Functional and Budget Friendly

  • May 29, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability for the system to ingest any data through the event-based architecture makes it incredibly functional. Additionally the pricing is very fair. When all other CDPs were quoting us 6-figure price tags, Tealium came in well under the $100,000 mark. The pricing structure is very fair as the main cost component is events, so the price increases only as you grow.

The large number of connections to third party platforms is awesome, as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it wasn't strictly event-driven. Meaning I wish there was a way to add badges, or metrics to users based on past events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved a number of problems with Tealium but the biggest benefit is that we've begun to reduce data silos. Having a single place of orchestrating customer data has helped so much. Additionally it has given marketers the ability to pass data into various activation platforms.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that there are multiple connectors to trigger marketing Campaigns. This helped us test many campaigns quickly and understand their impact. It helped us ramp up our marketable audience base as more visitors were recognized.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to have some scripting ability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shorter cycle time to Test Marketing campaigns without involving the tech teams.

Unlocking an Audience for all platforms

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We love the ability to make audiences and get those audiences out to all the different marketing platforms and data repositories that we have.
What do you dislike about the product?
The rules engine can be complicated, but that is also why it's so powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In real time - all our of marketing platforms can now share the same audience groups. This allows our messaging to remain consistent for a customer during specific phases of the journey, and adjust in real time when they move into another stage.

Audience Stream - Simplified Connection

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Audience Stream capability is something that other Tag Managers don't offer. It makes engineering the connection of sharing first party data with other media platforms much simpler as there is a direct integration with the data layer that has already been built on our web and mobile apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not quite a full DMP, which isn't entirely needed but the marketplace capabilities of adding additional audiences would help streamline even further.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have not had to setup a DMP, which is amazing because the cookie-less browser landscape is drastically changing in the next couple of years with Chrome's updates.

The foundation of your MarTech stack

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great way to bring all of your first party data together into a single data hub, clean your data so you are operating from a clean database, and create actions based on that data. We have investigate many of them and it is the best system on the market for consolidating your first party data into one place. It also has a simple, easy to use interface. Finally, once it is setup, it is fairly simple for non-technical people to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
In order to truly get the benefit of the system, you need all of the modules including AudienceStream, EventStream, DataAccess, IQ, and now Predict. It is difficult to separate out AudienceStream on its own and can get pricey with all of the modules. Also, to install Tealium IQ, the tag manager, it can be time consuming since both the universal tag and the data objects need to placed in the body of each page on your website rather than in a global header.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest issue we were trying to solve was connecting all of our data silos into a single, 360 view of the customer. We have non-standard products we use for tracking sales information and other data. Tealium finally allowed us to see how our marketing activities were impacting sales results. Also, it helped greatly improve our personalization across marketing channels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an intensive roll out. Please be sure to prep your web team for a lot of work to implement the tags and data objects. However, they do provide a dedicated team and implementation tools that help significantly.

Strong platform, perhaps too complicated for average marketing team

  • May 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Agnostic platform, easy to connect to most platforms, and keeps fairly updated. (Could be a bit quicker in keeping up with all of Facebook's constant updates). Should have a dedicated team
What do you dislike about the product?
Less marketer friendly UI, no clear audience sizes, analysis features (overlap analysis, match rate) that DMPs currently have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to connect technical consumer database with realtime .com data, then pushing to outbound activation platforms
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a strong team dedicated and ready to keep attributes and audiences updated, making sure datalayer is clean and usable for marketing purposes

Target Your Website's Visitors Using Data

  • May 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tealium AudienceStream allows our organization to categorize users based on their real-time behaviors and send them re-marketing campaigns accordingly. Assigning visitors into audiences and Tealium AudienceStream's media connectors makes personalized media targeting a breeze. The ability to generate data-driven audiences allows us to intelligently track users' behaviors and reach out at the best moments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tealium AudienceStream can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many various ways of using data strategically that I don't believe we're quite using the tool to its full potential (yet). As we learn more about the offerings of the tool we can pivot and iterate accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to be able to segment our visitors properly. Which users exhibit high-value behaviors? Which users are only just considering us as a brand? Tealium audienceStream helps answer these questions. Granularly understanding our visitors with Tealium AudienceStream data has provided us with a new method of re-marketing.

Tealium all around is very helpful, engaged and cares about the outcome.

What do you like best about the product?
It's robust, yet simple enough that you can get started right away. They have been eager to help with new features and creating helpful recommendations. The user interface is well organized and you can spend as little or as much time in it as you want, but you will see benefit to a thought out plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes finding what is linked to a particular attribute, tag or extension can be difficult. A flow chart of how all things are linked would be nice, but also may not be worth the effort if it takes away from the overall product. This would allow users to easily identify what is in use and what isn't to potentially deprecate anything that may not be applicable anymore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to retarget customers easier when they abandon carts, even when we don't know them. We are also able to make better recommendations in a timely manner. We currently operate under a two domain system where our transactions come from one domain, but customers typically come to another initially and Tealium helps to stitch those sessions together so we can see the path of our visitors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To get the most out if it you should have a plan of what you want in order to implement that from the beginning. Gather more data and not less. I realize plans change, but if you gather more in the beginning you'll be able to use that later.

Tealium is a great manager for all your marketing efforts

  • May 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tealium is a flexible platform that enables us to manage all our marketing tags in one platform. It has great integration with all our partner companies, and the marketing team can easily implement campaigns with little tech/eng assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The amount of javascript required to do some basic campaigns
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to customize messages to audience segments and display them on site, which we've never been able to do before.
