A true silver bullet to our data silos problem

  • December 19, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can send any kind of event from the customer journey and it easily becomes available to build new attributes, audiences and campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a test environment. Do everything with real life data sometimes is scary. Sometimes is hard to figure out how AudienceStream will stitch a user and we end up with users being joined.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to have the same audience receiving an e-mail, viewing a banner and receiving a call that have the same subject or context.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't make the mistake of comparing it with a DMP, they complement each other. I strongly recommend starting with a CDP and then evolving to using it together with a DMP.

Audience Stream is an AMAZING CDP, but it takes work

  • December 13, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can do pretty much anything with AudienceStream. It's a very flexible tool that can bend to meet pretty much any use case using web data.
What do you dislike about the product?
AudienceStream can be difficult to use. It is def. more a data developer toolset than a marketer toolset, but a techy marketer could get the job done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our first use case for Audience Stream was to trigger a real time Abandon Cart email. It was a simple use that showed the power and flexability of the tool. From there we have been able to create a dozen or so programs around the data that feed into pretty much all of our marketing channels and tools. We could not get anywhere close to where we are without AudienceStream.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The truth is, any CDP you choose will not be a silver bullet. It takes a lot of planning, coordination and communication to implement any CDP across any organization. If you go full stack on Tealium (Tag Management, Audience Stream, EventStream), it makes it easier to manage the data going in and the data coming out, but it's ganna take work.

Almost anything is possible

  • December 12, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AudienceStream allows for consistent segmentation across various proprietary platforms and, unlike most DMPs, persists 3rd party IDs and can accept PI. With AudienceStream, we are able to trigger tags based on cumulative user behavior in addition to standard event tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
AudienceSteam is an advanced platform and might not be suitable for all organizations. If a website/brand lacks user authentication or online KPIs, the value will be harder to quantify.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our business problem was audiences were silod and we did not have a single view of the customer. We were able to minimize media waste and integrate data across multiple different adtech and martech platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A robust data layer is critical to success. Make sure that you have a great understanding of you site and implement for the future.

Great product for f

  • December 07, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Tealium solves so many problems from the beginning to end of the marketing process. It captures data from multiple online and offline sources and stitches customer data together across those sources, which helps us find opportunities for marketing to our customers. It then gives us the ability to create audiences off of that data, and push those audiences into different marketing platforms (social, email, website, etc.). Then it gives us ownership of all the data we need to measure how those marketing efforts are performing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve, and getting set up takes some time. Tealium was great through that whole process though, and really helped drive the implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had problems personalizing campaigns across multiple marketing channels, and tracking behavior cross-domain to see how our campaigns were performing. With Tealium, we now have more personalization than ever across multiple channels, and have great visibility into customer behavior.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product, great staff - they really care about their customers' success.

AudienceStream - Vendor Agnostic CDP

  • December 07, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The number of connectors and uniformity of our own datasets, which can be leveraged across our various vendors we use. The customization and flexibility of the CDP allows us to use it for multiple use cases including pushing visitor data to the client browser side, and enhancing profiles for re-targeting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The organization of badges and grouping can be confusing as you start to scale your use cases and audiences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To build our own segments based on our own data, transport the data based on our requirements, and also using a combination of TiQ + AS to modify/enhance our data points. The speed in which we can stand up an audience and apply it to a specific use case is fairly quick. Their validation tool, trace is easy to use and fairly detailed.

A true platform for customer data in a sea of wannabe "CDPs"

  • December 06, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When building a new data technology stack for our B2C business, some of our goals included eliminating data silos, reclaiming control and ownership of our data from our ad vendors, learning as much as possible about our customers without being creepy, and being able to craft the best personalized experiences for customers we could.

To accomplish these goals, it seemed a no-brainer that we'd want a platform which collected event-level data from our website and then did cool stuff with it, such as sending it (reliably) to vendors, or aggregating it into visitor profiles so that we could learn about our visitors and take actions on them. We try to hold ourselves to a very high standard in how we treat customers, so we weren't looking for simplistic actions such as, "Show a retargeting ad to everyone!" Instead, we were hoping to apply much more sophisticated rules for real-time decision-making on how to best message and treat our visitors.

I learned there was an entire category of "Customer Data Platforms" and figured it'd be easy to choose one. Nope. We vetted many and were disappointed by nearly all of them, since it turns out most of these platforms are simply email marketing tools or ad vendors who have taken to labeling themselves as "CDPs" in order to ride the latest trend. None of these tools could actually accomplish our goals, and many of them actually seemed to make our data silo problem worse.

Tealium was the exception, and seemed to solve our problems, so we started a year ago. It's been a great experience. We consider them the conductor of our martech orchestra, so to speak. We've achieved our goals via the platform, even though we've still only scratched the surface in some areas. I've also been really impressed with their team--smart, straightforward people. Some of our other vendors may have a cool interface but leave you feeling poorly supported. This has never been the case with Tealium.

Long story short, I recommend them more highly than I'd recommend most any other tool we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned above, I view Tealium as having massive potential, so any shortcomings we've had with it have more been a function of our own limited time and resources (we can't immediately implement all the cool features on offer). Good problem to have, I guess.

We once had a certain day's data partially impacted by some system testing on their end, which made it tough to use the data from that particular day. Generally, though, I've never seen Tealium go down or have data unavailable, and their system is solid.

Tealium is a Javascript-based tool, which makes sense but means that I as a non-web developer sometimes get a little confused when implementing our most complicated custom tags. Their team has always helped me promptly without any problems, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Addressed above. Achieving single source of truth about our website event data, eliminating data silos, implementing all tags and scripts from third-party tools and vendors, aggregated data into visitor profiles, taking cool sophisticated actions on visitors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't trust the recent wave of companies marketing themselves as CDPs---most are simply messaging or ad platforms with a few added features. Instead, go for a dedicated platform like this.

An awesome insight into Audience Analytics

  • June 12, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The intuitive dashboard which displays all the relevant information pertaining to your particular market.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are almost TOO many options. While information is great some of the information needs to be sorted effectively so that more time isn't wasted choosing options and filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding common trends between consumer profiles in order to effectively market toward them better and understanding why they were purchasing the items that they were.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tealium is a great software if you're wanting to step into the realm of mass data analytics and the ability to visualize trends.

Good product but needs an upgrade

  • April 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like managing all pixels in one location. Integration from website is easy too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tags are sometimes outdated, there isn’t an easy way to search keywords of pixels in tags, and they use jquery for event handlers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pixel management. We have about 100 tags and 300 extensions.
