    Computer Software

Simple and Easy to use UI

  • June 01, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What we find the best about it is the easy interface because of this it is my team's favorite authentication platform. Auth0 has saved us a lot of time regarding login and signup flows, and we have simplified our privacy policy and terms of service agreement process through the Auth0 actions feature in the Auth0 dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major thing for us is the lack of HTML modifications because to modify HTML you have to switch to the old login box which does not look as appealing as the new universal login box. Another point of dissatisfaction is the fact that we have to host our logo and background instead, which is just an unnecessary extra step for our side
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auth0 helps us by saving us time when it comes to authentication and multi-factor security

Top-tier authentication solution

  • April 16, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Auth0 has a robust solution to handle custom business logic and it is easy to implement through the dashboards.

The support solution through email and extensive documentation has been very helpful to configure things to our needs.
The reliability of Auth0 are impressive providing high uptime and seamless feature activation such as multi-factor authentication to single sign-on .

Integration with existing systems and customizing authentication flows is easy and seamless boosting the day to day productivity of developments. Auth0 provides the flexibility needed to meet diverse business needs within the company and accross apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some devs however have reported a learning curve, particularly when configuring advanced features or customizing authentication flows. Also, there are some prerequisite knowledge about AuthN/Z that is needed to fully understands what auth0 advanced features capability. Enhancing the onboarding process with more interactive tutorials or guided setup wizards could help streamline this process for newcomers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company serves as governement's digital transformation agency that is mandated to transform Indonesia procurement systems. There are many legacy applications in current government procurement system which has its own identity management data and process. Asides from inefficiency, there are many issues related to the data integrity, reliability and security of the infrastructure which becomes more problematic when we are actually facing confidential data in our current procurement system. Therefore we want to transform this system using auth0 as Centralized Identity Management to provides a centralized platform for managing user identities, reducing the complexity of handling authentication across multiple applications and services. This centralized approach simplifies user management, access control, and security enforcement.

Has good documentation but improvement is needed in MFA and application configurations

  • April 03, 2024
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What needs improvement?

There are indeed areas where the product could improve. For instance, Okta offers various application configurations, enabling access management, which the tool could consider implementing. Additionally, it lacks a third-party application for provisioning, a feature that Okta provides.

The tool's MFA is not as good as Microsoft Authenticator or Okta. It relies on email-based MFA, where it sends a code for verification. However, it lacks mobile apps for MFA like Microsoft Authenticator or Okta's mobile client.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is very scalable because it provides a new environment for companies based on their number of users and other factors. The tool can take a lot of users.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't used the tool's technical support yet, but it has good documentation and an online community for support.

How was the initial setup?

The solution's deployment is easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool is cheaper compared to competing solutions. Those alternatives tended to be more expensive. Consequently, Okta purchased it because it was considerably cheaper. The solution even offered some free services while still providing excellent functionality.

However, I'm unsure about the current pricing structure since Okta acquired it. Okta aims to make money, and it has faced security issues in the past.

What other advice do I have?

The tool's universal login feature impacted user experience mostly in the social login aspect. This includes accessing platforms like Facebook or WhatsApp using a Gmail account, which has become standard and is no longer seen as rocket science. When you log in, the company generates an SSO token, often from Azure AD. I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.

A cloud solution to build log-in and sign-up experiences with ease of use

  • January 15, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Developers use the solution to build log-in and sign-up experiences. Auth0 provides an API key that is integrated with the code. We provide sign-in and sign-up instead of making our sign-up, sign-in, invite-user, and forgot-password. We buy Auth0 and integrate it; they run it on their cloud.

What is most valuable?

The solution offers simplicity of use. They have too much enterprise onboarding when you want a B2B login. The first quick start is the easiest thing. You have too many tutorials and YouTube guides to help you integrate it with your code.

What needs improvement?

It is expensive and not friendly to small developers. On the other hand, Clerk is user-friendly for smaller companies.

