Brings all data processes under one platform and simplifies collaboration across teams

  • October 10, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Domo mostly for ETL purposes and dashboarding purposes. Data engineering, data analytics, data science, everything related to data. It's an integrated business intelligence tool. You can connect your data from various sources, transform them into the tool, display it on the dashboard to get meaningful insights.

Effectively, we have done some projects for different customers on the platform and the effectiveness is in the sense of automation of different kinds of reports that the customers want to see. Frequently updating data sources and the data should be updated on a frequent basis. It can be on a daily basis, hourly basis, the data can be refreshed and accessed by the teams in the sense that they want to use it for their business processes. They want to have the latest insights, KPIs delivered to them.

Decision making, for example, there can be some warehouse data that needs to be updated and some decisions need to be taken based on what kind of stock replenishment a particular customer wants to do in their warehouse. The decisions can be taken by looking at the refreshed data, the calculations that are done. What is the expected forecast of the stock that might need to be stocked up inside the platform, in the warehouse. This was one of the use cases. Related to this, there can be multiple other things which can be made use of. A customer can look at a particular KPI and make a business decision which can benefit their company in terms of reducing costs and maximizing profits.

Domo analyzer has multiple charts. There are hundreds of charts we can choose from to display our data. It depends on what the customer wants to see and how the interpretation of the KPI needs to be made.

We can create our own automotive agents inside the platform as well. AI agents for automating some tasks. We can make use of that.

It's pretty much useful in cases where we want to forecast a time series kind of data where the future forecast depends on some time value. The capabilities of Domo to predict for future forecast is pretty good and we can make use of it.

Mobile accessibility allows us to give different alerts and notifications to the end users about changes happening in their data, if there are any threshold values that are changing and need the attention of the end user. We can alert them on their mobile phones. They can also view the dashboards or the reports that we have created on their mobile apps.

What is most valuable?

The one thing that stands out in case of Domo is that you have everything under the same tool. You don't have to log in into any particular cloud services to have access to that platform. It's just a web-hosted platform. Everything related to data engineering, data science, ETL, everything comes under the same umbrella. You can do it on the same platform. We have different connectors to connect with different data sources, and these connectors are pretty much available for each and every data source in the industry.

It's pretty much understandable for any non-technical user to make use of the dashboards that are prepared. As the end goal of most of the end goals or end products of any use case in Domo leads to creation of any report or a dashboard that can be understood by any non-business, non-technical person.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes the tool tends to be a little laggy, but it depends on what kind of volume of data that we are working in. If it's large, then it can be a little bit laggy in the sense it can take a little time to load and do some transformations on the data.

I don't think Domo is lacking any capability as far as the industry trends or requirements are concerned. But as we move towards the adoption of AI and LLMs, I think creation of LLMs and vector embedding, these sorts of stuff can be included inside the platform. I'm sure it has already been implemented as I speak of it. But that's what is something that I haven't noticed till now.

In terms of pricing, it depends on what kind of model you're going for. There are two kinds of pricing systems. One is credit-based and one is consumption-based. If the Domo instance is on credit-based, we have to be careful about the transformations and the number of rows that we are working for. In terms of cost comparison to other BI platforms or data engineering analytics or data science platforms, it comes on a little costlier side. But given the kind of functionalities that it offers under one umbrella, it is pretty much worth it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Domo for around two and a half years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Domo can be a little costlier if the data volume is high as compared to other Azure or GCP solutions. It can come on a little costlier side, but given the kind of advantages that Domo offers, it's really worth it. Everything comes under the same umbrella and it's pretty user-friendly. A non-technical person, completely business person would be able to understand the technicalities of it pretty easily.

How are customer service and support?

I have raised a few tickets in the tech support and the tech support is pretty brilliant when it comes to solving technical problems. The problems are taken care of in a very prompt manner. They are solved pretty decently as far as the complexity is concerned. No matter how complex the problem is, it can be taken care of by the support team. The support team is pretty brilliant.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have worked on some platforms ranging from Databricks. I have worked with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, MySQL, it's a data engineering tool that we can make use of. I have worked with ClickHouse as well. I'm a certified ClickHouse developer, so we make use of that.

How was the initial setup?

