Great for building saas

What do you like best about the product?
Appsmith is an incredible tool! It requires a bit of imagination and creativity to get things done, often involving some workarounds, much like programming in general. However, it's much simpler and a lot about experimenting. Once you get the hang of it, you can understand how it works, and you feel your applications continuously improving. The UI is quite beautiful, and using Appsmith is super easy. I have used both the self-hosted and cloud versions, and both work excellently. Additionally, Appsmith has reduced my development time by at least 40%.

The way to integrate appsmith with different apis is awesome, but i would like to have a way to create a login that allows you to use your own jwt logic but not from scratch.

I use appsmith like literally every day in my work day and i am currently developing a SaaS with it, which i will be hopefully launchin soon.

Its pretty easy to deploy and to keep track of changes also, sometimes it is kind of hard to understand some conflicts on git but it is becaus of the way json are store so does not really matter.

The community is great, and their videos are helpful, i recommend asking question in discord
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could use improvement is the documentation. There are certain aspects that are hard to find information on.

Another challenge is positioning widgets exactly in the middle; arranging objects in a grid layout can be tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing development time.
Getting MVPs done even faster.

What do you like best about the product?
Appsmith is easy to use and configurable. The app gives lot of flexiblity to set things up in free plan and also provide credits to startup companies to paid plans.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expecting some branding feature should be available in free plan or some paid plan that just include branding feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help quickly deploy fully enabled UI application based on your API or database in matter of minutes. Directly allowing a creation of page to edit and update db is what I liked the most, ease up the basic things quickly.

Very good low-code solution to create apps

  • July 16, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AppSmith is a strong technical platform that allows for a lot of flexibility when it comes to creating platforms. There are a lot of intuitive built-in data sources but additionally the ability to implement any APIs is very helpful and easy. I use AppSmith everyday in my workplace to create various low-code applications. The customer support is also unmatched, being able to easily meeting with a specialist to get questions answered through chat or virtual meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
While AppSmith was a very good platform, there were some limitations that made it difficult. For instance I was unable to upload a PDF to an OpenAI model despite the model having the capability to do so. Despite that, I was able to find a work around and still create my app to its fullest extent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AppSmith is allowing me to turn an idea to create a web app that utilizes A.I. into a reality very fast. I needed something easy to use and that could implement the usage of an LLM which other platforms could not do or could only do in a very restrictive manner. AppSmith was the only one that allowed me to do what I needed to in a flexible manner.

What do you like best about the product?
Building app is pretty strightforward and smooth. Initially app took about 1 hour, later is juz less 10 minutes to build any flow. Good part is you can share mutiple users even in free version. This is gives better idea on scalability before purchasing licenced version .
What do you dislike about the product?
UI can be improved. Need to have workflow similar to Retool to automate data flows between tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped us to quickly build flows within our warehouse which processes 10L pax on a daily basis. This helped us alot for quicker order fulfillment.

Efficient and User-Friendly Low-Code Solution

  • June 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Appsmith greatly simplifies application development with its intuitive drag-and-drop interface. The pre-built components handle common functionalities, saving me time and allowing me to focus on unique features. Integration with data sources and APIs is seamless, further streamlining the development process. This platform significantly boosts my productivity and enables faster project delivery.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating responsive layouts for mobile devices could be more intuitive. Additionally, setting up detailed user permissions can sometimes require extra effort. Despite these minor issues, Appsmith remains an invaluable tool for my development needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Appsmith has dramatically reduced the time and resources needed to build applications. I was able to create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in just one day, a task that previously would have taken my team of two developers an entire month. This rapid development capability not only saves time but also significantly cuts costs, enabling us to iterate quickly and bring solutions to market faster. This efficiency has freed up my team to focus on other critical tasks, enhancing overall productivity and benefiting our projects immensely.

Making Apps Couldn't Be Any Easier

  • June 14, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to turn an idea into something tangiable and useful without the need of a full-blown dev team and months of planning is what makes Appsmith so valuable. The tool is very easy to pick up and learn and very intuative. Plus the free tier gives you plenty of features to get started immediately. The intregretion to many different data sources is also a huge plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being low/no code, it perhaps lacks some of the flexibility and features compared to developing something bespoke from stratch but this is to be expected. I imagine the Appsmith team will continue to add features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It replaces a lot of manual data entry/categorisation/labeling that has been historical done in excel. This means the liklihood of incorrect data entry (and therefore inaccurate data) has been greatly reduced.
