Promising low code platform
What do you like best about the product?
Apian is a low-code development platform that is very easy to use. They have good documentation, and new users can easily pick it up. The Appian community is very supportive and quick to respond to any queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found it a little challenging to use their debugging features during development, which can be significantly improved. Also, I think that their product is overpriced. I wouldn't say I liked their reporting feature. Sometimes when you face issues during development, you need some coding knowledge to fix them. Since their debugging tools are inadequate, troubleshooting can become challenging if what you are building is not simple.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have greatly benefited from using Appian for some simple use cases internally. We can quickly implement prototypes from scratch in no time, and the apps are responsive.

Experience administrating, developing and supporting the Appian product.
What do you like best about the product?
Appian has a nice UI out of the box and development is faster than traditional languages like C#. This allows you to focus on designing solutions and not trying to make the product look pretty.
What do you dislike about the product?
Appian meets my requirements 90% of the time out of the box but trying to do something Appian was not designed to do can be challenging. Choosing the right projects to leverage the Appian platform is a must to maximum the return on investment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Appian is great at digitising paper forms and creating workflows with approvals. Helping staff manage all these forms allows them to spend more time doing the more interesting parts of their jobs.
Interactive and informative
What do you like best about the product?
Demo of customer usecases and internal Appian application
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to learn new and recently added features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Invoice Reconciliation Management
Great BPM solution
What do you like best about the product?
If you make a good application, it will be very useful and efficient for companies
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are long response times from the cloud server
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralize all business in the Appian application
Powerful but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
Allows to have different processes under the same platform connecting different systems
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is expensive and recurring every year
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am an implanter, not an end customer. Appian has been implemented in the company's internal processes to generate security and data protection files.
Platform where everyone can contribute from any industries for developing software
What do you like best about the product?
I wouldn't say I enjoyed writing code to create software. Still, when I worked with Appian, I loved that we could develop applications without utilizing Java or Python because it is a low-code language. Anyone can use this software to work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only a small number of people aware of Appian utilize it, and Appian is a new product on the market. As a result, sometimes, even after finishing my assignment and searching Google, I could not find the answer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was working through issues with Appian RPA when I noticed how much simpler it would be to create a bot in Appian RPA than in other languages. So I liked to work in Appian.
No code is the future
What do you like best about the product?
The idea to simplify the most common needs and the boost that gives to delivery through this approach.
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost nothing. Appian is not perfect but it is very close to our needs. Platform needs to be improved in aspects like DevOps and Source Safing but it's already happening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Appian across different business areas. We automatized processes related to Credits, Anti Money Loundering, Compliance and so on. Mainly we are using Appian to automatize the most company processes.
Appian tops the chart when it comes to business outcomes & process orchestration
What do you like best about the product?
Being a major financial enterprise,Appian has tremendously helped us to build effective & efficient applications. It has helped us to meet the business demand of digital transformation. Efficient Process Modelling & Designing, ease of deployment and maintenance, rapid application development capabilities, user-friendly UI & seamless integration this list can go on. it's quite a remarkable performance compared to other orchestration platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since all citizen developers may not come from a robust technical background the rule expression language which Appian uses can be struggle at times. Also Appian Academy need to come up with more role-based curriculums & instructor led virtual sessions for the aspiring L1 & L2 candidates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a low code platform which provided ease of deployment, maintenance & seamless integration also which talks closely to Agile Frameworks. Appian has it all.
Probably wouldn't recommend for any data heavy applications.
What do you like best about the product?
The Design interface makes it easy to create nice looking interfaces. The visualization and ability to test individual components makes debugging easier. I also love the version history feature for comparisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Where do I begin? First ARRAYS START AT 0 NOT 1. Who thought that was a good idea? You cannot just update a single first within an object you need to copy all the other fields and then reassign the value, which is super annoying. No real breakpoints for debugging loops. Too many levels can make it hard to track down exactly where something is failing because the error reports can be vague. Really really hard to do any sort of computational heavy things because of limitations with how data is passed and reassigning variables. There is just a lot that makes it hard to work with this system. Especially since I'm working with code that Appian designed and it's clear they don't even know how things are supposed to work and can't even use their code cleanup tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It replaced an old outdated management system that did heavy analytics. It looks much much nicer and has fast responsiveness. The clients seem to like the interfaces.
appian platform is very useful to build an ecosystem of enterprise workflow based applications
What do you like best about the product?
(1) the most useful feature of appian is the workflow design feature: try to build the same workflow with appian and with a general purpose language and you'll notice the benefits of using appian.
(2) the UI design feature is very rich, in terms of widgets, behaviors, ....
(3) appian have its own application patterns (sites, record types, ...): they are useful to build omogeneous applications (in terms of UI and implementation structure)
(4) the design tool offer many useful samples/patterns to build different kind of interfaces
(5) the integration features are very powerful

What do you dislike about the product?
(1) even if it's low-code, you need very good developers: they must be experienced developers so they can learn easily new constructs and a new Language, otherwise you will be stick with the tool;
(2) you should not use appian for single isolated applications;
(3) you should be aware of the technical lock-in imposed by this platform and adopt the platform 360° and for long time;
(4) the "source" management is less structured than in general purpose languages (you cannot branch, you cannot set a baseline, all developers must operate on the same environment,...)
(5) sometimes processes must be user in unnatural scenario (when there is not a real workflow)