In terms of the setup, you just need to have a login ID and password. Or there can be a single SSO sign-on process. It's pretty easy. Setup from a technical perspective, we have to pull data from different sources and make changes on it, but it is not something that a non-technical person needs to look at. It can be handled by some data engineers or data analysts.

What was our ROI?

I haven't personally looked at the ROI point of view as I am a technical user of it. I do technical stuff. I analyze data, transform it, do data engineering stuff. In terms of ROI, the company that I'm working for, the business users or the business head takes care of it, so I won't be able to answer that.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Domo is a completely integrated tool. We don't have to have any access to a particular cloud to log into their services. They have their own instances that are allocated to different clients. We can make use of it directly. That is one advantage that I can think of. Apart from that, in terms of functionalities, it is pretty much the same that is available in each and every tool.

What other advice do I have?

If you want everything inside one hood, you don't have to think about a lot of services as far as cloud is concerned. You don't have to think about the storage, you don't have to think about buying different cloud services, then you should go for Domo as everything comes under the same umbrella. You just have to think about the cost part.

I would rate Domo 9.5 out of 10.

Training and support have been necessary while transitioning from other tools

  • October 08, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My job is to build dashboards from scratch to end, from data integration and data modeling, using Magic ETL for data transformations, and creating cards by using data analyzer, and building cards using multiple cards such as charts, line charts, multi-line charts, and bar charts. My job combines everything from scratch to end for implementing securities such as row-level securities, PDP (Personalized Data Permissions), and giving access to end users, managers, or stakeholders. This is the end-to-end process which I have done for my clients.

I have worked on multiple BI tools, including Domo, Power BI, and Smartsheet. When it comes to Domo, we have one platform for data integration as well as for data modeling, transformations, and creating visualizations such as charts, graphs, and cards, which is beneficial because in Power BI we have multiple modules for these functions. Inside Domo, we don't have too many modules for creating visualizations, which I have noticed while using it. When it comes to sharing reports or dashboards, with Domo, we can customize dashboards as per the requirement and share them with other stakeholders.

What is most valuable?

These are the advantages because it saves our time. In Power BI, if we want to build a dashboard, we have to go to another site, log in, and create the dashboard. In Domo itself, we can build the dashboard, and if someone wants to change something on the dashboard, they can simply log into Domo, make changes, and pass the information to the required person. In Power BI, it takes more time because we need to log in, change information on the report, and share it again.

I have mostly used data table, bar chart, and line chart features, as these are the ones I have used in most cases.

When using a data table, if I want to visualize or get more data onto the dashboard with a large number of columns, using a bar chart or line chart can make the dashboard look clumsy. I have used a data table because it gives the complete information of required columns, such as sales or expenses.

What needs improvement?

To optimize the report or dashboard, I have used methods to limit the cards and data sets. If we have unwanted data in our data set as raw data, we need to cleanse and structure it first. I have limited the data as per the requirement because having excessive data in Domo will increase loading time and occupy large amounts of space. By limiting the data and cards on the dashboard, it optimizes the dashboard and improves performance.

Since I haven't used AI in Domo while using it, I need to improve my skills in AI and integrate AI knowledge into Domo, which I think will save time and give accurate data.

AI as a feature can be improved or enhanced in Domo.

For how long have I used the solution?

Currently I'm not working with Domo, but I have two years of experience using it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have faced some challenges because previously I was working on Power BI. When I switched companies and started using Domo, transforming knowledge from Power BI to Domo came with difficulties. I overcame these hurdles and gained knowledge through my colleagues, Domo University, and Domo Palooza by learning from articles.

How was the initial setup?

The implementation part involves logging in with credentials into Domo.

What about the implementation team?

For other organizations, they have to get trained. If someone is working on another tool, they need to learn how Domo works, what Magic ETL is, how to drag the data onto the integration part, and learn about the data sources. Training is essential because without it, they might face issues that could lead to escalations. Getting training and support from colleagues is important to gain experience on Domo.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The admin team and manager take care of licensing, but I do not have any information about the prices of the license.

What other advice do I have?

I have used Domo University and Domo Palooza for learning. I don't have access to the mobile version as only managers have access. I am currently working as a Power BI developer with Aregano Technologies. I have four years of experience in BI and would categorize myself as a freelancer or consultant. My review rating for Domo is 9 out of 10.

