Appian Experience

At the beginning of my training period, it was much difficult for me to understand. But as I get to know about and learned it,it become very easy to understand all the terms. I found it very interesting to work with appian. The work which usually takes hours to complete is done within minutes.

The business process automation is great and giving us more insights to focus on the area where we are failing. Helping not only saving costs but also saving resources aswell. The overall performance of the tools is also well with millions of business processes are running well.

There is nothing such as which causing issue. One thing is the cost can also be minimized the performance improvement is always good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The manual intervention went down and many of processes getting automated , the frequency of execution is very high which is giving us more output. so we are happy.

Easy to improve, better with time
What do you like best about the product?
Appian keeps getting new features through the years, 4 per year, and they add so much value everytime, this being one of the main reasons Appian stills in the market, implementing multiple services making it useful for all companies. Also this is something that might be simple but documentation is great compared to another systems. Interfaces look great and everytime this is being improved. Not a lot of systems do that!
What do you dislike about the product?
Here in my team, we have something called "Appian horror tales" which is when sometimes something breaks with no explanation, somethings that gets errors when you run them again, they work and that is kind of confusing. Also as much as Appian is being great improving over time, there are some functions that still are not there but they must like a live view for local variables as that's one of our main pains when modifying code made by another person. One thing that could be better is the pricing because even though Appian is great, is expensive for a lot o countries and companies, making it difficult for Sales people. Lincenses are very expensive and companies are suposed to have a lot of users, making this kind of hard to get even when explaining the return of investment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with banking, manufacture, and multiple type of problems, and Appian help us solving all of companies headaches with smooth processes, and for me, the best BPM that's out there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get to the courses and activities, it will help a lot
Appian did an amazing job creating our Global system.
What do you like best about the product?
I like Appian so that you can integrate into many other applications to ensure a continuous process flow. Appian has the capability of providing real-time data on all connected systems. It is possible to create very strong graphical and textual documents. The opportunity to provide a client with a place to work, without any other requests, reports and documents needing to be shown. It allows a client to communicate with the device in a very oriented manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some further improvements in the graphical user interface, but it has been a long journey. The delivery model could make use of a certain simplification, in particular the design and design unification. Providing users with a large number of groups of complex applications can be tedious. Any additional changes could be made to the pages. There is actually no news service on one site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have apps entering many of our divisions and certain applications for all of our clients. We have been able to solve many of the issues in our processes since we began using Appian. It has allowed us to automate business processes so that our users can replicate them and make them easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I suggest Appian for companies which want to find and translate information along complex routes in an business logic that is meaningful and appropriate to the context. Appian wasn't able to accomplish a situation I knew. Appian can integrate and provide data and reports on the applications with many applications.

Appian Application Design and Development Lead Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Appian allows for significant and contextually relevant business logic to expose and or route data along complex paths. The system is extremely flexible with very few limits as to the logic that can be applied.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Appian has made significant strides in improving its design features it still lacks the ability to design forms that are little more than a utilitarian look and feel. As of its recent release, the ability to affect the look and feel of an Appian interface has improved but there are still areas that can be frustrating. For example, many of our applications employ grids to capture and expose data. The grid functionality lacks many of the features However, the efforts being directed to consistently move interaction into more of today's capabilities are still lacking. Much more R&D is going into automation and AI integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Across our various business units, many processes were being managed via email and spreadsheet. In addition, many business units were either having to work in multiple applications and or outdated apps (SharePoint 2010). Appian has provided the ability to act as a "spine" where they connect to other enterprise applications to push/pull data along its flow. The flexibility in what can be developed and employed continues to make the platform an extremely versatile tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
BPM platforms are very complex. Evaluating each platform is time consuming and requires a commitment for the evaluation team to learn at a high level how each platform works. To make the most informed decision I would recommend that you do the following: Create evaluation criteria and apply a defined score to each so that you are evaluating apples to apples. Determine the requirements of a small POC and have each organization develop the POC. Finally if you determine Appian is the platform for you then once you deploy then choose a small application as your first project.
