Making AWS EC2 Spot Instances a Breeze
What do you like best about the product?
Algorithmic choosing of spot instance types by price using scores.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be nice to have a single node group that can do x86 and arm64 without changing AMI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AutoScaling EC2s based on application demands. Makes management and scaling easy to use and saves a lot of money that is measurable and predictable
ocean is the future

Being able to manage the containerized workloads using a single UI that includes all the necessary information.
What do you dislike about the product?
The need to add nodeSelectors in order to use correctly the VNG feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
being able to save money with great automation of the recovery process for spots instances that are taken back to the cloud provider
honest Spot Ocean review
What do you like best about the product?

What do you like best about the product?
The Tech Support department is very knowledgable
What do you dislike about the product?

SRE for 1 year
What do you like best about the product?
The autosacler and its capability to take into consideration PDBs
What do you dislike about the product?
The time a spot requests takes to be fulfilled
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To be able to mange my clusters dynamically without the need to scale modes up and down
Easy implementation and great savings
What do you like best about the product?
Spot Ocean's big difference for us was the excellent integration with the provisioning tool we used: kops. This made it very easy to configure a new node groups on existing clusters using Spot Ocean. It also made it easier to maintain our infrastructure as code.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though we integrate kops, sometimes it doesn't work well in new kops versions. This is expected because the integration development is slower than the development of kops.
For us, this is not a critical issue as we are already used to installing earlier versions of kops compared to the final release.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The cost reduction and operational excellence, as this spot instances management is done transparently and efficiently by Spot Ocean.
In the first few months after implementation, we got a cost reduction of over 60% with AWS EC2.
Free Money
What do you like best about the product?
Reducing compute costs by 80%+ is the most obvious thing to like about Spot Ocean. However in addition to that they are a great partner, provide excellent service, domain expertise on compute environments, and are generally excellent to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
On Spot Ocean literally nothing. I would like to see better reporting on their Eco side, and I'm excited to see what they do with their Cloud Checkr acquisition and how well that fits into the broader console, but I honestly have not once considered moving away from Spot Ocean in the past 5 years of usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our primary use case is running 100% of our container compute on AWS spot instances. We are saving over $10M a year from this alone, with zero performance degradation, resiliency degradation, etc.
easy deploy and managing spot isntances
What do you like best about the product?
Ocean took the spot instances management out of the picture and allow engineers to adopt EKS running spot instances
What do you dislike about the product?
should include instance family in spot instances selection instead of specify each instance type
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost optimization. Ocean was able to reduce our EC2 compute cost
