Customer data without headaches
What do you like best about the product?
Segment is doing a great job abstracting and managing a client platform's complexities, including all the known challenges of ingesting real-time streaming data and handling multiple sources to multiple destinations. The management of data sources and destinations is very intuitive and easy. Also, creating new, non-native sources and targets using the Functions feature is very helpful. Using "SQL traits", we keep many complex users attributes in sync across our core business and CRM platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some recent changes in UI are a bit confusing. We miss the SQL server support for the warehouse. In general, due to the Function feature, we can create any missing source and destination we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment solves all problems in creating and maintaining a data platform with a small team. It's very robust, feature-rich, and has a fantastic support team (really, they are overwhelming). Using Segment, we can keep our customers close, helping us provide better products.

Pleasant distribution of events experience
What do you like best about the product?
Pleasant experience using it as a distributer of the events. Their customer support system is also very helpfull.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some integrations (HubSpot) might need some updating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It distributes tracking events to multiple external track repositories.
Excellent CDP for relating multiple data sources
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to visualize the connection points between data inputs and outputs is extremely helpful for understanding how our data connections relate.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a decent learning curve to understanding the system, but there are definitely less user-friendly systems out there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to funnel events from disparate systems and send them to downstream data sources. Additionally, creation of customer segments/personas helps to understand the user base and target marketing, outreach, etc. effectively.
Just a breeze to get all your events sent everywhere
What do you like best about the product?
Really easy to setup new sources and new destinations. They have so many integrations out of the box that it's really rare you don't have what you need.
Debugger tool is quite handy.
I'm always amazed when I discover a team not knowing Segment and wondering if they could benefit from it. It just saves so much time.

What do you dislike about the product?
Based on your permissions sometimes you don't see some sources or destination, but you don't know they're there. Just something stating that some stuff is not displayed would help stop pinging teammates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us collect all the data from all third party tools and send it everywhere we want, very easily. Basically you don't have to wonder if or how you'll connect 2 apis to pass some data from one tool to another.
Saves a lot of time.

Segment is a Awesome CDP with easy and robust setup
What do you like best about the product?
Segment Connectors provide us with an easy understanding of connecting source and destination. It is something like plug and pay which I find is an excellent feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides I notice while working with Segment is that even though they have so many connectors, there are still some well-known platforms that don't have connections as a source or destination—for example, Pipedrive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recently, in cases where they lack connections with any platform, they can provide support by creating great functions. Thou the services are on the expensive side. And also an easy and quick connection with Segment's Solution Archiet also is a great help.
Helps us push data to multiple places
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to centralize all data in the same tool is the best. You don't need to be implement multiple types of tracking pixels or trackers, Segment just takes care of all of that and we are able to push all the relevant customer data to all the tools that we need them to be in like dashboarding tools or email tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integration implementation can vary widely from different tools, and the documentation could be better and updated. The pricing model can be a bit confusing, and it is difficult for us to plan the number we need to buy, but it depends on your business size. Beware not to track too many metrics which are high in volume, like website visits which can very quickly blow up your event budget, so better plan ahead of time and prevent overbilling. It might also lead to slow down your website if yu track too many events, but that is the case with almost every other tracking tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Segment as an intermediary data platform where we push all the customer data that we need to track, then push that data into various other platforms where we need them to be. We save a lot of time implementing tracking in just one place rather than all the places where we need this data to be. It saves a lot of time for the Engineering team, and yet our Product and Marketing teams can get the data that they need in the format that they want
Segment is what ties all our systems together!
What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy to setup Segment sources and destinations. And there are so many native integrations there's almost always a solution built right in.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way usage is measured can be confusing. We don't always know how close we are to our plan limits and what factors are driving it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many inter-related systems that need to share data. Segment is a great tool for tying all of those systems together and keeping them in sync.
Easy to use and reliable
What do you like best about the product?
Segment enables us to easily disperse our information to different tools, which our sales, customer support and other teams use to communicate with our end users efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
I see room for improvement in monitorisation and logging of issues we might encounter between Segment and other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enables us to easily disperse data with multiple 3d party tools instead of manually handling direct communication with those tools.
Quick way to get the data flowing
What do you like best about the product?
Documentation makes the tool easy to use and the UI is clean. Easy to test and debug different kinds of integrations and fast to deploy. Seems like the best option for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of the tool can quite really expensive if your monthly tracked user amount grows quickly and then you might have to choose to leave out some of the analytics events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us to quickly build and test our analytics platform and push the data from the right source to the right destinations. No need to strain the engineering team with integrations.
Previewed segment and it seems great
What do you like best about the product?
Great platform, easy to use, perfect for customer experience.
Im most fond of the data pipeline customization and the easy to use approach meaning less competent resources needed.
Im most fond of the data pipeline customization and the easy to use approach meaning less competent resources needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe that there's nothing clearly that sticks out as vastly negative, perhaps that the data unlocking in the pipeline wasn't as straightforward as i would have hoped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting data and democratizing it across the needful resources which enables more thoughtful decisionmaking processes. This in turn enables better measurement and kpi tracking
