Segment API
What do you like best about the product?
The personas API on Segment has made it easy to retrieve, observe and manage events.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the documentation of the API is hidden or confusing, for instance how to set the posted user id type parameter in the events API endpoint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to retrieve data and show it on an admin panel.

Segment Is The Ultimate CRM Partner
What do you like best about the product?
Segment has been the crux of our ability to track the actions of users on our site that enables paid advertising to have a full-funnel marketing approach. Being able to connect multiple digital platforms such as Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Bing, and many others, has given us the ability to target (and suppress) individuals who have taken key actions on the platform for us to get them to convert.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I dislike about Segment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Audience creation & deployment

Segment Helps Marketers Access & Activate Customer Data
What do you like best about the product?
The pre-built integrations with marketing, data, and analytics platforms make it easy for marketers to use the platforms to set up integrations versus needing engineering resources for every integration request.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features are less intuitive, like tracking protocols; it's unclear sometimes in the platform what's 'required' versus what just helps make your data better versus what might not be helpful from a marketing perspective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment is helping our clients organize and collect data from disparate sources and activate that data in marketing platforms; this is crucial as we enter a 'cookieless future' where we rely more on customer PII more than ever.
Customer Data Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Segment is great for being able to both visualize and control the flow of customer data throughout your various integrations
What do you dislike about the product?
Support Agents are often unhelpful when reporting feature gaps
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to know the full picture about the customer and centralize their data for use in various integrations
Excellent CDP for clickstream event tracking, and data routing
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of implementation with analytics.js library. Long list of Source and Destination integrations that can be enabled with a click of a button. Personas product is a huge value add to create a customer profile graph.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Protocols and Personas setup and onboarding process require a significant amount of setup and team training time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to track customer interactions across dozens of different clickstream sources, as well as third-party SaaS solutions. This reduces the amount of integration, ETL and data movement code we have to write and maintain ourselves.

What do you like best about the product?
Segment is the industry-leading CDP for a reason. It's incredible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only major downside to using Segment is the cost. The more that we scale, the more it will cost. It essentially acts as a tax on all of our growth efforts unfortunately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segment effectively replaces some full-time headcount for us. Instead of building and maintaining our own analytics infrastructure and having to manually integrate with all of our other SaaS providers, Segment makes it all a piece of cake.
Amazing tool for marketers and product teams alike!
What do you like best about the product?
Segmenr grants product and marketing teams greater autonomy to control the experiences they wish to create for users/customers. After our initial integration with Segment, our marketing team's productivity has increased drastically.
What do you dislike about the product?
Continued development for their B2B data structure (accounts) is needed. Would love to see these accounts build deeper integrations into major destinations (Iterable/Braze, etc).

CRM database architecture: massive increase in efficiency and autonomy for marketing team

Best Customer Data Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Amazing and simple Dashboard, how easy is for non-tech users to start adding sources and destinations. Personalized and real-time customer experiences
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, didn't find any points or services that I dislike in Segment, everything is working perfectly all time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting all user data from all our websites and managing them with different trackers (pixels) in one amazing dashboard provided by Segment. It's a complete data toolkit for our team.
Tracking your events with ease and accuracy using Segment
What do you like best about the product?
How simple it is to integrate Segment with other products & platforms. You can add a new destination in a few minutes, and a new source of events in a few hours of development.
Besides, their support team is really capable and has good knowledge of the platform to help you with any issues.

What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to see historical values, and as well a report of how many events were received from each source, and sent to each destination. This would allow me to measure how accurate is each of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking important events & screens, integrations with other platforms for product & mobile analytics, and sending raw events to our data warehouse directly for further analysis....
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Enabling identity merge is important if you would like to reduce the number of MTUs and make sure that events belonging to the same users are tracked under the same profile.
A great platform with awesome support and success staff to help get the most out of the product.

UI is good for setting things up non-technically
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be a lot of jargon and documentation for what, ultimately, is a simple thing.

Hooking up marketing journeys to customer activities, deduplicating customers, managing permissions, pipelining data

It's a great way of wrapping your customer (and other) data together across all your internal tooling.
