  • November 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
After we instrumented segment, all of our other tools instantly get integrated.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI isn't great. Especially for slack and zapier integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
connecting lots of platforms like heap, hubspot, slack, userpilot, all with a single click

Segment has the right focus

  • November 16, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Segment describes itself as Customer Data Infrastructure and excels in providing that often neglected foundation for achieving the much sought after 360° view of the customer. In short, they live up to their brand's promise and offer just the right portfolio of functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
They're growing fast and responses from customer service can suffer from it. Yet, there's always a willingness and drive to perform at its best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating disparate databases, fine-grained analytics. Savings on engineering time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Follow Segment's advised plan to implement: Clean -> set up data governance properly -> only then start connecting.

We like it but it's a bit unclear

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Well, it was very user-friendly connecting all of our data sources, very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, even tho we know what it does still some endpoints are not very understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple data sources connected in one data processor which is easier for us to direct it to a data visualization tool and have the BI person give us valuable insights.

Invisible tool that I happy to pay for

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a SaaS founder I have dozen of tools I pay monthly , and Segment sits very silently in the middle and give us a freedom to connect different tools to our tech stack. Before using a segment we used our internal development resources and it was always much more expensive and much longer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still there are some tools that we need to connect via Zappier
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We transfer all the user behavior information around our tools

Powerful tool. Good user experience. Not a fan of G2 though.

What do you like best about the product?
The destination feature is great, allows you to deliver data to multiple destinations easily. Filtering feature is great when designing the data pipeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can be a little unintuitive, also a bit hard to learn about business plan features. The push to get reviews into G2 felt pretty unprofessional.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the same data delivered to multiple destinations.

A maker dream

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having a simple implementation for all my event calls. The debugging options were truely lifesavers at many stages while testing the app in development. We could quickly analyze the events sent by our app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is making in hard for smaller startups. But I am spoiled because as an early adopter I had all features free of charge for years. But now I am quite dependant on Segment :-)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enhanced ECommerce, triggers, interactions after events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As a DevOps and business strategic thinking specialist, I could only recommend Segment to any team seeking superior achievements by mastering their analytics. The warehouse function is also crucial and saved us multiple times being able to cross-reference analytics and data and extract events.

One Source Multiple Targets

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like to implement one service and integrate all other services with the Segment. It's quite great value if you send data to multiple services. You don't need to worry about each implementation separately. Developer time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any negative comments, everything is working properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Don't spend more time on development for integration.

A true partnership

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The software is simple to use, saves a tonne of time and has unbelievable integrations. However, it is the service offered by the Segment team that stands out the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. There are just a few things that can be improved from a UX standpoint between the sheet based tracking plan and the Segment tracking plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scaling our data infrastructure fast and enabling intact teams to use the best tech stack to achieve their desired use cases to ultimately impact their KPIs. We have seen many benefits: 1. the ability to run fast, 2. the wide range of integration, 3. impactful use of our data within a few weeks of kicking off the Segment project internally.

Segments makes data management effortless!

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love the simplicity and reliability of the service. With just one integration, you can control and manage how your data flows into various services.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far there is nothing that we dislike. At times, the integration with third-party services gets outdated (deprecated), so it might take a while to reflect on the Segment (but, we can't really blame segment for this)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a unified and reliable source of data for all the services that we used. With Segment, we're able to achieve that. Segment sends data to the services we care about reliability. And zero effort required on our end for any new integrations. We can constantly test and learn by trying out new services.

Segment saves my team countless hours of development

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Segment solves a problem that has plagued almost every team I have worked on previously. The constant requirement to integrate a new customer tracking system gets in the way of more important work. Segment enables us to look like all stars when another team asks us to "integrate" a new tool into our ecosystem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind. They do the exact thing I want them to do and they do it well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment removes the need to constantly spend development time integrating new tools into our ecosystem. The also provide a great library of tools to search through and identify ways in which we can improve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use their library of integrations as a source of inspiration for adding other tooling into your ecosystem.
