Better than most other tools
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use snippets and wide range of integration support without costing additional spending.

The Middle-Man You Actually Do Need
What do you like best about the product?
Implementing Segment's tracked events is super easy and ends up being a fantastic lightweight all-in-one solution for tracking, planning, pruning, and reliably forwarding the events and properties that you want to destinations that they integrate into (which are MANY). Moreso, they have reverse ETL capability to get data from your warehouse back into Segment in a meaningful way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface when building tracking plans or tracking plan libraries is a bit clunky and awkward to work with, as well as some of the navigation in the Segment UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment allows us to track events and event properties as well as user properties that meaningfully describe what our users are doing on our sites and thoroughly detail our customers and their changing makeup over time. Moreover, Segment allows us to clean out any noise that may come in from various systems and only send what we want to send where we want to send it (and be able to view the status of sent data). This has sped up our insight creation and made insights very reliable with current data synced on a schedule. Lots of hours have been saved by setting up Segment to do what we want it to. Further, by offering a Suppression and Deletion feature, Segment can facilitate a portion of our data protection regulation compliance with a manual nudge.

Segment.com has proven to be an exceptional data collection platform, offering powerful capabilities for gathering data from multiple sources and seamless integration with various destinations. Its strengths lie in its user-friendly setup and efficient debugging process, making it an ideal choice for businesses seeking fast and reliable data transfers between applications like PostHog, Google Analytics, and Power BI.
The experience when I switching data in Customer Success Platform from one to another is absolutely smooth.
Another noteworthy aspect of Segment.com is its efficient debugging tools. Troubleshooting any potential issues during data transfer is quickly, thanks to the platform's comprehensive debugging features. The realtime debug can be seen when done your setup.

What do you dislike about the product?
The billing management process could be more user-friendly. Having to handle billing-related matters via emails every time can be somewhat cumbersome. A streamlined and intuitive billing interface would be a welcome enhancement.

Segment: The one stop solution for product/app analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The segment is the state-of-the-art tool for real-time data collection basis the audience and environment from live applications/SDKs with support for integrations and data analytics
What do you dislike about the product?
The segment is costly compared to other product analytics tools and has some synchronization challenges. Also, maintenance and monitoring require effort to keep the authentic and clean data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment helped us in collecting and analyzing the real-time data with good quality and consistent insights to manage the product strategy, campaigns and deliverables basis the trends observed
Straightforward event tracking for web apps
What do you like best about the product?
Easily add new events to your app in order to better track user behavior. Simple, straight to the point. No fancy unneeded features.
What do you dislike about the product?
UX regarding list of events is not the best. Mass editing would be a plus.

It allows to create a new event that we'd like to track and streamline it across different platforms we have for data analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment is a great tool to collect, manage and persist data from different sources and across multiple channels. There are a lot of native integrations which you can use to connect your current tech stack and select to where you want to store it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not easy to implement Segment. It was made to accommodate different types of companies therefore its architecture is really flexible. You will need specialized labor, a lot of thought, and weeks to sort out the different types of calls, where to use each one in your own case, how to name the events and properties, and go on.
Although, it's this complexity that makes it powerful. But it could have some no or low-code features and some kind of auto-captured events.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To facilitate the capturing of data in our products and persisting in our data lake and though this, make better informed decisions with better data and product analytics.
Integrate once, push everywhere.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way that segment is quite easy for developers to integrate with and is easy to configure where to send that data. It's easy to add any new destinations .
What do you dislike about the product?
Segment gets very expensive over time and becomes just as hard to pull out. So it essentially causes the same problem that it solves but unsure if that is every going to be solved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to integrate several product data SDK's and then having control about where they go without investing engineering time. It provides future proofing and giving control over your data.
Solid for Audience Building and Data Ingestion
What do you like best about the product?
Segment has proven a great out of the box option for ingesting site data and building audiences off this data. It is an easy to use UI, though with limited options for customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have since moved to an in-house solution for data ingestion and audiencing due to the cost and lack of options with Segment. Because it is a good out-of-the-box and easy-to-use option, it doesn't offer us all of the solutions we would love to have and can build in-house. However, for smaller companies without dedicated resources for data ingestion, Segment is a perfect solution!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment is helping us build data ingestion pipelines and create audiences off this data, giving us a way to track users throughout the funnel and sending this data to our redshift warehouse.
Great tool for marketing campaigns
What do you like best about the product?
Easy Integration with other third-party applications in order to target user groups. Not complicated to modify. Gives us great insight into the user journey and allows us to analyze events easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hypersegmentation is complicated and not necessarily possible. Difficult to pinpoint issues when integrating with other tools.