Has streamlined high-volume data analysis and mobile access while facing challenges with pricing and complexity

  • October 06, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My company has been using Domo for quite a while, for a very long time. Domo became popular to us in 2019, so we've been using Domo since then, in early 2020s, so downwards.

I'm the CEO of AIOT and I'm the one leading an e-commerce line for one key in Africa. We use Domo for data management. It was something we were heavily using before, but we are not relying on it anymore. We've moved to CRM platforms such as Zoho Corporation. In the past, for data management, we sampled a lot of data and transformed it into useful information that helped to upscale our businesses. We use it on behalf of certain people that have a lot of data, certain companies, to have a form of data sampling and for us to turn information into actions that are quite productive.

When I first started, my company has really grown. Back then, it was just me and one of my staff that is no longer with us. He was the one that did the handling and everything and I was just there monitoring. We were just two of us.

What is most valuable?

Domo is quick and has a name for itself. Even way back, companies such as DHL have been using it and we do a lot of distribution with DHL in Africa, specifically in Nigeria. The fact that you can integrate it with CRM platforms itself and there's a special feature that enables you to utilize AI is beneficial. You can use AI to create AI agents and utilize it with CRM software such as Salesforce, which is a very big addition to it.

Having Domo on your phone makes it more feasible for our staff to handle data on the go, rather than being stuck in one place carrying a PC.

There are many valuable features, especially the charts and graphs that make it easy to pass information to people that are not really technical. Just by looking at the charts and graphs, it is really comprehensive. There's also the dashboards, the interactive dashboard features, and the maps. An AI-powered feature helps to automate tasks and provide good insights.

What needs improvement?

In the past, most of the complaints about using Domo were about the pricing structure being more expensive than regular ones. Some complained that it's too elaborate and too intricate.

The major downside for Domo is the pricing structure, which is a big turnoff for everyone. Domo has been existing since 2010 and became popular around 2017-2018. If they actually work on their pricing structure, more people would be inclined to use Domo.

They could improve their AI capabilities. AI agents and many AI-based platforms are now using voice commands. In Domo you could use SQL, but they haven't really harnessed the full capabilities of AI. There are many ways to interact with AI that could be added to new updates.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with this solution for approximately six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In the past, we were not really using cloud-based platforms. One that caught our eye for a very long time was Salesforce.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There were quite some few bumps, but I was able to find my way around because of my technical know-how. However, from a layman's perspective, you wouldn't be able to. Many people have to consult third party resources, watch EVM videos online, or refer to manuals, especially during the deployment stage.

How are customer service and support?

I have used the customer service, but it's still a new feature. We used it before, but we haven't currently used it for some period.

I haven't used the solution recently.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

It was just between Domo and Salesforce because there's overlap between CRM software and BI software, though BI has more functionalities. For our company, we had to weigh if there were things Salesforce could do that Domo couldn't do. Domo can do everything Salesforce can do. We realized we may not really need to use Domo. We could just use Salesforce to handle our data and everything.

How was the initial setup?

At first we started to use on-premises, then moved to cloud-based because it saves space, saves data, and saves stress. It's better for them to handle all the challenges, so it's cloud-based.

What was our ROI?

In the past, we've seen ROI, especially because Domo pricing structure is not really based on how much you use it. It's based on the functionalities that you're accessing on their platform on the cloud-based platform. Domo can charge as much as $100,000. If you're actually using Domo at a very limited case and you're being charged $20,000, we've seen ROI there, but once it goes really high, you really need to check your metrics and check your profit.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The payment parts were handled by my accountant as I wasn't around at that moment, but basically from what she said, I think it was directly from Domo.

What other advice do I have?

Learning is a steady curve, so you need to give it time, you need to take your time. Don't just try to put immense data in your head at once or try to learn all the aspects of Domo at once. Just take it slow and steady. The more you try certain aspects and you see how it turns out for your business, you get more inclined to use it. Just take it one step at a time.

Because of the new AI features, I rate Domo as seven out of ten.

DOMO provides an excellent platform for a range of uses by experienced and novice analysts.

