Accurate Data, but Managing Multiple Instances Is Challenging - Sr. Tax Manager

Accurate data and ease of use is what I like best

We have 4 instances which makes it difficult to manage.

Helps gather data for reporting and audits.
Global Vertex Creates Efficiency
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Vertex is versatile and quickly addresses changing legislations and puts them into production. It takes the load off of the tax team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer service response times could be better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex addresses both B2B and P2P globally for my company. Additionally, we use Vertex to manage more than 40K exemption certificates.
Making Tax Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I have worked in 2 industries that use Vertex and the tax mapping has been great to solve all our tax issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that it doesn't give the citing for tax laws and we have to use other websites for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex is helping our company with the new tax laws around electronic software and the new legislations that are being put in place
Innovative Features, But Reporting Needs Smoother Workflow

Innovation and things that are improving
What do you dislike about the product?
Some screens like Transaction Tester do not always show completely accurate info. The custom report results have to keep selecting options and sorting after looking at each entry.

Tax rules and data in place for compliance.
Excellent for Complex Tax Decisions, But Data Extracts Need Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Handles very complex tax decisions utilizing lots of transaction factors & where it's not built in functionality, you can build custom rules.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transaction detail extracts are multi-line & make analysis difficult
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex is handling tax calculations on a large volumn of transactions across all of the USA, with constantly changing rates & regulations.

Vertex helps with automating the sales tax prep process and helps keep us up to date with current tax law.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vertex customer support can be difficult at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex helps us not have to use Excel to calculate sales tax and integrates with Omni to make getting data easier.

For accurately calculating tax rates for all the different jurisdictions.

Creating reports can be quite complicated

They are helping us accurately map our products to taxability categories so that our POs have the correct tax.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the courses and online training and certificates that are available. I like that I can contact the help desk and someone to help with any issues. Even the events are fun and the presenter are very interactive. Everyone is super friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all. All the courses are very useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helpful with our return filing and taking all the different type or report and creating useful reports that we can review. It makes every monthly compliance smooth when the BU do it right.
