One of the great low code platform
What do you like best about the product?
It enables fast paced development. Easy to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less information availability outside the community.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing all kind of applications using Appian. Complies are delighted to see and receive ready to use applications in minimum TAT.
Powerful but not for all the cases
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that you are able to easily implement your solution if you follow the Appian guidelines.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to implement any custom functionality, it's very complex to write the code for a simple operation that you would do super smoothly in any other programming language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The project is about integration and visualization of data and enabling the managing of hyperautomation processes (so related to the RPA field).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
So in general I think, as I already mentioned that if you want to use this platform for what it's meant to, it's really simple to use and you can accomplish your goal. You can define the data model and the interfaces through which you can access and manipulate the data. I like the fact that you can use the application both in desktop mode and mobile in a native way without worrying about layouts, scaling and things like that.
The approach is low code, and actually it's true, but I think this is also kinda limited. I don't think there is the perfect platform for accomplishing everything you need, in fact in many cases we needed to implement some custom functionality and it was a mess (and still is). The programming code is completely custom and I never saw something so tricky to do even the basic operation like casting, looping, assigning variables and so on.
So I stick to the title of my review.

There is room for improvement on scalability and throughput

Appian is used for the orchestartion and automation of data flows across variety of data ingestion, integration and provisioning use cases

Easy to Navigate UI and customizability. .
What do you dislike about the product?
Progress bar for loading in between pages can be hard to see for new users .

Highly Bespoke workflows for multiple programs of work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth looking into to replace old methods of Business process Management. Replaced alot of Emails and phone calls

I love how Appian has an excellent user interface. The fields are user-friendly, easy for developers to build, and easy for business users to comprehend. There are limitless options when it comes to system enhancements, and Appian makes that possible!

There are some limitations to grouping and giving a large number of users access to Appian; improvements in this category would help to drive business value and experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company is solving a significant gap in tracking contractor processes. We can track the time from when a contractor applies for a job to when we send them to work at the client site. This process used to be done manually on excel spreadsheets; now, we have several integration processes that improve how fast we can get contractors to start working.
Low Code
What do you like best about the product?
I like the efficiency of low code and looking forward to exploring the RPA solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some limitations in layout options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using it for traditional websites. One of the benefits is the mobile web app will be automatically developed along with the website without extra effort.

Few features are less when compared to the market leader. Few platforms are even more low-code

It requires a middle layer to build reusable components, which require vendor dependency.

we used to work with excel files and now we build on-cloud applications. It guides us in the process and centralise all the information in one place.

Appian community is the best part of Appian, which serves as a backbone of any developer during any technical difficulties and to gain knowledge from more experienced people.

Appian support services need to improvise in terms of any issue resolution or even the responding speed.

Appian can help us solve any problem that the user can think of, and its capabilities are gradually improving day by day to cover all aspects of business solutions possible.