  • October 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of DOMO is the ability to manipulate data, visualize, and story-board it all within one platform. A close second is the routine improvements that the DOMO team pushes showing the platform is growing to accommodate more business needs. My favorite singular feature is DOMO Apps. I became proficient in AppSheet before learning about DOMO, and I realized that no-code is the direction for most platforms. Having a BI system combined with an in-platform app builder has been a sublime experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many things that DOMO misses when it comes to the minutiae, but a few big items seem to have left their radar. One is the organization of content within DOMO. The breakaway from typical folder subfolders for saved card content doesn't quite jive with navigational heuristics we have all come to use with new software. Two, the ability to create dev versions or deployed versions of cards means our internal team must keep some of them locked down. A small missing feature that goes along with both of these is the inability to create display vs internal development names for cards or data sources (though for datasources, I understand DOMO wants to use the Views feature). These improvements would make me like DOMO all the more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DOMO is helping us join siloed data and create insights from a collection of years of business information that was once locked down in our ERP. Before, it would take months to generate a report with zero ability to answer ad hoc questions without significant, time-consuming hours. Now, we can answer questions that drive our business with very little fear of having to remake or rework reports since we can integrate those controls in the dashboards and apps.

Have improved workflow efficiency through custom reports but encountered formatting limitations

  • October 01, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Domo for multiple projects. I have created various projects in Domo directly through their website. Currently, I'm working for Movid Technology in India. We have created multiple projects in Domo. The major part is invoicing, and we have BT reports, incorporating sales reports. Overall, we are working in telephonic domains.

What is most valuable?

My favorite feature in Domo is Beast Mode, and we have Insights. When asking insights on the right side of the dashboard, we create insights. If I ask questions in segments, they provide more information regarding the dashboard and data set.

The main agenda of working in Domo involves sales and developing.

What needs improvement?

The downsides of Domo are that we don't have a feature in the same column. When data comes in a time format, text format, and number format, we cannot segregate and create conditional formatting in that column. If in the future they develop this feature, it will benefit more users.

Domo requires maintenance on my end, such as updates. I am maintaining some dashboards on a weekly basis and monthly basis daily reports. Because we need to upload in SFTP, we cannot schedule or auto-schedule due to rate purposes. We manually handle the data sets. If there were an option to reduce the cost, it would be easier to access.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Domo in my career for the last three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Regarding stability, sometimes the Domo server goes down. I experienced this last week. The server was down for one or two hours, from midnight 2:30 to around 4:30. During that time, we faced issues from the project side as Domo was not visible in our portal. I could not reach out to the Domo team at that time. We had to wait until 5:00, when it automatically resolved.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The server capacity is currently good, but there are limitations. We can only access limited data sizes. When fetching files larger than 100 MB from SFTP or any other portal, Domo becomes slow due to the heavy file size. This area needs improvement.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted their customer support two times. In one instance, we discussed the issue of having time format, text format, and percentage in the same column format that needed segregation. They mentioned they would develop that facility in the future. Support-wise, they are good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

As alternatives, I work with Tableau and Power BI. I have created multiple dashboards. Domo is better to use as it offers more scheduling options on its platform.

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment cost in Domo is higher compared to Power BI or Tableau. That's one difficult aspect of Domo. Otherwise, it is very good.

The initial deployment was very easy for me when I started working with Domo three years ago. Though I was new to the Domo platform, I knew some SQL coding basics, so I could easily access ETL and Beast Mode. I learned quickly in a short period of 20 days.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing of Domo is too high. Six months ago, Domo increased their prices. We suffered because we could not maintain the old data in the old data set in Domo. We are creating multiple backups on our server and showing only six-month data because of the cost. They quoted approximately one dollar per KB.

What other advice do I have?

I am working in a good company as a customer and user of Domo, without any partnerships. We have two professional consultants working with us.

Domo can contact me regarding this review through their community platform, where I directly chat and sort out issues. Many people are active in community chats, and I search for details there when needed.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Domo an 8.

Has enabled me to integrate AI workflows and drive self-service analytics across organizations

  • October 01, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have used Domo at various organizations. I was a very early adopter of Domo at one of my early organizations when Domo was still in stealth mode as a startup. It has progressed since then, and I worked closely with the Domo team to help build different product capabilities before bringing it into other organizations.

