 days.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem segment solved for us was the ability to nail down events for specific actions within our product, and be certain e had the right data on usage at that moment, as well as over time.
A big use case of our segment events is to judge user behavior over an extended period of time, so we can understand what leads to conversion, churn, or many other outcomes.
Segment has allowed us to not only set up the events necessary to track these, but also be confident in the data we are collecting.

Best CDP to have in your growth and marketing stack
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Segment at different companies for the last 6 years and every time I've introduced Segment to a org, it had an immediate impact across multiple teams - marketing, growth, product, cx. Some highlights:
- Flexibility to plug in new tools and replay historical data
- All user data in one place (360 visibility)
- Ease of use and speed of deployment of new campaigns, personalization across multiple channels
- Strong product roadmap and a great support team

What do you dislike about the product?
Segment isn't the cheapest CDP but the price is justified by a strong product roadmap that can lead to product consolidation. You need to have access to technical resources during the implementation phase which can be tricky for smaller teams. Sometimes the inability to use a custom id when sending data to certain destinations is limiting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Segment, all user data was dispersed across multiple data sources - CRM, data warehouse, and product. Segment allowed us to unify data into one place and gave us the ability to instrument personalized campaigns, notifications, and product experiences in real time. Furthermore, with the addition of the Engage product, Segment gave us the ability to instrument user notification system from one place.
Has become a core component in our business
What do you like best about the product?
With over 200 out of the box integrations, it has enabled our business to minimise development effort and seamlessly connect multiple systems in no time.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of integrations to remain in beta and some have required custom solutions due to volume of data, I.e, hubspot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment allows us to create a customer super object and ingest data from multiple sources. This joined data can then be leveraged in many ways
Ultimate CDP
What do you like best about the product?
The connections and personas functionality are critical for our business, as several integrations are built upon Segment as a connector.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price is a bit hefty, but factoring in saved integration and maintenance costs, the price is worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating tracking with paid ads and powering other CRM programs.