Auth0 could become more easier. B2B organizations need to catch up with the price. Multi-tenancy needs to be less expensive, and the ease of use and onboarding must also be better. Three tenants are allowed for every account. They have to improve their organizational features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Auth0 for one year. We are using the cloud version of the solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product’s stability is fine.

I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our clients' products have close to 200-250 active users. It is charged based on the number of active users. It has more significant customers like Jira.

I rate the solution's scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Customer service used to be very responsive. Now, the community support is helping us for a long time. Whatever you are looking for, you will get it in the community support forum. Auth0 has community forums, help documentation, and Q&A. The user community of Auth0 is very supportive when you need help. The dedicated support forum is overwhelmed. It's becoming harder to reach someone unless you have a bigger account.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have used Keycloak for a very long time.

How was the initial setup?

Auth0 has an SDK that calls their servers. We have to install the SDK in our codebase, and our developers must integrate it with our sign-in and sign-up pages. It takes the least amount of time compared to alternatives. It is well-documented and is the best solution in the market.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is expensive.

I rate the product’s pricing a seven out of ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We are evaluating SuperTokens and Lock. If Auth0 becomes expensive, we can host another solution.

What other advice do I have?

It is a good product if you are a B2C or B2B solution or any app or consumer product.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Auth0 employs hostile/predatory pricing tactics

  • December 06, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The service works well and is rarely down.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing. They were already expensive, then they recently raised pricing 300% (from $0.023 to $0.07), including for existing customers. This is unheard of and predatory after customers invested in the platform assuming the prior pricing model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managed customer auth service

    Automotive

Fairly straight forward and good product overall.

  • December 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Flexible
- Easy to use but also very customizable once you get familiar with the platform
- Great documentation and examples
What do you dislike about the product?
- Complex pricing for enterprise features
- Pricing has increased dramatically since being aquired by Okta
- Rigid pricing structure
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Offloading the work of managing users, privacy and security requirements and integrating more complex features like SSO, MFA and RBAC.

Misusing their position and stopped develop the product

  • September 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The product somewhat works, but there are better alternatives and I would not recommend using them unless you are ok paying a premium not getting anything in return.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product is not being developed. Even giant bugs that stop your users from logging in take weeks to fix.
They are super expensive; it could look like decent pricing, but when you consider that they deliver no support and have operational issues, I would say they are overpriced.
I want to warn people: if you want your customers to log in with SAML, Azure AD, etc., you must be on the enterprise plan (unless you have less than 3 customers with the need). Enterprise starts at +$35k, depending on MAU. Commercially, they have very junior sales people who say things that are not true on pricing and product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Login users with Social, SAML and email

Easy to implement Authentication Software

  • September 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) and the anomaly detection work pretty well.
It also supports SSO making it easy to sign up to different applications using the same credentials easily.
It has a lot of customization potential so that you can set the level of security according to you.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its pricing could have been more justified if it was stated at a bit lower price.
The token management process is quite a bit complicated and tedious to perform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AuthO helps to handle authentication to the data at a big scale pretty well. Its SSO and anomaly detection are very much optimized and help protect the system. Its pre built SDK's and libraries help in the ease of implementation.

  • July 20, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use the tool for Single Sign-On (SSO) feature.

What is most valuable?

Auth0, being deployed on the cloud, provides all the functionality in a single place. We don't need to maintain machines, inventory, or procurement. It has a lot of customization and out-of-the-box features as well. We can quickly plug it into products like Active Directory or other identity broker solutions.

What needs improvement?

There could be an easy integration with IoT devices for the product.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Auth0 for four or five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable platform.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 100 users for the platform in our organization. It is very scalable.

How was the initial setup?

We deployed the product on a private cloud by Auth0. Its initial setup process is user-friendly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is a relatively inexpensive product in the industry.

What other advice do I have?

Auth0 is quite a low-cost and stable product. It provides a lot of good functionality as well. It is easy to use, manage and is very intuitive. Additionally, we can look at the logs and troubleshoot the issues.

I rate it an eight out of ten.
