With HAProxy, we are able to facilitate not only load balancing criteria but also monitor App health
What do you like best about the product?
HAProxy adeptly aggregates table data from our cluster of load balancers on a real-time basis. Inspecting tag values within our logon messages is done quickly as soon as our client sends them. We can easily modify rate-limiting thresholds for traffic loads that are dynamic in nature. The Resolvers offered by HAProxy enable DNS server listing over TCP so that we are able to manage multiple DNS responses.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to have a few connection headways to promote reusability. This would greatly help us overcome the constraints of limited connectivity over TLS. Also, we could connect multiple backend servers without worrying about our SNI metrics & no. of host header requests with these improvisations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our organization, HAProxy is configured in such a way that it not only takes care of load-balancing requirements but also gathers health metrics for our applications. We integrate Prometheus with HAProxy to collect metrics & obtain visualizations in the HAProxy Dashboard. We can also enable the auto-removal option for failed servers as it benefits load balancing rotation & saves cost. This ensures that all our servers are in proper health and failed servers are automatically replicated during unexpected outages.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use HAProxy as an ingress point for all external traffic, utilizing load balancing and filtering features. It is out of the box tuned for high performance and allows to utilize less compute resources to achieve more results compared to competitors. Also, if we need to add a new feature to our load balancers fleet, very likely it's already supported by HAProxy and what is needed is to just configure it.

A trusty tool
What do you like best about the product?
HA Proxy is simple to use and reliable. It does one basic thing, and it does it well. The interface is clean and easy to use, the web monitoring is fine, easy to hook up - and can be used for a variety of services - not just for HTTP/HTTPS only. The best thing about it is the ease of use - one config file, and everything is easy to configure - or automate. Also, there are many plugins for automation tools, so you can plug it into ansible, puppet, or whatever you use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike about it - maybe it's the speed of adopting new things, but that's about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used it to solve not only reverse proxy/load balancing of HTTP servers but also various other services - database, search.... a lot. It solved issues regarding both availability and load balancing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As far as generic proxy solutions go, this is probably the best in the F/OSS space. It's very stable, robust, and supports a lot. There are specialized tools that can be better for specialized cases, but for a generic HA proxy (as the name implies) this is a very good solution. Also, when there is no specialized tool - this one will work in almost any case.
I have been using HAProxy since several year