Currently, I use it for my own small business to perform general analytics. I also implement embedded pipelines where I use machine learning and AI to understand consumer intent and action.

What is most valuable?

The flexibility and usability are probably the best features. I really appreciate what they're doing now with workflow and AI agents, allowing users to build that kind of agentic flow where data analytics and traditional ETL can quickly and easily embed AI capabilities, which is extremely powerful.

As a cloud-hosted platform, scale is not an issue aside from cost, which relates to credit consumption. Scaling is Domo's concern, not mine. I've never had an issue with scaling it, and I've scaled it rapidly in multiple organizations. The only concern has always been the budget and licensing tier.

What needs improvement?

There's room for improvement in their focus on enterprise clients. As a small business owner, there's nothing as powerful as Domo available for smaller organizations. I understand it's a business focus for them as they're looking to expand in that direction, but there's an opportunity to capture the SMB market by creating more capabilities. It's not necessarily about technical capabilities, but rather pricing that's geared towards the small business market.

Capability-wise, it's very robust. If I had to stretch, I would suggest more integrations to other common tools, such as Zapier and operational tools like Mailchimp, where you can build and extend ETL in a no-code environment. While there are capabilities you can build from Domo's open APIs, having more native integrations in a no-code, low-code environment would be beneficial. Domo has many native integrations, but better tools for the SMB operational pipeline would be valuable.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Domo for about 10 years, maybe longer.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Every platform has some issues. I've experienced outages, though they are few and far between and are usually dealt with quickly. As new features get released, there can be some quirkiness and bugs. Depending on the scope and scale, some issues get addressed quickly, while others may require workarounds, but in terms of overall stability of the platform, it's very stable.

How are customer service and support?

It's very easy to get technical support from Domo. They make it readily available with chat functionality right within the platform. Even on a lower tier, you get technical support, though response time differs based on the tier. Getting technical support is straightforward - you can chat within the Domo platform when you're stuck, and someone will reply. On a freemium tier, responses might take an hour, two hours, or next day, but support always responds.

Premium support, which I've had in the past, has been excellent. I would rate their support as eight or nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used almost all the tools available. I worked at Siebel Systems with their product Enquire, which Siebel Systems bought before Oracle acquired Siebel, becoming what is now OBIEE. I'm familiar with Google's tools, Google BigTable, and Tableau. I've been in the BI space my entire career for 20 plus years.

What differentiates Domo is that it goes beyond analytics, though they don't market themselves that way. They are essentially a development platform - a data and AI and analytics development platform that is robust in terms of what you can build. Whether it's Looker, Oracle Analytics, MicroStrategy, or any other dozen tools, they're hyper-focused on business analytics, and customization becomes more narrow compared to Domo's powerful capabilities.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is very simple with a completely service-based model. It's very easy to use, starting from uploading Excel files or simple data files to begin analytics and then building in capabilities.

When I ran data strategy for Rakuten, which was early on when I was working with Domo during their stealth mode, I scaled Domo from no user base to 50% of the organization, over 6,000 users, in a year. This was accomplished by creating a governed area for corporate data, and Domo's structure allows business users to perform their own analytics without needing BI teams and dedicated analytics teams. This results in a low barrier for rapid adoption.

What about the implementation team?

It depends on how maintenance is defined. From an infrastructure and operational perspective, it requires minimal maintenance. However, from a data pipeline, data quality, and data governance perspective, maintenance is necessary. Any system pulling data requires some level of maintenance, whether it involves systems of record, data expansion and retention, or user governance.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing structure isn't straightforward and depends on the type of organization. In my small business, I was grandfathered into their freemium model, which they've since phased out. On an enterprise scale, I've had licenses ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds for my small business, each with different constraints and objectives.

Domo has moved to a consumption pricing model, which can be both advantageous and challenging. For long-time users, it can become expensive, but the trade-off is access to the entire platform instead of licensing different components separately. The consumption basis requires discipline but provides more access and freedom. While this pricing model allows exploration of Domo's product features, it can become costly if you only use one or two product features, requiring some re-education.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a strong advocate for Domo. I never give anybody a perfect score, but I rate them a solid 8.5 out of 10.
